Music is the best. Frank Zappa.
Wow, awesome performance!
Great performance. Congratulations to all.
Wow! That means a lot coming from you. Thanks for listening!
@@declanhayden we have played the black page in Percussion ensemble and I have used it as an audition piece. I may steel your idea with the dialogue which was right from Zappa’s dialogue. Perhaps with a Zappa like voice. You got me thinking and your playing was smooth as butter. Thanks.
A real toe tapper
NICE!! As I remember FZ, he was a professional first and very critical of accuracy in his works. I'm glad Mr. Haas gave that respects back to the public in 2020. Remembering that FZ got to work with the London Symphony Orchestra in 1983 and 87 and that is true musicianship.
FZ only worked with LSO in 1983. The second volume of recordings from that same session came out in 1987.
I saw FRANK Zappa play a bicycle on the I've got a SECRET SHOW , ON TV in the 60 's then in the early 80 's
Washington UNIVERSITY IN ST.LOUIS MO.( TESLA ) - ZAPPA GENIUS IN 🎶
Amazing job! You are a fantastic drummer sir and thanks for honoring FZ with this rendition.
And what does Terry Bozzio have to say about that? One of the best interpretations of Black Page I have ever seen and heard. Congrats!
Wow! I think Frank would be very pleased with that!
I'm sure Moon Unit is.
Frank watches this from where ever he is and he putting his thumb up.
WOW... JUST WOW
holy moly...great performance
Outrageous! Great job!
Great stuff! ❤ 😊
"That was fine. Now, take it from the top, this time without mistakes; you know who you are." Come on now, just close your eyes and imagine......that's exactly what he would have said. Then, everyone would have a laugh and happily carried on......... There hasn't been a musical good time like that since he left us. Proving that humor did belong there, and that his manuscripts are never complete without it. That was his secret; to be so meticulously serious, but never took himself or his compositions too seriously....... I guess you just had to be there.
Fab. The amount of concentration and skill needed perform this music 🎶 is very high.
It’s only a one-shot deal
💯

AWESOME JOB EVERYONE!!! Thanks for posting this!!!
Drummer: I can do this all day....
Wow!!

You heard the teenage New York version?

It really cleans out the S-bend on a cloudy day.
the most sparkling, precious hidden gem across the internet people, here it is The Black Page"
The kids are all right!
📣Super well done🎼🥁🎶🎶🎵
Way to go! And thank you for including the easy, teenage NY version
Well that took some practice.....can't fake this. Outstanding
Bravo! Beautifully played black pages by a crack ensemble!
I saw an absolutely wonderful ensemble group play some variation in Melbourne Australia, in the most intimate of settings, fitting in as we could near the musicians. I could hear and see their joy in the music, a moment to reflect on in my life. Seen with my very best friends, Zappatista all.
tnx for lovin zappa f ing brilliant
Very Cool 👍
Great piece of music, Zappa is the best composer from our times.
wow!!!
yes !
I played kit on this as an undergrad. As an ensemble we tackled this 2 to 4 measures a week. 25 years later, I still think it might be the most influential piece on my career. Not that I’m playing insanely dense polyrhythms every day. But it was the experience of learning such a work. Great job!
Awesome...
I have studied BP#2 in advance of writing guitar solos. When I read through it enough times, the rhythmic sensibilties start to seep into me and inform my licks.
Beautiful....
Mind blowing. Good stuff.
Great
Of the many instrumental favourites of Franks, this is one. I really mean that too.
Bravo!
Outstanding!
When something of amazing quality and substance, something exceptional and extraordinary comes along, it will always find its place winding through culture and time.
Extraordinarily! Extraordinarily good!
I cannot even imagine Vinnie Colaiuta doing a better job on drums. Trust me, that is one hell of a compliment! Maximum respect to these world class musicians!
Or cute little Terry Bozzio 🥁
@@sghantous Agreed.
Great Job Fellas! Intense Music requires phenomenal musicians. Keep Practicing! 😄😄😊👍😎
Was always a fan of Frank Zappa’s instrumental music. Black Pages was one of the more interesting and at the same time very challenging. This version was great.
Incrível, maravilhoso!
Excellent Performance, thank you !
Bravo! Incredible rendition of a complicated piece.... you made that basic Yamaha kit sound excellent too! A masterclass of musicianship.....
Wow, thanks for the kind words! Really glad you enjoyed it! :)
@@declanhaydenyou make me feel slightly.... rusty...
You all did a stellar job, Frank would be proud! You are only the second band, other than ones with a Zappa in it, that I have ever seen perform either parts.
Yeah, where's Dweezel, and the mighty moon unit, Ahmet...
MONTANA FOREVER!!!!!
Thank you so much
Just for the record, I went ahead and got down with my bad self, as requested.
Excellent.
wow
A thumbs up for the effort (and the dedication it takes). I had the chance to hear a performance of this magistral piece, live, in 88 (with the full schembang ,the entire band of that era). It left an indelible mark on mi mind. Probably the best concert I've ever been to!
ps I love the version in 'Make a Jazz noise here'
WAOOOOOOO!!!
Fantastic
That's an Amazing job! Nicely done! Just loved it! Congratulations to you and all your band mates!!!
Fantastic!
Awesome!! Very nice performance!! I think Frank would approve.
Brilliant. well done by all. Excelent executionm superb. Just wow, blown away!
Pero, ¿¿qué maravilla es esta?? Me emociona cómo músicos jóvenes de conservatorio tocan tan bien la música del genio del siglo XX.
Now THIS IS REAL RAP

Great job guys...
This is so awesome. Thank you
I already loved her when she managed to dance to Inca Roads a little :D - and then she totally blew me from my chair at the start of Uncle Remus. I mean, that's singing all the way from your TOES, woman! :D
This was phenomenal. Frank would be so proud.
Great googly moogly...😎
Nice username, friend!
Something to be Proud of.
look at those feldman mallets
sheer beauty
Waanzinnig zo goed he. Ik worfd er jaloers van. Maar zo mooi. Kan ik heel de dag luisteren!!
This is great
Is it ridiculous? Certainly!
Is it majestically awesome in in it's execution, causing one to be transfixed at the sight of it?? Oh, HELL YEAH!!
Awesome work. Great arrangement.
That was outstanding...thankyou....how many do you need to cover the percussion Ruth plays? 😅
Probably just one, but this arrangement covers every player’s lines with percussion. We added a bass, which rounded out the low end, but we felt that there was a good balance sonically with this many players.
@@declanhayden Mate...you owe me no explanation at all....the whole thing was absolutely wonderful....I'm just a smartarse Australian who noticed a few glockenphones and xylospiels 🤣...love Ruth too....cheers
Woderful version!😍
Holy fuck! That was great!!!😮

WoW!! Great performance. Thanks
This is the evolution of this Drum solo , that Frank threw at Terry Bozio , saying you lot moan about black pages , here Terry , learn this and get back to me , Bozio said he had it ok in 2 weeks , then Frank added percussion, and got to the easy new age something my brain is letting me down , but not this awesome display , doing justice to a masterpiece, zzzzaaappppaaaa
beautiful rendition
Super wow!
Fantastic playing !!!! Way to go Declan.
love it
