    You're absolutely right to have fish veges cut up small as it's easy to eat and more flavourable. Looks yummy 😊

    I really like this recipe. I see a lot where they don't use just coconut cream but add the lemon and coconut cream with water, therefore, WATERING it down. Nice one for not watering it down. Just like how I always knew how to make ika mata taught by mum. I was beginning to think the recipe mum taught me was wrong. Obviously not! 🤔 Thanks for making it all gud! Thank you.

    try freshly grated and strained coconut cream, the stuff from brown organic coconuts the way its done in the islands takes raw fish to a different level, they don't use cans just 100% pure

    I always marinade my fish with lemon at maximum 30 mins. For me I don’t want the citrus to burn through the fishes flavour at the same time.
    I also marinade the fish and cucumber with lemon as lemon Marries well with cucumber

    • @DrBojangles007
      @DrBojangles007 4 роки тому +2

      It depends what fish your using and how fresh it is, with snapper, it needs less time to marinade, but with fish like kahawai and travelly, it usually needs a bit longer. For fresh fish that you've caught, I would use less lemon and as you say, have it marinade for minimal time

    What kind of FISH do you use!???

    • @TamokoHaka
      @TamokoHaka  4 місяці тому

      I'm using Basa here. However would prefer to use snapper or cod but well you know $$$. But as long as you marinate it for at least 4 hours it will take on a firmer texture.

    I reckon use better quality ingredients. It will taste way better like... Kara Coconut Cream, snapper or actually anything apart from Basa. Its too soft and makes it shredd. Also add capsicum, yum as

    • @TamokoHaka
      @TamokoHaka  4 роки тому +2

      Yeh absolutely bro. Higher quality is better. My personal favourite is kahawai and trident cream. We have 8 children so budget is tight save for the odd special occasion when we might splash out a little bit. I know lot's of peeps add other ingredients and I encourage people to add anything they might like. Unfortunately I dislike capsicum very much lol but all to their own. Sweet az.
