    IMPORTANT: One thing I forgot:
    1. With the sim is running, right-click on flightsimulator.exe and select "Induce Performance Mode" from the dropdown menu (see this menu at 06:05 in the video). This will make sure your PC is running in performance mode whenever MSFS is running.
    2. Then right-click on flightsimulator.exe again, go to CPU Affinity, and make sure your CPU settings are correct (core 0 disabled, all other P-cores enabled).
    Sorry for the oversight, this was a complicated video to make!

    Dude. This is truly Amazing. My 13600K is like a brand new I7 or something. The game runs amazing now! I set my affinity to use Hyperthreading, some said to turn that off but it works better for me with it on, the performance before was meh to ok. Now it's actually hitting my adpative Vsync everywhere except heavy places like New York. It's truly amazing what process lasso does when set up right.

I've been using Process Lasso for over a year now and it's been essential for running full resolution on my Quest 3 VR in MSFS. @@Level10Productions wow, i hear you, but that is a long list. I wish i had documented it all. Below are what i found to be must influential. 1- Running a custom Windows OS called Revision. It is a highly customized OS for low latency gaming. 2) Always installing drivers with NVCleanInstall, this allows you to install debloated drivers which yield higher performance than regular drivers installation, 3) following the guides of IslandSimPilot, 2020 fs'ers and VR Flight Sim Guy.

    Just a word of warning: in VR, for the Aero and Q3, Process Lasso can cause extreme instability. This is a common complaint among *some* users of the aforementioned headsets. Some people swear by it. I can’t seem to use it with my 13900k and 4090 but I know others can. Your mileage may vary, of course.

    This is not about Microsoft flight simulator, however I wanted to just say that I am using lasso because somebody told me that it could help with my loading times with dcs. All the sudden for no reason that I could tell it would take like 3 minutes for DCS to open after I click on the icon. And I have an absolutely up-to-date top of the line PC with the best of everything at this moment and 64 gigs of RAM and all of a sudden it just was not load. So I installed lasso and instantly my game was loading within 20 seconds and up and ready to go so just wanted to put that in that somebody who actually needed it for speeding up my load times and it works absolutely perfectly

    You took me back a few years... I used Process Lasso when I was still in FSX (2018) and it did make a good deal of difference in performance. Of course now, I only use my MSFS PC for MSFS...so my numbers with MSFS running (and edge and GSX), my processor usage is 17%, the responsiveness 100% and the memory load at 30%. These numbers did not change when I introduced the settings you suggested. This may have to do with the fact that I have a i9-13900k processor, 64GB of RAM and a RTX 4080 GPU. Where I believe I will get the better performance is during long flights (>8-9 hours) where the load on the machine tends to increase.
    For those that don't have moderate to high performance PCs (mine is considered "moderate"), if you learn how to use Process Lasso and how to do the tweaks, you will get better performance, especially if you have a i5 or i7 processor. With those processors, freeing up every bit of CPU resource and RAM will keep the sim stable.
    Thanks for taking me back to go forward!

    Love Process Lasso, been using for a long time as in the past I was an avid tarkov enjoyer and to optimise that on a r5 3600 was a pain. Now I use it on pretty much all games that are performance heavy. If you don't have the trial like me, you can't use CPU sets, so you have to individually select CPU affinity, but I haven't had any issues doing that on my system for navigraph, volanta, or fsltl injector. I now want to test it for the fenix app, as I had never previously thought about that, so I'll let you know my thoughts soon. Additionally, If you right click on the graph if you will give you a dark mode options, saving your eyes when you tweak things in the middle of the night.

    Hi There ! Thx for this presentation of this piece of software. Now that you seems to have reach a plateau in your Holly Grail quest, you could add another target besides "smooth and crispy" namely "low powered". In other words you could now try to keep your sim smooth ad crispy while reducing its electrical power consumption (the fuel for our sim ! ).
    For instance you could undervolt your GPU and CPU, use an FPS limiter like Rivatuner that comes along with MSI Afterburner. I noticed that the power consumption is much lower when FPS limit is set at 30 than at 60.
    30 is more than enough in my opinion during en route phase at high altitude. This FPS settings are very easily done using Rivatuner.
    Fly safe, Cheers,

All other stuff like Fenix are on the non 3d cores. this gives me At KMIA/Fenix 12:00 clear sky at runway 27 120FPS when you take out the GPS of the limit by cranking done the render scale and make cpu limiting factor. @@sharkfisherman1884 the idea behind disabling core 0 for flight sim is to prevent it from beeing disturbed. Windows 10/11 processes mostly use core 0. If processes of flight simulator uses core 0, they will share core 0 with Windows processes, resulting in slower and varying performances.
      Disabling e-cores is a different trick. The goal is to prevent running with slow cores (e-cores a power efficient but slow). If you have an amd or an intel before 12th gen, no core is slow, so leave all cores except 0 enabled.

      Stagger and Invert will only help by separating programs out to use separate group of cores. It may or may not help you. Try running flightsim on its own group and everything else on the other cores.

      @Level10Productions ohh meaning I run either on stagger or invert and other apps on the vice versa?

    • @Level10Productions
      @Level10Productions 5 місяців тому +1

      @bruhitsmoh I suppose its better than no control. If you designate certain cores to favor flight sim but not affinity, that should help. Does it?

    Wow ..... haven't used this app in at least 8 years !!! I have an i9-10900K and I do not see E-Cores or P-Cores. Not the buttons or the letter behind the CPU names.

      The 10900K was before E Cores were added. It has 10 P Cores, each with hypertheading, so the cores will be numbered 0 thru 9 (or 0 thru 19 including the hyperthreads in HWINFO64).

    Wow, made a marked difference. Thank you so much for putting it out. Since you are a true wizard on these subjects, I was hoping you could help me in elimination these annoying popup message. I made a short video of flying into one the remote Alaska airstrips I made as it seems to create the problem most often. Is it a GSX issue not recognizing ground services, and if so is there a way to rid myself of the messages without having to remove GSX? Thanks and if it's something that will help someone else please share it and explain what to do. Thanks George!

    The easiest way to set FS2020 at 'Hi Priority' is to make txt file with extension *.reg and copy/paste following lines to it, double click and accept changes to registry and your done.:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\FlightSimulator.exe]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\FlightSimulator.exe\PerfOptions]
    "CpuPriorityClass"=dword:00000003
    Now FS is always running in Hi priority mode. Back to normal priority, change 3 into 2.

      Same here, there were sudden CTDs until I deleted PL. I was on a 9700K, now It’s a 7800x3D under a hood and there is no need for this, as the CPU hasn’t P/E cores and non 3D chiplet.

      When I built my MSFS-dedicated computer in 2020, I erred by installing 64GB of fast RAM. The consensus in the forums seems to be that it was overkill and a waste of money. However, at this point I'd think that it would at least make the Trim functionality in Process Lasso totally unnecessary. Is that deduction correct or incorrect?

    • @Level10Productions

      @@Buddy308I too have 64GB. All it means for me is never running out of ram. That kind of overkill doesn't hurt for sure.
