I am glad to see that Sean chose this song to perform. One of my very favorite Beatles (Lennon) songs. Not the most popular Beatles song amongst the younger Beatles fans. But, shear genius to me. John sang (wrote) this when he was so wide-eyed and unjaded. The pure emotion that John put into it way back then, seems to be understood by Sean. I don't care if Sean is good or bad as a performer, the fact that he did this song, speaks volumes. Afterall, he has his choice of so many classics to do.
For some reason Dhani Harrison can sing his Dad's songs and be praised for carrying on his legacy. However the Lennon boys seem to get blasted whenever they cover their Dad. Definitely a double standard.

John is probably proud of his son for trying his hardest. He's probably sick and tired of being known as "Lennon Jr", you know, give him credit for trying to sing a song from one of the most popular bands in the world...try being the child of that artist, have no privacy to yourself and have people trying to see your father in you instead of you, it's no wonder he doesn't like being associated with his dad.
