Fighting with a broken nose

In combat sports, a fighters broken nose is one of the most common injuries. It's not only from a punch that this injury occurs but also from an elbow, knee, headbutt or a number of other weapons fighters posses. More so in the sport of boxing, fighters will have the cartilage removed so they don't have to deal with the pain and time off from setting their nose.
If the hard or "bony" part of your nose feels out of place, bent, off center then your nose is most likely broken. The pain is definitely much more intense and you for sure don't want anyone touching it. Not every time but the majority of the time, You're going to have blood running down your face.
If you're training with a coach he'll for sure be able to let you know if you have a broken nose or not. If there's blood involved, make sure you lean forward and never backward. You want to let the nose continue to run, it will stop on it's own time (usually only a few minutes at most). As painful as it will be place ice or an ice pack on your nose to help slow/ stop the swelling.
