The ndu does something with communicating with msfs ... it stops it. But this doesn't help everyone it's a very specific issue that causes stuttering and not everyone has this issue but it's worth a try you can always switch it back . 😉
Yeah didn't work for me. A little less than 1 hour into my flight and the memory cannot be read dialog box came up and the sim still crashed. I did everything as you specified with no such luck. I do have 5200MHz DDR5 memory running XMP mode but I am not turning it off to fly the PMDG 737. I will just fly the FBW A32NX until SU10 comes out and hopefully fixes this ridiculous issue.
Thanks for the comment this tweak wasn't really supposed to fix that memory error a lot of people get .. It could but not really geared for that it's more for the fps drop on long flights that a lot of users experience.
Didn't work. In the PMDG 737-700 (or any plane) and after about and hour or so of flying my FPS tanks. I am at 37,000 feet over KPDX and its finally starting to tank. This MSFS team needs to sort out their garbage. EDIT: maybe it did something. Instead of turning into a complete stutter fest, I went from a locked 30 to 25-26 fps so at least it doesnt crash or go into the single digits. I guess I should I say that it did work then
Yeah they still have issues when you get near an airport but you gave it a shot not all issues are caused by the same fault so it can be hard to track down a solution to problems . Thanks for the comment 😀
I'm gonna just wait for DLSS. what's the point in downloading extra 3rd party software to make a game work like it's supposed to. I do that with cities skylines because I have so many mods I need to manage the 32gigs of ram in my system.
Hello everyone! I set everything up as in the video, but terrible brakes appear at the end of the flight, what should I do? My system I7-11700K, rtx 3080(12 gb), RAM-32Gb
Hello, thanks for the video. A new flag has appeared under Enable Custom Timer Resolution which is "Use GlobalTimerResolutionRequests" suggested for windows 11 user only. Since I'm a windows 11 user do you think I should turn it on?
Good advice! So does one have to start up this app each time we play MSFS? Will it stop the stutters when approaching airports (as it loads aircraft -AIG Traffic etc…)? Thx!
Yes this needs to be started before you run msfs . That's why I suggest to tick the box to start the application because it does not auto start. Than make sure you hit the start button. As far as stutters when approaching airports not sure especially with aig it takes a lot to load all the liveries in and also any live traffic but it will make sure you have a buffer in your memory so if you get a spike it should help eliminate that stutter. But not all stutters are caused by the same thing so need to keep that in mind the stutters you get on approach is internet speed and the liveries to load as well as scenery so many things there that cause stutters.
These 2 Simple settings can improve FPS and REDUCE input latency in MOST GAMES *BEST SETTINGS* Panjno Remarkably similar. Gosh, even down to one of his little idiosyncrasies......... published 3 months ago.

Thank you for another great video, One question if I may, is this ISLC program running in the back ground all the time or do I have to turn it on all the time? Thank you for your time.
It is not by default going to run in the background it must be started manually that's why I recommend to tick the box to auto run the app on startup but you still need to hit the start button and minimize it.
Hi there and thanks for sharing your great vids. I enjoy them as I use a very similar system that I can tweak the same way as you do. About the Intelligent list standby. How can you make sure you don't have to set the whole thing every time your restart your pc ?
Thanks for the comment . You shouldn't need to re adjust any setting in the program after you do it the 1st time. The only thing to do when the program starts when your pc boots is to hit the start button and minimize it.
Thank you fo rhis awesome advise. Do you have any advice regarding how often I should 'purge standby list' in the program? Should I do it before booting the sim? Current I have it running minimised once I press 'start'.
Interesting. I still fly FSX occasionally, I have a large hanger of planes that will probably never come to MSFS. Do you think this will help with the age old OOM problem.
@@2020fsers Out Of Memory error Looong time Bain of any FSXer especially on a fully loaded install with lots of addon scenery and complex planes. Always results in a CTD with a popup message.
Hi Fred, there is nothing you can do about the OOM. FSX is a 32bit program and can use max 3.5 GB of RAM. You may have 64 GB in your system, FSX can max use 3.5 GB. Even M$ can’t do anything to it. If you want to fly your FSX planes, some of them you can use in P3D version 4 and higher (version 4 is 64bit), some of them are not working at all. Hope this makes sence.
Hello! I think this helped me because after like 2-3hrs, I used to lag hard but I think it’s better now. I think it’s because of that registry change from 2 to 4. Do you know what exactly that does? I’m interested. But thanks!
That's great to hear .. honestly im.not to sure what the registry change does something with Microsoft communicating I'm not to sure . Thanks for the comment
Changing the value from 2 to 4 in the registry editor causes you to turn off network diagnostic usage that has been reported to have a memory leak. The change will also affect the computer's ability to detect new items such as stick and usb items etc. This is a fairly safe procedure that can be easily reversed.
Hi 2020 FLT SIMMER, Can you advise if your recent awsome postings to improve stuttering /frame rates in the last few weeks will be disabled now we have had release of the world update 10 just yesterday from microsoft?.
I wouldn't disable anything but I would retest things on and off again just to make sure. The wu I doubt made much of improvements in performance but I can be wrong I haven't got to test it as of yet.
Ok you have to explain how you have that in your system. How many sticks are in there and what gb are they . But to answer your question divide by half and use that number in the program box.
I do not know if this is the reason or not but I was having ctd during flight every time it seemed and I always got the blue memory leak msg every time. After removing everything I found the problem to be....
Yes you can to help with build up of memory.. use 32000 in the box field . Let me know any results I'd be interested to know if it does help any on 64gig systems .
I did go over in the beginning that this may possibly fix any high fps spikes on long haul flights. And may also help with stutters . I also posted the same info in the description. This will not solve every issue but this is common theme across the board . It does not do anything for me as I don't have those issues with spikes on fps I can only go on what the community have told me.
this is embarrassing that people have to do all of this just to run the sim properly... no bashing on you, bashing on microsoft for allowing their application to be so garbage after such a long time since release.
Hey there I took no offense to your comment I agree msfs2020 needs to get their sim straight ... but I still say it's because they included Xbox in the same platform they should have had 2 Sims depending on the device used. Thanks for the comment 👍 😀
@@MichaelSeeds Thanks Mike. I was hoping it might help with the horrible MSFS leak. I cannot fly more than about 1400 miles before the sim becomes a slideshow. yes you just minimize it but make sure that you hit the start button before you minimize it.... thanks for the question i did also post a pinned comment
What does the NDU setting control? How does this setting function? It would be nice if Asobo would just fix their product.
Doesn't work for me. Still fps goes down during the flight, making impossible to do more than 1 sector.
Quick CPU recomended go to memory section and apply auto cleaner in time Mode For 2 minuts
If you are using quick cpu for memory cleanup you may not want to use this application I go over here .
@@2020fsers
for MSFS 2020 I am doing much better I am doing 15-hour flights without performance drop
Good to hear
@@2020fsers Well, I have followed your guide and the new guide from Q8Pilot and now I have been flying for almost two hours without any FPS loss.
Great to hear thanks for the update
I'm gonna just wait for DLSS. what's the point in downloading extra 3rd party software to make a game work like it's supposed to. I do that with cities skylines because I have so many mods I need to manage the 32gigs of ram in my system.
Good deal thanks for the comment .
Thank you very much sir 👍
Your welcome thanks for the comment 😀
Hello everyone! I set everything up as in the video, but terrible brakes appear at the end of the flight, what should I do? My system I7-11700K, rtx 3080(12 gb), RAM-32Gb
Hello, thanks for the video. A new flag has appeared under Enable Custom Timer Resolution which is "Use GlobalTimerResolutionRequests" suggested for windows 11 user only. Since I'm a windows 11 user do you think I should turn it on?
Yes windows 11 users tick both of them
My man carrying us low end plebs
Lol stop it .. thanks for the comment 😀
@@2020fsers Ok, great info! Best is for me to just try it and see. I’ll report back. Very interesting, thanks!

Thanks for the comment

Yes that it fine
Hi there and thanks for sharing your great vids. I enjoy them as I use a very similar system that I can tweak the same way as you do. About the Intelligent list standby. How can you make sure you don't have to set the whole thing every time your restart your pc ?
Thanks for the comment . You shouldn't need to re adjust any setting in the program after you do it the 1st time. The only thing to do when the program starts when your pc boots is to hit the start button and minimize it.
Thanks for the tip. seems to work good. do you need to manually purge before firing up msfs or just let it do its thing?
No need to manually purge but be sure to hit the start button
Looks like ill try this for msfs 2024 now..
Thank you fo rhis awesome advise. Do you have any advice regarding how often I should 'purge standby list' in the program? Should I do it before booting the sim? Current I have it running minimised once I press 'start'.
You shouldn't need to manually purge just hit start and minimize your all set.
@@2020fsers Thank you!

Do you Press start in the ISLC when you boot the PC or after your boot the Sim?
When you system boots. It really doesn't matter as long as you run it before the sim .
I'm having trouble lately with AIG Traffic Controller closing itself. Any chance the reg hack or this utility will help? Great video!!
Nope that is an issue lots of people as having with it I Recommend you try fsltl instead .
so if im correct once you start up your pc this will run or do i have to click purge standby list and start everytime my pc is turned on
No need to hit the purge standby just hit the run button and minimize it all done .
@@2020fsers oh ok so if im going to play a game just let it run in the background
Yes sir
What is the name of the fps monitor used in your video
It's in msfs turn on developer mode and at the top go to options I think and turn on fps .
Interesting.
I still fly FSX occasionally, I have a large hanger of planes that will probably never come to MSFS. Do you think this will help with the age old OOM problem.
Ok so now you stumped me what is oom. Sorry I have no idea lol but this should help with all Sims at least the tool I show should
@@2020fsers Out Of Memory error
Looong time Bain of any FSXer especially on a fully loaded install with lots of addon scenery and complex planes.
Always results in a CTD with a popup message.
Oh yeah that error no sorry this will not do anything for that MS needs to get off their butt and fix that .
I think maybe you misinterpreted my questionI am not going to disable any tweaks my point was would the world update disable the tweaks?
Oh oh sorry no it should not.
What is the name of the benchmark program?
You mean the fps counter? It's in game turn on developer mode and then the options tab at the top go down to fps counter and select that.
Thank you!!!!!!

no start file when i copied and paste your file location Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Ndu
Click on the ndu folder and maybe that will open the files on the right
@@2020fsers Making tips videos and changes in the registry without knowing what these changes cause is reprehensible and poorly thought out.
Changing the value from 2 to 4 in the registry editor causes you to turn off network diagnostic usage that has been reported to have a memory leak. The change will also affect the computer's ability to detect new items such as stick and usb items etc. This is a fairly safe procedure that can be easily reversed.
Thanks for the info
Hi 2020 FLT SIMMER, Can you advise if your recent awsome postings to improve stuttering /frame rates in the last few weeks will be disabled now we have had release of the world update 10 just yesterday from microsoft?.
I wouldn't disable anything but I would retest things on and off again just to make sure. The wu I doubt made much of improvements in performance but I can be wrong I haven't got to test it as of yet.
Thank ls for the comment
When I restart my pc do I need to purge and click start again, and then open the sim?
No need to manually purge just hit the start button and minimize it and your all set.
what can I use for 12 GB ram?:(
I should do the application steps everytime before flying or i leave it opened in the background and purge it every now and then?
Just hit the start button and minimize
in the ISLC program do you need to purge the standby list each time before pressing start
No I don't. It is just a manual purge
what about for 8 gigs ram users? what nunber should we put?
Ok I didn't add the 8 gig because I didn't think msfs would work with 8 sorry use 4096 in the the box for 8gig.
Just upgrade it... that's a real bottleneck for MSFS
Make sure you enable xmp mode after the upgrade in your bios. Otherwise you won't get the advertised mhz on the ram.
@@2020fsers now you acctually know that theres people running It on 8 gig ram 🤣
Yes I do now lol 😆
Great video thanks so the value for 32GB of ram is still 16000?
Yes it is . Thanks for the comment 👍 😀
i have 172.92 gb ram, how do i know which numbers to put in?
Ok you have to explain how you have that in your system. How many sticks are in there and what gb are they . But to answer your question divide by half and use that number in the program box.
Are you sure you aren’t mistaking hard disc space for memory Thomas? It’s a very high and random number for ram
@@r-mackphotography6424 no sorry my bad, I've 127.92 gb ram....ooops lol
I thought the same
Ok so you must have 2 64gig sticks set the box at 64000 then in the tool
Hi! Should it help to fix a CTD with "Memory couldn't be read/write" during cruise stage of flight?

No this will not help with that at all.

I do not know if this is the reason or not but I was having ctd during flight every time it seemed and I always got the blue memory leak msg every time. After removing everything I found the problem to be....
Just kidding. It was the developer mode using the replay, turned that off and voila! But now you would have to use external recording
think its still needed with 32gb ddr5 ram?
I believe so the islc will purge your build up of memory .
Can you purge Standby list while flying?
Yes you can
does the app need to be open to make it work, or can i close it?
Keep the app open minimized
Hi 2020 fs'ers and everyone. Does this could be apply to "fix" the memory could not be read error? Thanks a lot for your videos!
No I can confirm for me at least it doesn't fix that issue
But the program in the video for me reduced the memory issue .
Do You still recon to use if I have 64GB RAM?
Yes you can to help with build up of memory.. use 32000 in the box field . Let me know any results I'd be interested to know if it does help any on 64gig systems .
@@2020fsers Yeah, its work! Cheers, much better
Great to hear thanks 😊
Would be great if you could explain at the start of the video what are you suggesting to more detail and what the potential benefits are. THX
What number should I use for 24gb of ram?
12000

this is embarrassing that people have to do all of this just to run the sim properly... no bashing on you, bashing on microsoft for allowing their application to be so garbage after such a long time since release.

@@MichaelSeeds Thanks Mike. I was hoping it might help with the horrible MSFS leak. I cannot fly more than about 1400 miles before the sim becomes a slideshow. It doesn’t happen in P3D or Xplane so it is clearly MSFS related.
I hope Asobo will fix in in SU10 but given that it has been there for several updates now, I am not holding my breath.
What exactly does this do? 🤷♂️☺️😬
What part the registry thing or the application?
@@2020fsers sorry for not specifying. The registry that is?
I just did a flight after applying both these fixes and unfortunately I still have severe micro stutters constantly.
Ok so the registry edit is to stop Microsoft from communicating causing a stutter but more for long haul flights. I do t have the issue so it doesn't do anything for me but lots of others it works for if you have that specific issue . Have you watched the settings video I did along with the driver hack video? Also the windows setting video all 3 are a great starting point .

Please stop sharing "tweaks" for which you don't know the reason of, ESPECIALLY editing the registry. Try to understand what you're doing and why, before uploading blind follow me guides on UA-cam, as you can seriously negatively impact the performance of not only MSFS, but someone's entire system this way..
This is a known tweak in the community I'm not sure if it even applies now on su12. But thanks for the comment. I'm sure you can read all the comments of people it has helped but not all tweaks work for everyone so you always have the ability to revert the change.
@@2020fsers absolutely! And btw - I watched some of your videos where you nicely explain why you're changing some of the settings. They even helped me a bunch! And you seem like a really nice person, which is great.
All I was trying to say is give people the option to make an informed decision - that's wherr the work comes in on your part. The Registry Editor is unfortunatley not completely harmless.
Nonetheless, keep up the good work man 😎
