Wait wait wait... Jeff and Audrey plus Ben Parks and Sarah Place in the same videos? Is it Christmas? Joking aside: cannot wait for the film. It's been fun following you during the whole journey. Bonne journée Jeff et Audrey.
Thank you for carrying the camera gear to provide novices like mea better insight to what has rapidly become a bucket list goal. Merci, and thanks. Great race, you finished.
Listen here Jeff! You raced, and finished UTMB, and took us along with you, that my friend is a GREAT RACE, and I won’t hear anything other than that. 30-32-34 hours, it’s all noise, thank you for taking us along, it’s always great inspiration when a video of your pops up for me to watch early in the morning before I head out on my runs. From flat ol SK it was great watching you kick that 10,000m verts ass! 👏🏼
While pouring cola: "I ate multiple bowls of soup with noodles, fruit, bread, crackers, cheese" What I got from this is that this ultrarunning thing is an all-you-can-eat gourmand sport in the mountains :)) Sign me in! I really appreciate your effort on caring filming gear for us and the fact that you got over the competitive side of the race and enjoy it!
Hugely impressive Jeff, 34 hours is a fantastic time and to finish it in relatively good shape. Your attention to detail is outstanding and educational. Looking forward to seeing the full feature, well done 💪💪💪
I tried to do a 4 day fastpack on that course just before race week and it kicked my butt. That 20 miles from Les Contamines to Rifugio Elisabetta was the hardest miles I've ever done. I had to stop there for the night instead of getting into Courmayer like I had planned. Congrats on the race the Alps are no joke.
For me there is no time wasted in what you said, you enjoyed the whole race and I bet not many people can say that! I run London Marathon last year and I was much slower than I would have hoped but I had a good run and felt good at the end and went running a few days later so it was a win of a different kind. Now you know what it's like you can prepare more for next time. A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU BOTH!!!
I absolutely loved the dual perspective at the Quebec 100 miler a few years back when Audree won so I am pumped to hear that UTMB will be dual perspective as well. Please take your time and enjoy the process.
Nice job. "small hill repeats might not cut it" ha ha ha. That is my story here in southern Finland with a 50 meter hill. In UTMB this year, I slept (rested) 3 times, one of which was in a medical tent for observation. The 24 hour rogaining one month before didn't help along with absence of long down hill training. My goal of 36 hours (secretly hoping for faster) slowly turned from 'run to compete' to 'hike to complete'. I arrived in golden hour looking like the walking dead. I'm happy you had a better experience!
Well done Jeff, can’t wait for the full video!! Just left La Plagne this morning, got on some of those ridges from your previous video! I’m a newbie trail runner, I find these videos really inspiring, so thank you.
Sorry it took so long to watch this! I was following you guys on the tracker during the race. Awesome work out there at UTMB...you finished it ...that's a huge accomplishment. Next time you can go for a PB! What a great season!
Huge congrats to you and Audree again on having great races and it was great to run into you at the closing dinner and share a meal with you both!!! Thanks also for the JOIA restaurant recommendation - tried it my last night in Chamonix and it was super yummy =D. Hope to see you out on the trails in Van (been stuck indoors here in Cortina with Covid rather than being able to explore the Dolomites =[ ) !
Having flopped on a long training run yesterday due not not eating enough, your experience with nutrition was a timely reminder to make sure you are fuelled up properly. Congratulations to you both on completing, was following on the tracker, and look forward to seeing the film later in the year.
First off Congratulations on a well ran race, completing this challenge in its self is remarkable. Then to say your honestly enjoyed the whole race and never really had a down point “Pain Cave” is truly awesome. You had a wonderful 2022 race colander with great challenges spread out over different types of terrain, so all and all a great year of racing. Can’t wait for the video 🤙🏽 and thanks for giving us the extra oz of carrying equipment and time spent to capture this….
I'm always so impressed by how professional your videos are Jeff, consistently the highest quality of content from footage to narrative. Thanks for putting such time and effort into an incredible series of Training Diaries and I cannot wait for the full videos to come 👊🏻
Hi Jeff Thank you so much sharing with us another episode. You definitely should come to south of France and participate to the 100 miles Sud de France which takes you from Font Romeu to Argeles along the GR10 and other trails
Well done Jeff, no easy task completing that race. I can relate with getting home with a mountain of trail footage to edit... 3 months.. 50 hikes and I've only uploaded like 20 episodes so far.
Can’t wait for this doc to come out, I was following both of you from the cottage in Tremblant QC, no matter what the time is, it is an accomplishment. Nothing in North America can prepare you for those climbs (and decent). One subject I’d like you to talk about in the recovery video is if you suffer from post race blues, especially when it’s after a long trip like this one.
Great work by both of you , looking forward to all the videos, disappointed you didn’t finish faster 😂 and also that Audree didn’t catch you but that time will come!🎉🎉🎉 so great seeing you do what you do and enjoying every minute of it.
I seriously can't wait to see your full video, something I am really looking forward to! Also, I really love your Training Diaries series, makes the effort to run UTMB even more impressive^^
Congrats to you both! Good tips for training and executing the race! The only point of disagreement: I think you had a great race just for the fact of having finished and taking lessons from the experience. Cheers!
Nice intro to what will indeed be an epic film of both your adventures! Looking forward to seeing that! Great tips as well for those considering this race in the future! Just need those running stones 😁
YOU DID IT!! I can't say how proud I am of you bud! I stayed up all night watching the leaders but I had you on my map as a followed runner as well. There were several of UA-cam runners that I followed and you were the only one to make it to the finish. I was also surprised how many people in the UA-cam chat asked about you. I had you up on my screen the whole time (or your dot at least) so I was always quick to let them know you were still in it and constantly showing progress. Of all the runners I follow I just somehow knew you would make it. Really really well done!! Be very proud of yourself. Side note - I had no idea it was that busy. All we get to really see during the race is the leaders so it looks like a solitary run through the mountain. Seeing those lines of people....WOW. That would for sure add a whole other element. Well done again bud!
@@afitcouchpotato5444 Right on the UTMB website you could follow any runner you wanted in the race and it would show a little dot with their initials on the course. It was great. You could then click on the live web cams as they got close and watch them go past that part:)
Great Summary as always! I can't wait to see the race series. I couldn't see the race, but I was following you and Audrée on UTMB live. Great job you both are insporational!
Awesome video, love following along with you!! We also ultra run and it is always so cool to find other UA-camrs who do this. UTMB is on my bucketlist for sure, thanks for sharing!
Congratulations to you both for this great performance! And thanks a lot for carrying the extra weight of 700 grams, to let us all participate in your adventures.
Congrats Jeff! The footage will be epic, cannot wait for it! By filming during every race you attend, I truly believe that you add up on the scale of difficulty!! May you have a nice recovery!!!!🙏🙏
Congrats to both of you!!! Great video again, always to the point and great edits. Consistent training and careful planning will take you a long way as you mentioned. To go along your race analysis, Mathieu Blanchard (who lives and trains mostly in Montreal and cracked the 20h barrier this year) mentioned in his post-UTMB interview how much he gained from training in long and very steep ascents and descents. Something we do not all have access to. Now time is not the most important in those ultra races. I see too many runners failing to finish because they started too fast or put too much pressure on themselves, simply forgetting about enjoying the race, which should be imho the main goal in such beautiful sceneries. Anyways, much congrats again, looking forward to the race video. :)
I’ve been waiting to see this!!! Not past the ads yet, but had to stop in the comments first to say I watched the Live Coverage all weekend to see if I could spot you both🥰 Jeff I saw you pass the finish line! Congratulations to you both ❤️
Great to see you back with another video! Many of us had a chance to see you arrive in Chamonix on the livestream and tracked your progress on couse via the UTMB tracker. Interesting that you all met Ben and Sarah as their race turned disastrous as Ben fell. Such a shame but hope they are doing ok. Anyways, congrats on a great race!
Excellen recap about your experience throughout the race. It must have not been easy to go with some expectations and not fully accomplish, but in a way being smart and evaluate the situation to take the most of it. I was following your progress and was happy to know you made it to the finish line, I know you had a solid training behind and you will not let yourself down. Not sure if one day I will be able to accomplish such a loop, but it would be a dream come true. I got to taste OCC in 2016, I wouldn not even mind to redo this race. But never say never. It would be awesome to make a family trip and see my daughters at the finish line to celebrate. Thanks for keeping us thrilled and hope the recovery is going well. Cheers!
Well done both of you! Amazing achievement. Don’t think I could ever do the longer race, but hoping to one day do the occ… but for now I have a 50k by utmb run in Wales to have a very very small taster. Whilst the pain will be real, I’ll have imagine the alpine views 😂 Can’t wait for video. Thanks for making such amazing films.
Awesome job congrats to you both it was good to watch your progress, and the little taster video was great, no doubt great stuff to still come for us all to look forward too. I would be interested as i am sure lots of other of how much of a benefit if any you felt (a) fast packing the route before and (b) the week at altitude was
Great video, Jeff! Inspiring stuff, as always. It's great you didn't have any real low points and got to that finish line. “UTMB is an eating contest” I love it, it’s so true.
Can't wait for the race films!!!
Looking forward for the full UTMB film

Awesome guys..made up for you. Glad you met Ben and Sarah..top runners in their own right.
I just happened to tune into the livestream and saw you finish, great job!
Jeff, the filming time was certainly not waisted! Thanks!
Actually watched you cross the finish line. Congrats and thanks for sharing. Looking forward to the film this fall. Rest well.
I absolutely loved the dual perspective at the Quebec 100 miler a few years back when Audree won so I am pumped to hear that UTMB will be dual perspective as well. Please take your time and enjoy the process.

Thank you for sharing Jeff. Watching this is very inspirational and also confirms why i will NEVER do a race like this!
Nice to see that you finished, cliffhanger regarding Audree 😬. Looking forward to upcoming films during the fall.
Well done Jeff, can’t wait for the full video!!

Enjoyed following you as you finished the race. Outstanding!
Congratulations on the race! Can't wait to see the entire video - and get a glimpse of the trails I hope to run on in 2023 at CCC!
Your a Legend!
Thank you Jeff for your generosity in sharing these experiences & tips. You are a class act.
Congrats on the finish at UTMB!! Your Training Diaries series has been great (and informative) to following along. Thank you for sharing your journey.
Cool video. That photo of the three peaks with the glacial lake looks like the back side of the Tetons in Wyoming.
Nailed it! We ran a loop in there on our way home.
I seriously can't wait to see your full video, something I am really looking forward to! Also, I really love your Training Diaries series, makes the effort to run UTMB even more impressive^^

Well done to both of you!! Can't wait for the video :D :D

I think you did just great! Great race and great videos!

You did amazing! I was following you live. Thanks for the tips. I'll try in a couple of years while I make experience on slightly shorter races!

Brilliant!
Great video, Jeff! Inspiring stuff, as always. It's great you didn't have any real low points and got to that finish line.
UTMB is a real goal one day so hope to see it for myself or at the very least get out and fastpack it. I hope Naak becomes available in the UK, I like the plant-based options they have! I've been wanting some waffles for a long time now.
Can't wait for the full videos on both the fastpack and the race. Hope you and Audrée have recovered well.
Thanks Mathew! They’ve recently expanded into France so it shouldn’t be long until Naak is available throughout Europe.
Great video great view city Running
Very cool
grazie
Really enjoyed this recap, but when you’re including sponsored content it would be nice to see a sponsored content ribbon at the beginning, thanks.
OMG I'm watching this with my kids, the last part when there is a sneak peak of Audrée , my little guy shout " you see, this is a cliffhanger ending". Had to share ,sorry.
will you guys do a Q&A in Whistler next week? Preferably after the 50km and in a pub.
Love it! We hadn’t considered that actually, but we will be leading a short ‘shake out’ run on Friday evening from the Salomon store.
Great videos as always Jeff, thanks for that 😃I was wondering which Leki's poles do you use ? Keep pushing, can't wait to watch your next videos. Take care ✌
Can incline reverse treadmill training help with those steep downhills ?
Also, Jeff , you filmed your UTMB race and still did a great time, haha. Don't be too hard on yourself ! I'd like to see you do it again without filming and being 100% optimal.
Thanks! I don’t think an incline reverse treadmill would work.
Congratulations to you both great effort a tough race looking forward to the doco ! How were the shoes did you run in the Pulsar SG ? Looks like Matthieu Blanchard ran in the S/Lab Genesis!
Thanks! I forgot to mention this in the video - I used the Pulsar SG for the first half but my feet started to get a little sore, so I then switched to the S/Lab Genesis for the back half which were pretty comfortable.
WoW that is a race that is incredible I am doing the totdret130 what will be your recommendation
That’s a great event, enjoy! Any specific questions?
