As always, the Diantha puppet battle was great! You and Dana did a great job! To answer your end of video question, I love all your runs - the easy and difficult ones. But my favourite ones are when you go all in on the storytelling and theming - your Christmas, Cutielocke and Halloween videos were my favourites because you went all in on the theming. They make for fun rewatches! But I'll watch every video you put out regardless, since your nuzlockes are more fun and comedic than other runners I watch.
Best video yet? Great mix of content in this one! I like competitive strategy but it honestly gets dry at a certain point, so finding out what went wrong with a damage calc or picking apart a boring game mechanic or bizarre scene breaks it up and holds my interest and makes it more digestible. Keep it up!
I honestly really love the "easier" runs, especially the Kalos ones. Your storytelling and commentary are my favorite parts of these challenges, so the challenges where you do more of it are always my favorites :)
thank god for people such as yourself finally making the hypocrisy of the buttons clear. not many poketubers have had the gall to challenge the button establishment but you’re pushing the boundaries. I love the variety in your challenges, it really keeps things exciting. Every time you upload a video I'm excited to see what is about to happen. I don't normally like watching ROM hacks, but the Renegade Platinum runs were amazing and it was just great to see something different.
Every Kalos playthrough makes me so happy!!! It was my first game ever and I play randomizers of it all the time now (but not nuzlockes bc I am emotionally frail about my Creatures) and seeing my favorite pokemon UA-camr play it more is the best thing to happen for me on this platform.

another puppet show!!!??? you’re the best. seriously, your deadpan humor is what makes these videos so cozy to listen to and funny to boot. keep up the good work bro!
I'd love a Rainbow nuzlocke for pride. You can only have one pokemon of each colour in the dex. in cases where the pokemon changes colours between evolutions then just go with the colour of the final stage. This would probably result in a team you've never had before.
That might bring some controversy and flagon likes to keep his channel away from controversy (ignore this comment it did not reflect the meaning I was attempting to reach and was out of line)
@@frankhorriganfromfallout2 Religious beliefs not “lining up” with people’s existence, and leading you to say it would be controversial to do a nuzlocke about pride, sounds bigoted to me. But I respect you leaving it up to him at least

Loved the video. If I may I’d like to pitch a future challenge run: an N-Locke In addition to normal nuzlocke rules you have release or permanently box all your Pokémon after each gym battle. You may keep one Pokémon after a gym battle but cannot keep the same Pokémon two gyms in a row. Example: you choose to keep your starter after the first gym, after the second gym you have to release or permanently box your starter.
Ah yes, the paper puppet show is part of why I love your Kalos runs so much. I like all the new additions to it that you made! The script for this video was top notch too, by the way. Thank you for the fun challenge - it was very amusing to watch!
I always love your recreations! They’re a fun little addition to a run. As for challenges, and I know I’m late, I’m just having fun watching/listening to your videos.
I love watching your nuzlocke videos. They are creative and really entertaining! I don't really have a preference when it comes to the difficulty. I'd like to recommend two ideas: The "good boy" nuzlocke, where you can only use pokemon that resemble a dog and the "crazy cat lady" nuzlocke, where it's the same but with cats. Idk how challenging they would be, but they sounded funny in my head!
Dragon is such a cool type, especially with the fairy nerf, so it's really interesting to see it in the context of a monolocke ESPECIALLY with a fairy gym
Something important to know when fishing in those games is that the least free space around your bobber, the higher the chances to actually get an encounter. There's almost always one perfect spot per route that iirc guarantees an encounter, although you have to use Surf. I also think you cast your line two spaces away from you so when you walk to the edge of the shore, you cast your like in the worst possible area Loved the video as always !
I was like.... 12? When it first came out? I dont remember which year lol, i got a bagon and named him bagel for shits and giggles and he then proceeded to carry my team lol
11:30 i really enjoyed this part, I found it really interesting. But I always wondered, how do you know your opponent's stat to do your computations? Great video as always, ty!
I'll be honest, I like your storytelling and jokes but not as much as I enjoy the harder challenge. It's the "see someone be really good at something"-effect. Hearing your strategy and amazing plans to dodge criticals is just such fun. I really enjoyed the Renegade Platinum Highlights because of that! Hard challenges are just super fun to watch
A dragon type nuzlocke of Pokémon Y lost the poll for a new challenge a while ago and I was very disappointed. I was screaming with joy when I saw this video come out. Thanks for the great content.
i personally like seeing you take on whatever challenge you want to take on! whether it's on the easy or more difficult side, i think you should do what's fun for you. i enjoy watching regardless of difficulty bc i mostly enjoy challenges that have a unique set up to go w them.
Correction that a lot of people miss, the nuzlocke encounters are usually only counted with one static and one wild if they're the same place. For example you'd be able to get Groudon and Golbat in the cave of origin in Omega Ruby
The struggle is what makes videos like this worth watching. I want to see the wipes, the losses, and adapting to it. I think you should continue to lean into harder challenges or more punishing rulesets, when the videos start to become formulaic they lose appeal IMO. For example, I used to enjoy MahDryBread's pokemon challenges but his lack of level caps seemed to make it too easy and the videos all began to bleed into each other with their template-esque style which caused me to lose interest. That said, I still encourage others to give his channel if you haven't; really nice guy, puts alot of work into his content.
I loved how you showed us the reason why Axew couldn't K.O. Meowstic and we got a peak behind the curtain regarding how you do your calcs. Excellent content as always!
This dude had less than 10K subs when I subbed. Now he's almost at 200K. Congratz Dr Flygon. You are the cream of HC nuzlockers. Love your content (and your comedic jabs). Cheers
Really enjoyed this video, we don’t see to many Mono Dragon nuzlockes. To comment on what you said at the end, I typically prefer your harder challenges where there is more suspense for tougher fights and we get to see you craft quirky strategies to get out of difficult situations. That being said, I really enjoy your fun and creative storytelling and side tangents in some easier challenges. Despite hardcore nuzlockes growing in popularity, you have a unique style to your videos that I really enjoy. I like seeing harder challenges where you struggle more (not in a masochistic way I swear) but I totally get why you need to rotate the difficulty in challenges. Keep being you Matti, love your videos every week :)
Honestly, this was a really fun video. The difficult early-game was exciting to watch, and the showmanship in the latter half (especially the puppets) really carried the rest of the vid. I look forward to the next ones!
No way! Dragonite is one of my all time favourite pokemon I always nickname him Toothless...of all the dragons you caught, and all the nicknames you gave...you gave one of my favourite pokemon my nickname for him! That's just mad! I'm also really glad he served you well.
fwiw, i really enjoyed the side tangent about the calcs. i find myself in my own nuzlockes forgetting to check things like my opponent’s held item, so having a reminder was appreciated
Honestly what makes your nuzlocke vids better is there is so much personality in the writing. Other channels might as well just put a text-to-speech program on because they're so monotonous.
Honestly? All of your runs are entertaining in their own special way. As long as you have fun making them, and we have fun spectating them, there aren't any qualms from me about the difficulty of any of the challenges. You do you, challenge man.

Your paper puppet shows are fantastic in general, but spraying the Aurorus and then having a band-aid on it made me crack the heck up. Amazing!
Question, could you do a run with with stone evolutions? They have the worst level up move set, giving a good challenge, but still have a great variety.
If he does it in Gen 8, he gets a team of early beasts that kill everything :D
@@grundgutigertv6170 nidoking clefable isn't in gen 1?
@@dabmonstr7403 excuse me?
@@grundgutigertv6170 you can get a nidoking before misty and it can have a busted moveset of thrash doublekick and two other moves maybe thief and bullet seed. You also can find a clefable before misty and clefairy's moveset is so bad it's mostly tms because clefable line gets the best tms and move tutors. Clefable can have stab mega punch before the second gym. In Kanto it is very easy to do this run. You also have starmie in the late game. That thing is busted too. Need any other reasons why this challenge being easy is exclusive to gen 8?
@@dabmonstr7403 Well, it depends on what game he does it in
Challenge idea: a true monotype run, each pokemon can only have a single type, no dual types allowed.
Flygon needs to see this!
None of the starters besides Squirtle would be allowed because of that 🗿
@@CelestialQueenLollipopTreecko exists
@@stephenharper1662 not in X and Y, only in ORAS
@@CelestialQueenLollipopNobody ever said he had to do it in X and Y
This is a scary challenge. Fairy and Ice gym leader, dragon e4 member, and champion has 2 dragons, an ice type and a mega fairy type
Could be, but X/Y are just comically easy, so it's whatever.
Yeah
This is one of your best work so far. The script, the run, the puppets. Just elite.
You make my weekends so much better Flygon! A well earned treat after the work week
Absolutley fucking ADORED the two-party system joke you put in there. There’s never been a president i’ve liked and there never will if we keep up this one-on-one fight to the death of a government system we have going on.
I actually watch the videos mostly because of your pleasant voice and to be remembered of the different Gens. If there are sick strats its a bonus, but same for some funny commentary. In conclusion i think doin what feels right to you should be right :)
I need to let you know that I legitimately laughed out loud at your Johto joke in the beginning. Thank you so much, that was another great video!
Same
Best video yet? Great mix of content in this one! I like competitive strategy but it honestly gets dry at a certain point, so finding out what went wrong with a damage calc or picking apart a boring game mechanic or bizarre scene breaks it up and holds my interest and makes it more digestible. Keep it up!
Finally a Dragon type nuzlocke! I hope Ice or Ghost are next, the rarest types are the most interesting to see in my opinion!
I honestly really love the "easier" runs, especially the Kalos ones. Your storytelling and commentary are my favorite parts of these challenges, so the challenges where you do more of it are always my favorites :)
the production value of the champion fights is always immaculate
thank god for people such as yourself finally making the hypocrisy of the buttons clear. not many poketubers have had the gall to challenge the button establishment but you’re pushing the boundaries. A real voice of the people. Keep up the great work flygonHG, one day the scale will tip and we’ll get a myriad of colorful buttons to replace the old system.
The Drogon/Homster part killed me, just proofed once more why your videos are the best.
“To compensate for the lack of dramatic tension, even more true in this play through, CHARMIN ULTRA SOFT” I’m dead XD never seen a better timed ad break
These Kalos challenges are awesome, loving the Diantha fights. Keep up the great content! 👍
another puppet show!!!??? you’re the best. seriously, your deadpan humor is what makes these videos so cozy to listen to and funny to boot. keep up the good work bro!
@@FlygonHG I ain’t a bigot. My religious beliefs just don’t line up with it. Doesn’t mean I hate the people themselves. There’s a difference
@@FlygonHG but in the end it’s your channel so do what you feel like.
@@frankhorriganfromfallout2 Well said
@@frankhorriganfromfallout2 Religious beliefs not “lining up” with people’s existence, and leading you to say it would be controversial to do a nuzlocke about pride, sounds bigoted to me. But I respect you leaving it up to him at least
I’ve been watching these videos for probably a couple of weeks now, and I always ask myself. Why do I like this guy so much and I finally realize it is humor is exactly the same as oversimplify another UA-camr I love to watch. I’m so glad I found this channel and I love the humor.!🎉
Loved the video. If I may I’d like to pitch a future challenge run: an N-Locke
In addition to normal nuzlocke rules you have release or permanently box all your Pokémon after each gym battle. You may keep one Pokémon after a gym battle but cannot keep the same Pokémon two gyms in a row. Example: you choose to keep your starter after the first gym, after the second gym you have to release or permanently box your starter.
This would both be wayyyy to annoying if he does not use rare candies because too much grind. But it would be alottt of diverse pokemon sets
This sounds super fun to watch and super grindy to play lol. But I’d love to watch a challenge like that!
This kinda defeats the point of a regular Nuzlocke, as deaths in a gym battle would end up being irrelevant, leading to extremely sac-heavy gameplay.
So kinda what Keegan J did? He did a nuzlocke releasing pokemon he used in a gym battle.
31:04 To quote from a different game series: "Dagrom - massively misspelled Monstrosity"
Y is probably Matti's favorite game to play through right now.
Ah yes, the paper puppet show is part of why I love your Kalos runs so much. I like all the new additions to it that you made! The script for this video was top notch too, by the way. Thank you for the fun challenge - it was very amusing to watch!
To be honest, I've been eagerly waiting for you to use Dragonite in one of your challenges. My favorite pokemon.
I always love your recreations! They’re a fun little addition to a run.
As for challenges, and I know I’m late, I’m just having fun watching/listening to your videos.
Another great video. This one did seem pretty easy but it was very enjoyable. I'd like to see you try an ice type challenge someday :)
The intro had me in stitches great video as always. Keep up the great content.
Omg Sapphira! Finally the Eragon books get the recognition they deserve.
Edit: oh no :(
Like Angela say , Frog don't exist
I also think you cast your line two spaces away from you so when you walk to the edge of the shore, you cast your like in the worst possible area
Loved the video as always !
Yes. X and Y are great because you get Bagon early on, and Salemence is my favourite dragon type. He's a pseudo as well, so it'll be pretty great
I was like.... 12? When it first came out? I dont remember which year lol, i got a bagon and named him bagel for shits and giggles and he then proceeded to carry my team lol
The 'two button' bit was subtle but had me giggling, good bit
Would love to see a nuzlocke in gen 1, it would be great to see how you strategize around the lack of/different mechanics
Can't wait till he gets 1 in 256 against a random trainer and has to reset
I like the technical breakdowns, it was cool to see your math and what you put into the calculations.
Also that Titanic joke was gold lol
11:30 i really enjoyed this part, I found it really interesting. But I always wondered, how do you know your opponent's stat to do your computations? Great video as always, ty!
I'll be honest, I like your storytelling and jokes but not as much as I enjoy the harder challenge. It's the "see someone be really good at something"-effect. Hearing your strategy and amazing plans to dodge criticals is just such fun.
I really enjoyed the Renegade Platinum Highlights because of that! Hard challenges are just super fun to watch
I would love to see a HGSS Run, just because its my favorite Region, and it has some cool Pokemon.
A dragon type nuzlocke of Pokémon Y lost the poll for a new challenge a while ago and I was very disappointed. I was screaming with joy when I saw this video come out. Thanks for the great content.
after seeing the list of all dragon-type pokemon, i wonder, when are you doing another nuzlocke on sword and shield?
i personally like seeing you take on whatever challenge you want to take on! whether it's on the easy or more difficult side, i think you should do what's fun for you. i enjoy watching regardless of difficulty bc i mostly enjoy challenges that have a unique set up to go w them.
Correction that a lot of people miss, the nuzlocke encounters are usually only counted with one static and one wild if they're the same place. For example you'd be able to get Groudon and Golbat in the cave of origin in Omega Ruby
This is actually the best edited nuzlocke challenge. I wish there is more like this
Suh
A mono dragon challenge but this video won't drag-on because flygonhgs nuzlocke content is above all others! 👌💯
Booooo!!!
Hey, it's my favorite!
How you doing, you fabulous icon you?
This means a lot coming from you.
HOLY SHIT WEEDLE
daddy
The puppet show was hilarious, thank you so much for that!! Very funny :DD And the video was very fun even if it was easier!! Good job :>
Loved the in depth Calc explanation! We appreciate your thought process throughout all of this
I loved how you showed us the reason why Axew couldn't K.O.
Thank you for the videos man. I have super bad insomnia, I love pokemon, and I sit up and watch your videos when I can’t sleep.
Honestly, this was a really fun video. The difficult early-game was exciting to watch, and the showmanship in the latter half (especially the puppets) really carried the rest of the vid. I look forward to the next ones!
That was fun as hell, thank you Dr. Flygon, very excited for the renegade platinum run
I loved that paper cutout movie at the end. Your portrayal of the moves was great and I Iike the gourgeist joke :D
That berry segment is so specific I'm surprised its even a thing. If I ever had it happen in my playthrough I probably never knew the actual mechanic
