Can I beat Pokémon Black 2 with only Electric Type Pokémon using Hardcore Nuzlocke Rules?
Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the first Electric Type Pokémon on each route.
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode

@@bupkis3639 Flygon had repeated the same thing in different ways several times, which each time was useless. Saying that the move was redudant was enough, but they went on to add useless and of no value, which both added nothing other than the joke

You could also find Tynamo in Seaside Cave, so you could have had a sixth member and another Ground immunity too

Finally a challenge where you use the magnemite line! In gen 5 it resists every type in the game except for fire, fighting, ground, and water, which is absolutely insane

In the cave that you have to go through to get to the Plasma Frigate, you can get a wild tynamo there as a rare encounter, so you could have had a full team of 6 for the end.
It must be so weird for other trainers during a nuzlocke, like, they must be like “why not just go to the Pokemon center and get your Pokemon back?”
I just imagine Nuzlockes as horrifying parallel universes where everyone just straight up murders your pokemon

I am just imagining the look of confusion for other trainers as the nuzlocker looks so forlorn and sad when their pokemon dies
It's always been something I wonder, bc the perma-death rule implies either everyone's pokemon perma-die and you just slaughter long-bonded teams of gym leaders, who act completely chill about it, or that your rival's pokemon specifically are immortal, bc you fight them repeatedly.
Either that, or your rival pulls the 'panicky parent of a toddler whose goldfish just died' and replaces his team every time with identical pokemon, hoping you can't tell the difference
You should go for a fairy-type “mono” locke in a pre-gen-6 game, using only Pokémon that gain the fairy type in gen 6. I haven’t heard of someone doing something like that before, plus you get to use a bunch of less-often used Pokémon. Bonus points if you use audino and/or altaria, since they gain the type on mega-evolving.
Edit: another fun one might be a fossil-locke in either BD/SP or SW/SH, though you might need to ask your uncle jimtendo for a starter for the early routes.

I adore the style of explaining the character and quirks of the pokemon as the story goes on based on their nature and actions. I would love if that was done in more videos in the future, but I know writing a script is hard enough as it is without having to write characters.

It’s a shame Franklin died so early, since Encore with a ground immunity and good speed is godly for a mono electric team, basically allowing you to spam Encore to keep opponents locked into a ground move while you chip away at it. It’s amazing you managed to finish the fun without a ground immunity, so great job!

I love your videos! Truly has helped me learn more about strategy, as well as being super entertaining! Have you ever considered doing a "monotype" challenge with a specific Shape/Egg-group? I think you'd be able to make that really interesting!

This video has taught me that I've definitely dismissed volt switch too easily in my own runs
*RUN SUGGESTION:* An extreme Nuzlocke where you can only use one Pokémon (whose final evo is) of any given type.
So for example, if your starter is Fennekin and your first encounter on a route is Ralts, that encounter is lost, because Delphox already eats up the "Psychic type" slot on your team. This would continuously limit the Pokémon you can catch, but also determine them as you progress, meaning you wouldn't be able to plan your team ahead of time like you often can in most of your runs. Naturally, skipping an eligible encounter to save a type slot or two is a risk-reward strategy too.
Which game? Any of them, but X&Y have possibly the most expansive dex and anything pre-Fairy means one less type to use.

I love your videos so much and rewatch them all the time, and I’ve just realised that you said you lost out on tynamo because of jolting in chargestone cave, but you can also get a tynamo in seaside cavern (i think that’s what it’s called?) just south of humilau. I only know cos i’m currently doing a white two nuzlocke and could repel manip for it. Love your videos, thank you for being so consistent :)

Honestly, monolockes for drayano hacks are extremely fun to do and watch. I've done a few non-nuzlocke monotypes of blaze black 2 and they were always amazing, considering the expanded dex and movepools.

I recently realized that when the last four letters in a Pokemon's name are a consonant, an i, another consonant, and an e, Flygon likes to mispronounce it (Like with Magnemite & Arcanine). I've figured out your patterns, Flygon.

can confirm that Magnezone is incredible, I used one on my Brilliant Diamond team and it really pulled it's weight. I actually beat Meylene's Lucario using Magnemite, because it gets both Thunder Wave AND Supersonic for that sweet sweet Parafusion combo.
