      Yeah that would be a great idea. You definitely want to protect your face from elbows because those can do some serious damage. Check out other brands too though, there’s other good face bar headgears out there that may offer more padding or better protection.

    Can you still feel the hit in the nose if the bar its too close to it? And can it still make you bleed?

    • @brazianreviews2232
      @brazianreviews2232  2 роки тому +11

      Yes and yes. It doesn’t fully protect your nose. It will still protect your nose from significant damage. It does a good job of minimizing damage so that you get less nose bleeds and don’t feel it as much when you get hit in the nose.

  • @mitchlim

    I use this facegear a lot. It is not very secure and it tends to slip (granted, my head is quite small). The main issue is that my nose touches the nose bar and when i get hit in the nose, my nose feels its 100%. The nose bar doesn’t really save your nose, unlike other face savers.

    • @brazianreviews2232

    Would that also prevent a boxer nose? I mean that your nose gets bigger over time or changes the shape

    • @brazianreviews2232
      @brazianreviews2232  3 роки тому +3

      Any deformities to the nose shape will come from injury or damage to the nose. This head gear will limit the amount and also severity of nose injuries sustained in sparring. I cannot guarantee that your nose will not be damaged in boxing if you are fighting real fights because you will not be wearing this head gear. I’d you are only training in the gym then I would say you are much less likely to suffer repeated nose injuries that would permanently change the shape of your nose. However, I cannot guarantee this because accidents can happen at any moment.

    is it bulky? do you get caught on the sides while slipping to the sides often?

    • @brazianreviews2232
      @brazianreviews2232  2 роки тому +1

      It’s really difficult to answer that question.
      I would say compared to other face-saver headgear it is Less bulky.
      Compared to a standard headgear, it may feel slightly bulkier.
      Either way, the size of it will not affect your sparring. I wouldn’t think of the headgear as being the reason why you’re getting hit. I would focus more on how to avoid getting hit, even if the headgear is bulky. The only issue with a head gear being too bulky is if it is too Heavy. This headgear is not too heavy though.
      I hope I answered your question.

      It does a decent job of protecting the eyes. If you get punched directly in the eye area, the gloves will get through. However, I have not suffered any eye injuries while wearing this headgear. It does not completely stop eye punches but it will reduce the impact and severity of punches to the eye.

    • @brazianreviews2232
      @brazianreviews2232  2 роки тому +1

      Yes you can get hit in the eye still. Sometimes a glove with enough padding can get through the opening around the eyes. If you have any sort of eye injury that puts you at risk, I would not recommend any contact drills or sparring.
      With that said. Boxing is not all about sparring or fights. Most of the time spent in the boxing gym is used for training that involves mostly non-contact methods. I highly recommend you still pursue boxing just don’t do the contact portion. There’s endless heavy bag drills, mitt drills, shadow boxing, footwork.
      If you really want to try sparring for the sake of trying it, ask your partner to do ONLY body shots. I’m not recommending this, I’m just saying this is something that I’ve done in the past where you won’t be at risk of any injury to the head or face. Please be safe and dont think that you have to do contact stuff to train boxing.

      You can see most punches, the only problem is there is a slight blindspot for uppercuts. Hooks you should be able to see. This is not a complete turn off for me though. If you are defensively sound and move your head a lot you will be just fine.

    • @brazianreviews2232
      @brazianreviews2232  4 роки тому

      It works just as good as other face savers. I think the best advantage it has over other face saver headgear is how well Venum balanced the weight distribution and overall weight. It doesn’t feel like there’s too much weight hanging off the front like other face savers. This one feels much more balanced like you’re wearing regular headgear. It does a good job of protecting the face as well, I have never gotten a bruise or broken nose when wearing it.

      @mohamed Hugh I wouldn’t say it completely saves my nose. For me, the face bar sits kind of close to my nose so if I get hit hard it pushes back into my nose. However, it does a decent job of protecting you so that you don’t take any direct shots to the nose. For example, only straight shots will push it back but it doesn’t get pushed back far enough to cause any seriousness damage. Also, only straight punches can cause the bar to push back into the nose. Punches that come from the side or underneath cannot hit the nose. This may be a fitting issue that venom needs to work on or it might just be the way that the headgear fits on my head. It would be better if the face bar did not sit so close to my nose. It is not the face bar bending back into my nose, it’s more of the head gear as a whole moving back and so the face bar also moves back. All that being said, I haven’t suffered any damage to my nose so far in sparring.

    • @brazianreviews2232
      @brazianreviews2232  3 роки тому +1

      @mohamed Hugh I also hate getting hit in the nose. That’s why I recommend getting a face saver headgear. There are a few other models that look good. I would check out everlast, rival, and winning if you can afford it. This one gets the job done for a reasonable price, but there are things that venom could have done to make it better. Make sure you do the research because they are expensive so you need to get a good one the first time.
