You should go for a fairy-type “mono” locke in a pre-gen-6 game, using only Pokémon that gain the fairy type in gen 6. I haven’t heard of someone doing something like that before, plus you get to use a bunch of less-often used Pokémon. Bonus points if you use audino and/or altaria, since they gain the type on mega-evolving. Edit: another fun one might be a fossil-locke in either BD/SP or SW/SH, though you might need to ask your uncle jimtendo for a starter for the early routes.
In the cave that you have to go through to get to the Plasma Frigate, you can get a wild tynamo there as a rare encounter, so you could have had a full team of 6 for the end.
Finally a challenge where you use the magnemite line! In gen 5 it resists every type in the game except for fire, fighting, ground, and water, which is absolutely insane
I adore the style of explaining the character and quirks of the pokemon as the story goes on based on their nature and actions. I would love if that was done in more videos in the future, but I know writing a script is hard enough as it is without having to write characters.
It's always been something I wonder, bc the perma-death rule implies either everyone's pokemon perma-die and you just slaughter long-bonded teams of gym leaders, who act completely chill about it, or that your rival's pokemon specifically are immortal, bc you fight them repeatedly. Either that, or your rival pulls the 'panicky parent of a toddler whose goldfish just died' and replaces his team every time with identical pokemon, hoping you can't tell the difference

It’s a shame Franklin died so early, since Encore with a ground immunity and good speed is godly for a mono electric team, basically allowing you to spam Encore to keep opponents locked into a ground move while you chip away at it. It’s amazing you managed to finish the fun without a ground immunity, so great job!
This one isn't going to be as hard as an Electric monolocke in base Unova. But Clay makes a good case for being more difficult to deal with in the sequels. Intrigued.

*RUN SUGGESTION:* An extreme Nuzlocke where you can only use one Pokémon (whose final evo is) of any given type. So for example, if your starter is Fennekin and your first encounter on a route is Ralts, that encounter is lost, because Delphox already eats up the "Psychic type" slot on your team. This would continuously limit the Pokémon you can catch, but also determine them as you progress, meaning you wouldn't be able to plan your team ahead of time like you often can in most of your runs. Naturally, skipping an eligible encounter to save a type slot or two is a risk-reward strategy too. Which game? Any of them, but X&Y have possibly the most expansive dex and anything pre-Fairy means one less type to use.
Honestly, monolockes for drayano hacks are extremely fun to do and watch. I've done a few non-nuzlocke monotypes of blaze black 2 and they were always amazing, considering the expanded dex and movepools.
Heck yeah, Electric is my favorite type. Jolteon and Galvantula specifically are some of my favorite Pokemon of all time, so its nice to see them in action here

can confirm that Magnezone is incredible, I used one on my Brilliant Diamond team and it really pulled it's weight. I actually beat Meylene's Lucario using Magnemite, because it gets both Thunder Wave AND Supersonic for that sweet sweet Parafusion combo.

I remember when I first played white, I needed a Pokémon to fight Skyla. So I took out the blitzle that I boxed. Long story short, it stuck around, and Zebstrika is now one of my favorite Pokémon
@@BaconNuke my experience with mono steel bw2 is that your riolu doesn't get force palm til after the first gym, so you have to test the rng with strategic bides; then your next encounter magnemite is a must have later so messing up there isn't great. I've gotten like 21 attempts in most times not making it past the first gym, but it's doable if you just run around a bunch and evolve the riolu into a lucario b4 gym 1

I dont like the "no setup moves" ones, but perhaps rules like always editing the pokemon so it has the worst nature/ivs, or only letting a held item be used for a single battle before you need to discard it and find another item/get a second copy of that item.

Do a mono-movetype run in ORAS. You havent done one there and watching one would be pretty cool. Like just using Physical/Special or heck even just Status moves in battle. ORAS being pretty easy with you getting a MEGA LATIOS/LATIAS would be ideal for such a run. It also has its own challenges though like May battles Wattson and I would love to see a run based in ORAS
Funny you did this game I'm doing my own hardcore run of white 2 (hard mode) rn! It's surprising not as hard as I remember as after all but 1 Pokemon getting massacred at Roxie I've had pretty few deaths this game.
I think doing Rock Type in Sun & Moon / Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon could be a good challenge, especially since, with your encounter rules counting gift Pokemon you receive in the route, you would only be able to choose to use one of the fossils you can get in the game since you can only revive them in one place. The Ultra games don't have many more encounters compared to the normal versions, with the only additions being more options for fossil Pokemon to choose from and the Larvitar line. Other suggestions I have (some of which you've done the type for already, some you haven't) are Flying Type in the original Black & White, Steel Type in Platinum, Poison in HeartGold / Crystal, and Ice Type for Sword & Shield (because these are like the only games where you can get an Ice Type earlier).
@@3kojimbles895 only in some areas of the game, most gym leaders are far amount tougher. Elisa has a joltik with energy ball, clay carries sandstorm, elite four all have additional mons, etc. An extra move here and there generally doesn't offset the advantages given to the ai imo.
I got the idea of a Nuzlocke, where you "connect" two Pokémon who share the same egg group, so they are like partners. So you are just allowed to use them, when you have both partner in your team and if one of them faints, the other one have to be boxed/released too. For example if you start a run with Chimchar, who is in the field group, you need to catch a Bidoof who is also in the field group. These two are then connected and if you wanna use them, you need both in your team. Thought it could be funny, but also challenging to get a good team like that. I don't know, if it's possible or not because maybe it won't be possible to get any connected Pokémon at all... But I am sure, you could find a way to make it work with some extra rules or something like that
Maybe you could do a Middle Stage Only run? Limited to 3-stage evo Pokemon, and you can only use the middle stages? I dunno how possible it'd be, but you'd be able to keep your starter, so :3

Do a mono-movetype run in ORAS. You havent done one there and watching one would be pretty cool. Like just using Physical/Special or heck even just Status moves in battle. ORAS being pretty easy with you getting a MEGA LATIOS/LATIAS would be ideal for such a run. It also has its own challenges though like May battles Wattson and I would love to see a run based in ORAS
Funny you did this game I'm doing my own hardcore run of white 2 (hard mode) rn! It's surprising not as hard as I remember as after all but 1 Pokemon getting massacred at Roxie I've had pretty few deaths this game.
I think doing Rock Type in Sun & Moon / Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon could be a good challenge, especially since, with your encounter rules counting gift Pokemon you receive in the route, you would only be able to choose to use one of the fossils you can get in the game since you can only revive them in one place. The Ultra games don't have many more encounters compared to the normal versions, with the only additions being more options for fossil Pokemon to choose from and the Larvitar line.
Other suggestions I have (some of which you've done the type for already, some you haven't) are Flying Type in the original Black & White, Steel Type in Platinum, Poison in HeartGold / Crystal, and Ice Type for Sword & Shield (because these are like the only games where you can get an Ice Type earlier).

@@3kojimbles895 only in some areas of the game, most gym leaders are far amount tougher. Elisa has a joltik with energy ball, clay carries sandstorm, elite four all have additional mons, etc. An extra move here and there generally doesn't offset the advantages given to the ai imo.

I got the idea of a Nuzlocke, where you "connect" two Pokémon who share the same egg group, so they are like partners. So you are just allowed to use them, when you have both partner in your team and if one of them faints, the other one have to be boxed/released too.
For example if you start a run with Chimchar, who is in the field group, you need to catch a Bidoof who is also in the field group. These two are then connected and if you wanna use them, you need both in your team.
Thought it could be funny, but also challenging to get a good team like that.
I don't know, if it's possible or not because maybe it won't be possible to get any connected Pokémon at all... But I am sure, you could find a way to make it work with some extra rules or something like that
Maybe you could do a Middle Stage Only run? Limited to 3-stage evo Pokemon, and you can only use the middle stages? I dunno how possible it'd be, but you'd be able to keep your starter, so :3
