Music is universal. Language doesn't always matter, but music can pull on everyone's heartstrings and soul. I love Miku, Luka and the other Vocaloids and, yes, I live in Alabama, USA. This was a wonderful video. I shared it on my Facebook page. Thank you for making it and Peace be with you. God bless.
It’s interesting to see this video 14 years after its release with the improvements in MMD animation, motion capture used in the concerts and the release of multiple versions of Miku’s voice and smoothed tuning to the point you can’t tell it wasn’t the live Miku VA singing the whole song. What a remarkable product and brilliant idea to couple it with anime character charisma and presence. I wish I had been more aware early on to be able to implement the software and master tuning techniques because it must feel amazing to see your song presented by Miku at a Magical Mirai/Snow Miku/Miku Expo.
when you hear the beginning reminded me of Alvin and the Chipmunks, but I could not stop listening, I fell in love all vocaloids, I love how they have evolved and certainly show the best of them.
I met her 4 years ago and I'm happy for that, but actually I saw her in Discovery channel when all exploded ... So I'm here, trying to know the golden time of Vocaloid that I missed, I wish I hadn't ignored her because she become important to me, of course Vocaloid still popular, but how long?, Important creator left the community. Just listen the new PinocchioP's song for MM 2020 ;_;
Yeah.. I love Pinocchio P, but Producers like him and Hachi and all the other folks who say Vocaloid is dying are, I think, only speaking for themselves and their interest in it, because there's amazing new music and Producers coming along every day. It's only natural that people are going to evolve and, in time, move on to new things, but that doesn't mean what they've left behind is over. Just their involvement with it.
Watching this in 2023 and marveling at the realized potential. I doubt anyone in 2007 had any idea of just how much they were changing the world when they first developed and released Miku's first voicebank. :) Or how many of the songs that were first created with her would still be being listened to all around the world all these years later. What a brilliant creation.
Thanks to this video 7 months ago I discovered Vocaloid and I love their songs since then. They change my world's vision and give me unique feelings. Thank you Crypton future media, Miku, Kagamines and the unparalladed author: Ryo.
"a voice range no human could ever hope to match" Her OFFICIAL range in the VOCALOID 2 software is easily matchable by a skilled soprano or even a counter tenor.
What if instead of terminator it's the vocalater, I mean it would be scary AF but at the same time be sweet....I'm gonna become a super villain and do that...
it is a voice program, put to a hologram, (this is the easiest way to explain) if you want to see her live, you can look at this channel, we have her live videos
It's been a few years since i've listened to vocaloid, theoreticly, till recent mounths. Now i'm going to get MIDI cables to hook up my keyboard and learn all i can about how to make this stuff sound nice.
I do think it's really neat. I've just begun using Vocaloid (V3) literally just weeks ago. I've been wanting to work with vocals for a while. I knew for sure I couldn't sing to save my life so decided to give Vocaloid a shot. I'm liking that decision more and more while I continue working on my first song with Oliver. I definitely think Vocaloid would expand any new artist's horizons. Sure did with me :)
The original Vocaloid voice-synthesizing engine was developed by Yamaha, and a lot of the research into the software came from a university in Spain. Crypton Future Media then made the Miku Hatsune product for the newer Vocaloid2 engine a couple of years later. Hope this helped you.
@TehFruck383 Each vocaloid has a HUMAN VOICE PROVIDER. For example Hatsune Miku's voice provider is Saki Fujita. People like this because we are able to create with them, a person creates a song, someone else creates a PV, another person tries to sing the song or dance the beat, and it might be possible for the song creator by the creator to be sung in concert, etc etc, its all part of the chain of creation, and its growing.
I love the music fans make with Vocoloids. The music scene is very diverse with Jazz, rock, jpop, progressive, metal, fusion, and much more. Thats why I truly love vocoloid music. Its not just the personas but musicians that don't limit themselves with what they don't have. Also animators work pretty hard to make these personas live. Technology is so amazing!
Oops, sorry if I confused you! Utaite (歌い手 in Japanese) is the general term given to singers on Nico Nico Douga who cover songs, mainly Vocaloid songs, but they will often do anime songs and popular Jpop songs too.
It simply refers to the software that creates the voice. Vocals were sampled by the engineers of the characters singing voice, though the singing is sythesized by the software.....g5
When I read Luka Megurine's comment, I understand that in another way. It's like if the people that are deleting Miku, might do that to other Vocaloids too. After deleting Miku, they might be more confident and stronger. It is true we will not forget them. You are partially correct. I thanks you for pointing out that not all hope is lost and we, the fans of Vocaloid will always remember them.
To be honest, I don't care whether she's not real, or she's just a "cartoon character" (which my dumb friend always say that). But she is real in our hearts, our minds, our dream and our real world. And Melt, even though it was not the first song which I heard from her songs, but that song made me love Miku more and more just when I was new to Vocaloid. Also not just Miku but other Vocaloid characters are awesome as well! Man, I love Vocaloid and Miku! :,)
thanks to Miku ive met so many wonderful people... ive become very well known as Miku when cosplaying and I even have my own VOCALOID group! I get to travel a bit and meet more friends! but its really fun! thank you Miku!
The Voice synthesizers you can buy almost anywhere that's an online shop (e.g. Ebay or Amazon) As for the tools, you can go to the vocaloid wiki and check out most of the ones used for it. MikuMiku dance is now in English so you can go find and download it around the net. The programs do work on EU comps if you fit the requirements they have on them.
How could you not like this? Regardless of whether or not you like anime, Japanese culture, or Japan in general, how the hell could you not be impressed by a SINGING HOLOGRAM?!
I remember going to a con and seeing not only a girl dressed as Miku, but a boy with teal hair and a girl with blonde hair. I heard of the music of Vocaloid before and I liked some of the songs I heard, but this is the first time I did some actual research... I thought they were pop stars, not computer made pop stars! How awesome!
Miku-chan accepted into the rest of the world??? HELLS YEAH!!!!!!!!! I'm English and I love Vocaloid!!! I can't wait for the English releases of the CV's!!! Especially Len!! ;) I'm even learning Japanese because of them!!
Congrats Japan, you've succeeded in impressing me and freaking me the fuck OUT at the same time. That said, I'm a huge anime fan and this forces me to ask: when can we expect to see mainstream anime characters (like ones from Death Note or Bleach or something) bursting into life like this?
I like Vocaloids mainly because they express some emotions that humans... Just can't do through singing.Secondly, I am an anime and Japan fan so it's clearly obvious that I like anything connected to Japan or their culture. And another thing, it is really fascinating to me for a computer to sing just by streching someone's voice into million notes. That's not even half of the reasons why I like them, but I think you'll understand from this here:)
In live her hair is teal but in many artist,PV,MMD... her hair is usually blue or green so people may see different color about her hair. But what ever her hair is she still kawaii and sing beautiful. P.S sorry for my bad english
To me, a Vocaloid's voice is filled with emotions. However, without a brain (much less a heart), they can't even baby talk. Although, there are people out there who, either trying to put Vocaloid's voices to good use or just wanted to convey their feelings through them, will bring out the very thoughts of the master. The songs not only convey the master's feelings, it shows the Vocaloid's personality. Putting the right emotions into the right Vocaloid will result in something, well, epic.
Why did you get so many dislikes ó.ò So ok Yuki has a very childish voice but I love it when she sings sad songs ^^ I was very New too and said to me "oh my god,how should I know about all vocaloids and their songs?" I just said to me "I will not hear too much UTAU (also neru or Teto) to get not more confused but when I heard Yuki I just thought "this is so perfect XD"
...She doesn't have one currently? Well technically yes, but it's as of yet not commercially released. What I believe you may be talking about is Luka, but she'll come after Miku ENG and V3 Meiko.
I have no reason to hate this but some how I am very drawn to every thing that says Hatsune miku in it I actually love her singing even if she is not real. To her fans she is real in our hearts. ;)
For your Girl/Boy deal, I would suggest Miku/Kaito or Rin/Len. Good thing about Len/Rin is the fact that they cost as much as the other programs but have two synthesizers in them. That's just my opinion on two good duets.
do you know of any that are really good.. maybe suggest the best so far...? i am planing of getting 1 girl and one boy... so i can make some duets... and maybe some love songs...
Vocaloid is singing synthesis engine developed by Yamaha. They license out the software to third party developers who create voicebanks in a variety of languages (I say a variety, it's mostly Japanese, though there are a number of English banks, along with Spanish Chinese and Korean). Each individual voicebank is created with samples from a human voice and most have a character attached to them, of which Miku is the most popular. I'll just let this explain the rest. /watch?v=b8p2w3tDuks

when you hear the beginning reminded me of Alvin and the Chipmunks, but I could not stop listening, I fell in love all vocaloids, I love how they have evolved and certainly show the best of them.
Imagine someone would really make a good and up-to-date TV documentary about her or Vocaloid in general again.
VOCALOID IS LOVE
VOCALOID IS LIFE
My dad hears me, and calls me a faggot.
Less hate, more Miku.

Thanks to this video 7 months ago I discovered Vocaloid and I love their songs since then. They change my world's vision and give me unique feelings. Thank you Crypton future media, Miku, Kagamines and the unparalladed author: Ryo.
2:32 I'm sure that those dvds are the ones that they still use even today for the "updates" xD
"a voice range no human could ever hope to match"
Her OFFICIAL range in the VOCALOID 2 software is easily matchable by a skilled soprano or even a counter tenor.
i hope tht in the future people can make a robot like miku and make her like a human
:3 #MAKEITHAPPENPLZ
.... Yeah becuase that always ends well in the movies. O.O

And this is why I'm moving to Japan
Be prepared for really crowded train stations then.
You know you don't need to go to Japan to buy her right.................?
THIS IS AMAZING!
but u know whats more amazing?! rin and len's voice actor is a single person and its a girl! >:D
Yes, but you guys are like sooo amazing!! It's worth all the hard work!!

I STILL LOVE HER AFTER 12 YEARS
I will get crazy if there are no English subtitles.
The memories!!
Press the caption button on the bottom of the vid. Its the one that says "cc" in between the annotations and settings buttons.
she still is, they aint gonna take her off the vocaloid list, she is very popular by demand and they are not even thinkling about deleting her
yay! cannot wait for PMX's vocaloid concert!! ^^
13年前って小学生の時かぁ、、、
感慨深

This is rather interesting. Hope to see you guys around my neck of the woods some day.
@3:36- what do they mean by "Grassroots energy adds quality to the songs."?

Srry 2 ask but is miku off of some sort of anime or something? (I probly sound stupid asking that)
Really good this video , continue working for a new vocaloid's and music's :D
To me, a Vocaloid's voice is filled with emotions. However, without a brain (much less a heart), they can't even baby talk. The only thing I am thinking through out all the video is: Don't you dare change anything about Vocaloid, It's perfect as It is.
Why did you get so many dislikes ó.ò
So ok Yuki has a very childish voice but I love it when she sings sad songs ^^
I was very New too and said to me "oh my god,how should I know about all vocaloids and their songs?"
I just said to me "I will not hear too much UTAU (also neru or Teto) to get not more confused but when I heard Yuki I just thought "this is so perfect XD"

Anyone know where I can buy it? Its voice is a bit high and auto tuneish, but it sounds cool.
I have no reason to hate this but some how I am very drawn to every thing that says Hatsune miku in it I actually love her singing even if she is not real. To her fans she is real in our hearts. ;)
Hastune Miku is physically 16 years old but technically 5 years old. Shes gonna turn 6 this year, but right now, shes five. Happy fifth birthday miku!
For your Girl/Boy deal, I would suggest Miku/Kaito or Rin/Len. Good thing about Len/Rin is the fact that they cost as much as the other programs but have two synthesizers in them. That's just my opinion on two good duets.
Where did they do that? Because all I saw was Melt's official video.
i cannot believe how miku came after this video, still very hard to accept she is unreal but sometimes i just tent to forget that
which, video or others?
do you know of any that are really good.. maybe suggest the best so far...? i am planing of getting 1 girl and one boy... so i can make some duets... and maybe some love songs...

whats the name of the song when they were interviewing the sound/bakers? she sounded good there :3
The virtual anime girl might be the show case, But it took a human to make the music. Real talent. And I still love it.
"We hope to gain viewers from America". Job well done, as I sit here next to my Miku Plush.
Japan is so amazing with their technology. Vocaloid, hologram, watershot 3D screen. I'll pursueing my study there just to study all those awesome technology!!
turn on the subtitles? square button left of the "gear" button
i just recently in the begining of summer discovered hatsune miku and now i cosplay her have a million vocaloid posters and i am dreaming of one day going to japan to see her and the other vocaloids in concert and i am only 11
Vocaloid website? the video website?
Sorry, I'm on my ablet and there are no annotations/closed captions, and I'm sorry if I seemed to be rude, I was just kinda not understanding.
I remember this was the very first Vocaloid video I watched. :) Sometimes being curious helps. :)
aaaandddd, do you happen to have sample of your voice?
What's the 2nd song that plays in this video? After melt?
what is the name song at 7:10 and 12:00 ? Onegai! impresionant all desings 3d
12:00 is Packaged by Hatsune Miku
Can smeone please tell me the song playing at 8:03? Thank you! :)
i never realized how much work went into us
To all New Vocaloid fans: Meiko,Kaito,Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin & Len, Megurine Luka, were that Vocaloids thy were created by Crypton Future Media, Utatane Piko was created by Sony, Megpoid Gumi, Kamui Gakupo, Ryuto, Lily, Galaco, CUL, were created by Internet.co, SF-A2 Miki, Irhoa Nekomura, Kaai Yuki, Hiyama, Yuzuki Yukari were created by AH-Software. Yahama created VY1, VY1v3, VY2, MEW, currently there creating, Luo Tiyana, VY2v3, VY[ENGLISH].
This video introduced me to a drug-like addiction, yet safe adventure of Vocaloid. I Thank You
I kinda like the idea of vocaloid being the next future of singers
Where can i buy the software and will it work on a EU computer??????
@Ringworm1281 No not really. I haven't heard ALOT of people complain about her design. Just her voice, although those people don't understand that she has a large vocal range, like a human, her voice can go lower. Those people don't even give her Append a chance, I mean she sounds very real in Append format.
Anyone remember the one documentary where it goes briefly and it shows luka and other vocaloids? It has the song looking for and also mentioms nico nico douga and tripshots. If u remember it plz send. Me the link
With all this advanced technology, it is possible that in, maybe, 10 years we can bring our vocaloids to life.
Thanks! Er last one, what's the one at around 8:06?
Why is this your argument, and why did it get thumbed up?
how is the woman that makes Mikus Agree? and who can tell me how this program called? when Miku is singing on?
Are you SURE that NO ONE wants to have her voice? I would LOVE to!
This would be an awesome Halloween costume 😄. I'm here cause I love manga and anime, and I was watching smosh and they mentioned her. I didn't know what it was and now that I do I think the idea is pretty cool: except now I want to meet her but I know I can't 😔
im still here
maybe in the future after miku's concert finishes we can get a real handshake from her.
Wow! Thanks for answering my question
