"The title of this piece is the beginning of a sentence. Originally, for these program notes, I intended to complete that sentence. Instead, I have decided to explain what the sentence is about and allow you to complete it yourself.
In the transgender community, 'egg' is a slang term for a trans person who has not yet figured out that they are trans. Moments of realization represent 'cracks' in this egg, and once they have fully realized their trans identity, they are said to have 'hatched.'
The sentence that is begun by the title of this piece is an exploration of what the world might be like if 99% of humans hatched from an egg, rather than 1%. I invite you to explore this parallel reality and discover what it might have to offer." - Xenia St. Charles Iris Llyllyth
