My dearest Steven, I am writing you this letter to inform you that my marriage to your mother, Nosepass, is ending. We simply do not love each other anymore. She will never admit it, but I know it is because I asked her to give up her dreams and be a stay-at-home mother for your half-brother Nosey. Nosey is such a special child. It is not easy being half-human, half-Nosepass Watching him, I see the look on his face as he struggles with the complexity of human emotions while also being subjected to the basic desire to always be pointing North. It is heart-breaking and I know it has burdened your mother greatly. I fear she has no more energy left to love our marriage. I know you've never truly accepted my wife as your mother. You called our marriage sick, disturbing, a gross violation of morality and ethics But I know you love Nosey. So, Steven, my boy, I must ask that you come home. This video was a lot fun to watch! A water hardcore mono-locke was my first playthrough of Emerald, and actually my second ever HC Nuzlocke win; I was going to do a less demanding run first but got talked into it and was honestly surprised at how well it went... but yeah, I was playing very slow, very cautious, looking up all fights ahead of time, which really does make all the difference. The big mistakes I had made was losing my Gyarados to a random trainer in Gym 7 who had a Wobbufet which I meant to avoid, and then losing Peliper in victory road to that double-trainer battle that has a slaking with thunderbolt and a Gardevoir which negates its Loafing ability (if I recall correctly? It caught me so off-guard). The two battles which gave me the most trouble were, unsurprisingly, Juan and Wallace's double-team spam; I was completely unprepared for those and ended up improvising stall tactics on the fly but only got away with some luck haha. The cool thing about the Emerald mono-water as you showed here is that you really have so many options to choose from, and there's a fair amount of variety involved. Half of your final team were pokemon I didn't use at all in my playthrough! Honestly, for anyone wanting to try out a mono-type challenge in Hardcore Nuzlocke ruleset for the first time, I strongly recommend this one. Slow and steady wins the race, especially in a nuzlocke. One of the best general tips for a nuzlocke by far, and one I learned the hard way during my recent pearl nuzlocke. I lost my Staravia to Gardenia’s Roserade due to me both overestimating my bird and underestimating roserade. It had speed control, and I was dead to a critical hit magical leaf. I did some rough math, and figured quick attack MIGHT be enough damage to pick up the KO... It didn’t, and Roserade got the critical hit to punish my mistake. Before watching, I'm assuming this run will be easy because water types are fantastic as are rain teams. Wow didn't expect you to struggle but you weren't really trying the first run.
A friend of mine gave me his old Emerald game when we were still in school. This game was my favorite, but it's where I came to LOATHE Pelipper. Idk what it was, but EVERY. SINGLE. PLAYTHROUGH. there would be at least a dozen times where pelipper would get like 9 protects off in a row. Crazy triple protects, followed by an insane miss or dodge of my pokemon's move, followed up by more triple protects. Repeatedly. I broke my first GBA when I was 11 over it. Straight up snapped in half down the middle with my hands fighting Wynona. It's not like the game was ever really hard. Just. Fucking. Peelipper. Constantly. Getting. Triple. Protects.

Also Flygon: **literally the next frame** yeah so I just swapped in my main pokemon and if that hit had crit it wouldve been dead & i would've wiped again
That fishing montage was pure gold!
Absolutely it gave me a second wind after the discouragement in Petalburg
Had a great time watching the run, the fishing montage had me in stitches, a+ content right there
Ive never been too big on nicknaming pokemon but these names are just so fluid it’s oddly satisfying
That letter was heartbreaking, poor Nosey :(
That catching Montage is definitely my favorite editing of the whole video, and possible all your videos. And of COURSE that frigging letter. SO GOOD. Honestly your writing humor is sooooo good, the articles from the baby one, the "study" from this on, etc
The montage had me creasing with laughter that was brilliant 😂😂😂😂😂
The fishing montage was the greatest bit since the entire rhyming video. Right on, brother! 🤘
Technically the Underwater sections for Chinchou and Clamperl ARE two separate locations if you examine the game's map files, but they're both labeled Underwater. A BS technicality, I understand but am saddened by the loss of Chinchou 😭😭
The fishing montage is unironically awesome
I had a feeling you were gonna do this run after you tweeted about Huntail and Gorebyss. Love the weekly videos again!
Love that you continue the process of killing basically every water type Pokemon you get to catch just like in your current playthrough of Renegate Platinum
Water type has always been my favorite, and Emerald was the game that really got me into pokemon. Its like my childhood all over again. Long live Aquafina!
Edit: Nvm, RIP aquafina. Maybe your dad was taking out his frustration at his weird, water obsessed child on him.
Your Nuzlocke videos have quickly become my go-to entertainment on UA-cam. I was very excited to see a new video today, had to watch it right away!
Estuvo muy jodido el primer intento y volver a hacer todo en el segundo y ahora sí acabarlo, que paciencia pero genial xD
How he managed to put the letter on screen without bursting into laughter is beyond me. Also your one of my favourite Pokémon UA-camr because your so funny and you don't take things so seriously. Keep up the good work!
So excited to watch this!! Your videos always rock!
Nono, they water
You’re literally the most underrated youtuber, i love ur casual jokes and amazing content!
Would love to see you go for the Steven battle in your emerald runs
The fishing montage is something else! 🤣🤣🤣
Fun fact it’s my birthday today and I’m so happy ur using my favorite type 💙 another great video!!! 👍🏻
Thank u so much!!! 😁
🎂
happy bday!
The intro gets me every time, so clean and seamless. Amazing Video as always dude.
“7.8/10 - Too much water.”
they have a point tho
My goodness Flygon, what a video!!! The letter to steven was comedic GOLD, and then the fishing montage which I absolutely loved! Loving the amazing content :)
Before watching, I'm assuming this run will be easy because water types are fantastic as are rain teams.
Wow didn't expect you to struggle but you weren't really trying the first run.
That fishing montage was everything 🤩🤣
I am giving this video a 7.8.Too much water.
😤
That fishing montage killed me. :D
Just. Fucking. Peelipper. Constantly. Getting. Triple. Protects.
Skill issue. Read the protect
@@cuhgaming4943 yes yes thank you for bringing up "skill" 🙄You clearly can't read or don't understand how 11 year olds play pokemon. At 29 years old now, I'm much better at "reading the protect." Thanks captain.
4:25 that letter was great. The stone-family really loves stones, huh?
Really surprised to see you wipe in a challenge where you get Swampert, Gyrados, Tentacruel, and Ludicolo. The first three are insanely good for nuzlockes and Ludicolo is great in emerald late game considering the number of water type opponents and how he resists most of them and is super effective against them. Fun video still
Lasted only 30 seconds or so but I loved that mini catching montage after the Massacre at the Petalburg Gym, very very nice job Mr. HG
"i suffer from an incurable disease called being stupid" same flygon.
2 hardcore nuzlockes in a week? Flygon working overtime yo
I think since this was a fairly easy run he beat the game easily and made the video sooner. We may not get a new video the upcoming week
I've watched this playthrough multiple times, and I just now paused at 4:28 to read the letter from Mr. Stone to Steven...and Good Lord lmao.
Thank you for all the amazing content you've put out! Keep up the great work!
I'd love to see a wedlocke/partnerlocke
FlygonHG saying facade, fakade and fachade so we all are happy😁
Too much water types 7/10 video
Man I don’t even play Pokémon anymore but watching your nuzlockes of classic games like this triggers intense nostalgia and I keep coming back for more every week 🍻
Hot off the presses
4:28 the fact that you put time into a little joke that only shows for a second makes it 1000 times funnier, love your videos (even if im 2 years late for this one)
Evian backwards is Naive backwards, which also is Staryu's nature. Pretty cool.
