    We Fijian, add lemon juice to fish first for 30mins to an hour to cook the fish ( firm ) and then add other ingredients after.

    Delicious! That was the first thing I ate when visiting Samoa and staying at Aggie Gray's near the airport. That one was made with Mahi Mahi. I live in Whangaparaoa, NZ.

    Hi! Thank you so much for this! Can you tell me, how long does his last in the fridge? 2 or 3 days? Many thanks.

    • @roebeck21
      @roebeck21  3 роки тому +8

      It varies, but generally it should keep for 3 days. How long it actually lasts depends on whose fridge it is lol

      In Samoa never use travelly or snapper for oka, they use only mallet and tuna (aku).

    This looks good. Is it super sweet?

    • @roebeck21
      @roebeck21  3 роки тому

      Not really. It can be tho, depending on the veges. Using cherry tomatoes, red onions or capsicum can sometimes make it sweet.

    Cucumber seeds must always have to be removed when u used cucumber for oka

    First time I try the Samoan raw fish, it wasn't nice, he minced the fish and used the cream that you used for making cake's, it was yucky

    Samoan oka is only fish ,lemon and coconut cream no onion no verge, the raw fish salad included onion and verge, that's no taste of oka, just taste like salad.

      Were you at his house? Did you eat it? Did you try some? Also, what's a verge? Do you mean vege? Maybe before you comment you should do a quick scan and make sure you're not on the VERGE of making spelling and grammar mistakes. Chur my Verge.

    Too many veggies and too much coconut cream kills the taste of lemon and salt and kills the taste of the fresh fish

    • @roebeck21
      @roebeck21  6 місяців тому

      This one tasted of everything that went in there. Plenty of fish, lemon and salt to go around. But thanks for the comment!

      For who? Are you an Oka making connoisseur? How do you know what tastes good to other people? No matter what you respond with, you don't speak on behalf of every taste bud in the world, go be Chef Ramsey somewhere else with your unsolicited advice.
