I had never heard of Kahawai or Trevally until watching this video! I'm in Scotland, love sushi and looking for some other inspiration. Thanks for the upload!
Delicious! That was the first thing I ate when visiting Samoa and staying at Aggie Gray's near the airport. That one was made with Mahi Mahi. I live in Whangaparaoa, NZ.
I had to screenshot your ingredients my friend, Ima gonna try it” looks very delicious 😋😊 Samoan food are very delicious and unique dishes ❤ thanks for the recipe 😊
Samoan oka is only fish ,lemon and coconut cream no onion no verge, the raw fish salad included onion and verge, that's no taste of oka, just taste like salad.
Were you at his house? Did you eat it? Did you try some? Also, what's a verge? Do you mean vege? Maybe before you comment you should do a quick scan and make sure you're not on the VERGE of making spelling and grammar mistakes. Chur my Verge.
For who? Are you an Oka making connoisseur? How do you know what tastes good to other people? No matter what you respond with, you don't speak on behalf of every taste bud in the world, go be Chef Ramsey somewhere else with your unsolicited advice.
We Fijian, add lemon juice to fish first for 30mins to an hour to cook the fish ( firm ) and then add other ingredients after.
Yep, thats a great way to do it, too!
You explain it simply and easy to follow..great work!

Hi! Thank you so much for this! Can you tell me, how long does his last in the fridge? 2 or 3 days? Many thanks.
It varies, but generally it should keep for 3 days. How long it actually lasts depends on whose fridge it is lol
At best two days.. I don’t leave it in there for any longer than that 🤷🏼♂️up to u I guess
Thank you so much. x@@biggteez12
Yummy😋😋😋😋😋
quick question. What kind of fish did you use?
Kahawai. Trevally is also good.
Yeah what fish
In Samoa never use travelly or snapper for oka, they use only mallet and tuna (aku).
Talofa, what kind of fish is that?
Trevally
Do u add a bit of mayo
Oosh, nope?! Is that a thing??
What kind of fish was that Bossman
Trevally
What fish you using for you raw fish
Trevally, I think that was!
🙏
This looks good. Is it super sweet?
Not really. It can be tho, depending on the veges. Using cherry tomatoes, red onions or capsicum can sometimes make it sweet.
Cucumber seeds must always have to be removed when u used cucumber for oka
He did. Chur Nan, thanks for the words of wisdom and the headache from trying to translate what you wrote.
Taste wit the spoon then put it back in there no good😂
Thank you health and safety cadet. P.s some people think you shouldn't make food with nails as long as yours.
Omg your hands sound beautiful🤩 you should be a hand model 💯👌,, but hey I'm legally blind so u tellme sir I'm all ears😎🤌
First time I try the Samoan raw fish, it wasn't nice, he minced the fish and used the cream that you used for making cake's, it was yucky
Oh no! Thanks for sharing!

Yes like it with more salad vegies

Too many veggies and too much coconut cream kills the taste of lemon and salt and kills the taste of the fresh fish
This one tasted of everything that went in there. Plenty of fish, lemon and salt to go around. But thanks for the comment!
