I just noticed this while you were fighting starmie, but you’re always very aware of the Pokémon’s gender, and I think that makes it easier to get attached to certain Pokémon. Also makes it a bit more dramatic when the go down.

You’re probably never going to see this, but I have a really cool idea for a Nuzlocke. Instead of doing mono runs and stuff like that I think it would be cool to see a run where you do like special moves only or physical moves only and it can be any type of Pokémon. Something totally different. 😁

I agree. People always say its easy but overlook the experience it gives which is pretty unique in my opinion. The attention to details and the overall map and landscape is so well done and also the Dex is also really well balanced. It's probably one of the more fun games in the series to nuzlocke.
I’m just glad to see variations in the games, period. At this point, I’ve seen Nuzlockes/Challenge Runs/Solo Runs of the Gen 1-3 games 500x. We got almost 30 years of games, like damn.

I imagine it's going to need some special game-specific rule tweaks like how Ultra Sun & Moon allow for minor overleveling at times bc of the number of mandatory fights early on and inability to leave some trials once they start. Then again, if ppl managed to figure out how to nuzlocke Sword & Shield with the visible encounters, maybe they could adapt some of that for Legends.

i feel like this is a joke comment? wild pokes are unpredictable and catching them puts the player in a semi-vulnerable situation of taking unpredictable attacks in the process. this is [likely] why flygonhg tosses the master ball despite increased catch rate (+quick ball buff + catching mons increasing the rate) when they could save the master ball for a catch in remaining routes which, arguably, could be the better choice depending on certain factors. also dunsparce is terrible.

I like how people have been trying more arbitrary restrictions for their runs. For my personal runs, I often theme my teams or do something interesting for them challenge-wise to make it more interesting, so it's fun seeing other people explore that too Maybe egg groups would be fun to try next? Field might be too much but there are some interesting ones out there for sure

Throh is an absolute beast of a muppet. I caught one in my Pokemon White Nuzlock and he hard-carried me through that entire game. Partially because whenever I came across a difficult encounter, I'd toss him in the frontlines as punishment for killing most of my team while catching him. Thanks to that, I discovered just how bulky Throh is, just how broken a move that always crits can be. He eventually became my new favorite and I forgave him for killing four of my pokemon. Actually that Throh is a top contender for my favorite pokemon in any Nuzlocke I've ever done.

An idea for a nuzlocke rule: "Grief and Rage". If you lose a pokemon, then the next time you can access a PC you must box all your pokemon in a specific box, then extract what's left to refill your roster. If you have no other pokemon, it counts as a wipe. You can only get your grieving mons back after you've cycled through everything in your box. It makes preparing for the elite four really tough, since losing a mon in the later story fights or gyms could throw your team into disarray. It also makes the more overlooked mons a bit more valuable. But once you're scraping the bottom of the barrel, a couple of strategic sacrifices could be what you need to cycle through and get your A-Team back.

Hey so I don't know if I'm the only person but I know that I'm one of the people that recommended the challenge. Because I did playthroughs of multiple pokémon games using only pokémon that don't evolve. And so thank you I honestly really like that somebody did this
And the main reason I did all these challenges was because I really enjoyed using Pokemon I hadn't before. It's really fun. I would highly recommend you try some other generations because they have some incredible variety as well.

I'm terrible at the grant fight anyways, me beating it is usually a miracle. Ironically though, my best run of it was during my nuzlocke.

Watching this video after my sweet little dunsparce got an evolution (which always makes me laugh because he just got LONGER) was a bit confusing for a second because I somehow forgot dunsparce used to not have an evo, just like little girafarig.
Also, I love how you pronounce some Pokémon names in the silliest way possible. It’s so funny lol

11:05 Pajama Sam...that brings me back, back to a childhood of bad school experiences. Videogames were how I coped with it at the time. The fact that I had lots of friends outside of school helped as well.
I caught on to this a few videos back, but I just wanted to say your use of they/them for pokemon without genders is noticed and appreciated.
Only seconds into the video and Dunsparce is immediately the most valuable mon because of how early you can get it. 10/10 video just for Dunsparce

Aww I would’ve enjoyed seeing you use Spinda in the Nuzlocke. Spinda’s my favourite Pokémon ever and seeing it as a possible encounter made me excited. Still a good video though!

Hey so I don't know if I'm the only person but I know that I'm one of the people that recommended the challenge. Because I did playthroughs of multiple pokémon games using only pokémon that don't evolve. And so thank you I honestly really like that somebody did this
And the main reason I did all these challenges was because I really enjoyed using Pokemon I hadn't before. It's really fun. I would highly recommend you try some other generations because they have some incredible variety as well.
