Mexican style is difficult to fight against, they're pressure fighters who don't back up with alot of slips and counters in the pocket.You'll definitely get better sparring against this style.
There are not many people in heavy weight who use Mexican style so that makes no sense

This is a logical fallacy that's made readily apparent by the fact that *Mike Tyson exists.* The *peek-a-boo style wasn't used by any of the heavyweights during his era of dominance,* yet he became the youngest heavyweight champion at the age of 20. Furthermore, the skill set gained by being pressured and fighting in the pocket *should be in the repertoire of all boxers, no matter their weight class.*
STING is the best competition headgear. However, I would NEVER use them for SPARRING. I don't really like having the bar because I can't see as well. A good sparring headgear is the MASTERS competition RINGSIDE headgear. Lots of protection, but you can still see.

I beg to differ, getting some heavy work done on you is heavy work no matter the head gear, but the damage sustained on your face (brusing, nose getting busted, cuts and red smile) is absolutely connected with what type of HG you got on, have left high level sparring with a bloody nose and bruised face using a high quality nose bar HG when it would've been a broken nose and black eye if it would've been lets say that sting, def makes a difference.

To compete, you can only wear the sting one and no other approved one or can you wear any approved one??!?!?!

Headgear isn’t gonna make a difference if someone is landing clean
Headgear just stops clean impact but impact is still impact, it’s not the headgear that broke your nose
Train what you fight in I did this and when it got to my fights I was more cautious of shots as I new if it was going for my head it will hurt you can’t expect for it to not hurt in sparring with your chin guard cause you’ll forget it will hurt with sting headgear on

Does the bar headgear completely protect the nose? I just had nose surgery and want nose protection
Not completely, but its built to minimize damage to the nose. The downside is the bar obstructs your vision looking down so youll be susceptible to uppercuts and body shots
You’re still going to feel the punches, it’s just not going to break your nose or mark your face up. I’d recommend a face bar if you work a job outside of boxing

Is it hard for you to breathe in a full guard helmet? It is for me idk why though, the one my coach has seems to be a lot thicker around the nose, any tips to help?
Try tightening up the loop on the top of your head. I had that problem with my winning headgear but after I tightened that one up it opened up on the face more

Head gear that doesn’t cover your nose isn’t gonna protect your nose, especially when they’re sparring like THAT, hard sparring is hard sparring, that’s where shit like broken noses are more likely to happen

@@MXG_Zzbecause the head gear is open face and allows punches to land anywhere on your face. Punches do not touch your actual face using a face saver. It’s near impossible(although it still happens) to break someone’s nose through a facesaver
