Notice the grease on the tap? That’s to contain any small chips. This is a new engine and already has metal in the oil, the few odd chips that may have gotten in there are not gonna make a difference.

Not a bad return on investment tbh 12 k and you double ( at least) your HP. A new mustang GT is like 30 -40k depending on options and if you add a $12k twin turbo kit you pretty much get a 800whp monster for roughly $50k that can pretty much smoke anything in it's class. I know it's a huge cost upfront but damn if you don't get results.

This engine and transmission will take this power and more. Its amazing how well engineered this platform is. The only thing that I would invest in, if I were him and its available, is converting the fuel system to run e-85 for that extra safety measure and upgrade the oil pump gears.

I love my 2017 Mustang GT custom Whipple. It was so easy to hit 700+ whp. And the most fun I’ve ever had building a car!! Looking forward to my next TT project in F-150 Coyote form.

Personally , I liked the way they did the oil pan taps. The only metal lost would be a tiny amount from thread cutting which would settle to the bottom and be collected by the drain plug magnet. If any happened to go through the system , it would be caught by the filter. In my opinion , much less chance of problems than pulling the pan and welding on fittings. I think many of the commenters missed the fact that the drill bit didn't go all the way through , but only close enough for the punch to finish making the hole and leave a good base for cutting threads.
Are we to assume that all of the internal components are rated for this type of abuse? I have no doubt it can handle it for a little while but will wear out very quickly.
I done this with a 2v and made 725rwhp. The engine internals literally fell apart. Oh, not the mention the transmission granaded. After I rebuilt everything and had it all back together I had spent 65K. True story
Because the lower you go on tire pressure the lower the dyno is going to read.. best thing is a straight up none drag radial with high tire pressure to get good dyno numbers .. an easy way to prove this if you don’t believe me is go dyno your car with a regular radial tire at 45 psi .. then toss on some drag Radials at about 25psi and let me know what the difference is .. my car made about 40 less rwhp with drag radials at low pressure. 😪😪

While technically it is called a roadrunner engine by the Ford Executives who made it it's technically still a coyote based engine just like the GT350 engine they're all the same thing what's different hard parts putting them together all their parts will interchange on to one another so in my eyes they're the same engine
@@carlosv.118 i know what it is...it is a coyote BASED engine...its just a different variation of it and they call it the voodoo...it has the flat plane and it has different higher flowing heads, among other things but essentially its a modded coyote. Its bored out, different internals, heads, crank, intake, among other things but its still a coyote based engine. The 5.4/5.8 dohc in the gt500s is a totally different engine...the heads wont interchange neither will the intake and other things like that...totally different engine...but the voodoo and coyote can both interchange parts because they are both COYOTE BASED engines...which is what i said and i stand by it.

It's a Mustang and through the generations Ford never bothered to fix the one Achilles Heel they have and that is not being able to hook up. Even with slicks, that dude is going to have a hell of a time even making a 12 second flat pass without balling the tires off all the way down the track. He's going to need a shit ton of suspension upgrades...just like every other Mustang built since 1982.

I would be more concerned with the stock rods that are @ 12:1 compression, being able to handle all that stress. The oil pump gears usually fail due to higher RPM, over 7000 is too much for a stock oil pump, stay under 7 grand and you are relatively safe. also they didn't put any oil catchers on the pcv lines, tuning will suffer from all that blow by oil it can also cause cylinder detonation.
I'm thinking that turbo x-pipe is just there for sound because scavenging wouldn't exist after the turbos. For my sound preference, I'd just go true duals all the way for that old muscle car sound
Rods and Cranks are rarely the cause of failure for these engines... it’s other surrounding miscellaneous parts that go that bring the destruction of the engine

The 6R80 is surprisingly well built and holds a lot. I have friends making similar power on vortech systems and it’s held just fine. No diff problems either

I dynoed my stock 2018 A10 Mustang in Nashville in June and made 422 wheel hp. That's a huge increased from the 15-17 Gen 2 Coyote.

The 6R80 is surprisingly well built and holds a lot. I have friends making similar power on vortech systems and it’s held just fine. No diff problems either

Blowoff valves at a 90 degree angle with kits like that frustrate me so bad... o, yah, definitely sounds like a good idea to have something that senses pressure at THE WORST ANGLE TO THE FLOW OF AIR.......
