- Julian Lennon's photographic exhibit in New York City recently, enjoyed a visit by his half-brother Sean and step mother, Yoko Ono. What's truly sad is that I think in time, Julian and his father would have become good friends and grow to respect each other as men. John could be a real asshole when he wanted to but he also had a loving, caring side to him that he was very protective of. I think Julian would have gotten to know that part of his father if he had been given the gift of time.

Agree.. I inadvertently had dinner with Julian Lennon in Hollywood. We were both on 1st dates, and the restaurant we both chose was overbooked, so the concierge offered us free appetizers to share a table and we agreed. I found him to be an incredibly open and warm person. By evening's end, it felt like dinner with old friends!! I've known about his troubles with his dad and Yoko Ono for years and have a soft space for him. I loved his debut LP, and I wish him all the best.

It's great that julian and sean have become so close, despite all the factors that have divided them. I'm sure it would give John great satisfaction knowing what a strong relationship they ultimately had
Wow! Julian’s Mom did a wonderful job raising a remarkable man. He is multitalented and such a kind, forgiving man. The relationship between the brothers is heartwarming. Julian has a lot more to be proud of than his father did. He doesn’t have to feel that he is in anyone’s shadow. His music is amazing, his photography, his writing, and most of all his heart.

Realizing "Hey, Jude" was made by Paul to comfort a little kid when his parents divorced made me tear up. Paul is 100% my favorite Beatle.
Paul and George are my fave Beatles♡. They wrote from their heart. They also raised their kids really well. I love the bond that their kids have with them. Had in Dhani's case :"(

What a talented, forgiving, kind man Julian is. So happy that the brothers have been able to put the issues aside in order to have a close bond. That's what family does. Wishing them both all the best.
Julian became like a father figure to Sean after John's death. He pretty much taught Sean how to play the guitar and helped to get his music career off the ground as well as making sure Sean wouldn't grow up feeling bitter and abandoned by his father's death in the same way he was abandoned when he dad moved to the States.

I believe Julian sounded so much like his dad when he sang his songs. It's like listening to John. He truly had the talent but the curse is "John" was the public's favorite of course and hard to compete like Frank Sinatra Jr. who tried to compete against his dad "Frank Sinatra Sr. He never made it. However, Julian did go his own way with photography which is great and so glad he is doing very well.

You're right, of course but, there was a major difference between Lennon & Sinatra when it came to family: Frank Sr. Did everything he could to help Frank Jr's career take off. Frank Jr. Didn't really compete with his father. It's just that he also had a creative impulse, too.

It's scary how much Julian looks like his father. I'm so glad he has decided to let go of the hate and forgive. He will live longer and enjoy the love he has for his brother-- way to go Julian.

@@judehylton9692 John and Julian were starting to reconcile through the efforts of May Pang when John was murdered, so he did acknowledge him before his death. Not saying that as an excuse for how he behaved prior, but he was making an effort and I hope Julian has taken some comfort in that.

He donated the 100,000 dollar for the appearance back to the charity. A decade earlier Michael Jackson was given all The Beatles NEMS copyright to appear. It would have been far more fitting if Julian had received those copyrights.
However, John did donate a lot of money to UNICEF. John's failing was that he could be really obnoxious, especially when he'd been drinking. In Australia he would been called "two-pot screamer" (a low alcohol tolerance).

And although yoko is vilified, in psychological terms she represented his anima who acted out his hidden feminine side. She was his fate for good or evil.
Many of us have strained relationships with our fathers. Few of us have to play it out in the public eye. Julian is a good man. And it is wonderful to see how much he loves his little brother, instead of resenting him, which many would have. It is also great to see how much Sean admires his big brother. In a way I’m sure Julian is the father figure he needed, after being robbed of John. And the strength of Cynthia, to seemingly forgive Yoko as well, is amazing. As for Yoko herself; as the saying goes, if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.

Julian is such a solid human being rich in character and love. I hope Sean realizes how truly lucky he is. I believe Julian is the greatest gift John could have given to Sean ! I don't think Sean will give Julian anything until his mother is not alive. He doesn't want to get on her bad side. Maybe not money but part of the estate, things important to Julian that belonged to their father. I think the sons will do better when Yoko is not alive. Yes! Julian has John's hair, eyes and voice. His nose, mouth and face shape however are Cynthia's. Sean has almost every one of John's features (face shape, eye brows, nose, mouth etc.) but as he is half asian, he still isn't the spitting image of him. And oh, he sounds nothing like John at all. Julian sounds exactly like John though, and sings better than Sean.
He's not speaking about accent, he means the voice itself.

Julian ALREADY knew that Yoko was behind it, and using Sean, again, for her benefit. But Julian tries to protect his brother, as best he can from Yoko's constant manipulation of his very being, to lessen the damage she's doing to her own son for her own benefit. Julian is a survivor of the emotional and psychological scars derived from John and Yoko's past abuse. What didn't kill him, made him so much stronger than Yoko will ever know.

John was pretty much an a-hole for a long, long time. Unfortunately by the time he got it together, he was killed. Julian's attitude is amazing. Hard to not be bitter considering how he got little of John's attention and then had to see him doting on Julian. That causes deep pain that no amount of therapy can resolve. It seems like his relationship with his brother has helped him heal as much as he can. I wish Julian would continue creating music but the comparisons were and would be relentless. He has such a warmth to him, I want to wrap my arms around him and give him a long hug.

Just an opinion.John Lennon was much more punk and a rebel. Working class hero etc. JULIAN had to learn those much harder lessons of introspection and standing on his own. Julian may have gotten his voice from his father's genes... but that doesn't begin to compete with the amount of class that he got from his mother. May she rest in peace for having known that her son would never be the 'complete package' that he has become had it not been for her influence as a loving, caring & nurturing mother.

I love the brotherly love here! They love each other so much and that's absolutely heartwarming. No amount of hate and bitterness could taint this love.
Julian has made it through the struggle of pain, anger, sorrow to find himself in peace & love. It's a journey we all must take in our own way. We can create the world we imagine.
I think Julian is less aggressive than his father was. He seems like a nice person.
Gillian Brookwell John admitted that he hit women. He abandoned his first family because of an affair with Yoko which Cynthia found out about through the news. Julian seems to be a better person than the father who wasn't there for him.

Julian made me cry talking so sweet about Yoko after what she made him go through he’s gotta be the biggest sweetheart in the world! Such a lovely man a true man.
Hearing Julian talk about his relationship with his brother Sean was very moving. Big hug to both of them for being the good men they are ♥️.

What I love most about this is that even though Julian knew his father favored Sean, he doesn't hold anything against Sean at all and loves him very much. No matter what the circumstances, Sean is still his little brother. Love seeing them together. So sweet!

Having met him at his home when he was going through a rough patch in the mid-90s, it's heartwarming to see how Julian has grown into a beautiful, wise man who seems to be at peace.
Julian seems much more together than any of them. It almost makes it a shame that his dad was such a big deal and he had to walk in his shadow. I think the rest of them should be walking in Julian's.

Exactly, rightfully his and IF I had something he wanted back, I would give it back in a heartbeat with no expectations of money having to exchange for what was to be his in the first place....ITS the right thing to do no matter what it is. That is my feelings and feelings matter.
We can only hope that when Yoko dies Julian will get equal share in the items held from him, as well as recovery of money he took out of his own pocket to pay the w___h. It is unfortunate that greed was used against him.
