- A few people have asked me about this so here is a video of what I do. There are a number of ways of achieving this, but this is the method I use.
A craftsman!
Thankyou!
Great video
Hi, thanks for the great video. I'm about to refurb my pressure plate on a conventional clutch setup (different engine application), and had been used with a paddle friction disk, and blue high and low spotted. I didn't think I would be able to satisfactorily turn it in my lathe conventionally given it will have hard spots, and may not turn true, and that I would need to grind it. What do you suggest from your experience, as I've not done this particular op before? Thanks, Martin
What material is the flywheel?
@@ACDodd Hi, thanks for the reply. The flywheel itself is ok, it's the clutch pressure plate it's an AP Racing pressure plate, and all I can find is it is steel....
@@mfaulks206 you need to use an insert for hardened steel, it will cut through the hardspots.
@@ACDodd Great thank you very much, I'll do that. I love your idea of Engine Club, absolutely fantastic, great if there was a little community similar round here. Machine shop I've used for years closed, so partly needing to learn and do more myself. Bore and hone is my next on a Smart 700cc, small enough for me to handle. I see you sell some handy tools / equipment, couldn't see where to contact or look it up for purchase? I've got some V6 stuff for balance, where I have now swapped things about from my original setup, is this something you can handle? Thanks, Martin
@@mfaulks206 I am contactable on Facebook messenger. I don’t have a website or shop as I am already far to busy to take on anymore work.
Very interesting......thanks for sharing. I look forward to your videos.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing that.
Fantastic job . I have a problem with my clutch after a full rebuild it will slip on 3000rpm what could be the cause ? Thanks
That’s usually when approaching max torque, I would suggest the clutch is not producing enough grip to hold the output of the engine. You need to investigate by testing the unit
@@ACDodd hi again how can i check that and also can you send me your email address pls tks ryan
@@ryancamilleri9473 if you watch the video all the way through it shows torque testing
