I just ran the UTMB MCC race on Monday. What an absolute dream of a place to run. Terrific atmosphere even running on a Monday, with lots of people on the trails cheering me on. Now I am back at work wishing I was still there. Good luck to the both of you!
@@JeffPelletier It went really fantastic. Placed 12th im my age group and I started running less than a year ago. 😃 Used tons of advice from your channel and a couple of other UA-cam running related channels along with a lot of running. And doing lots of elevation training (40k in a year). Fortunately, I am able to run tons of trails and did a bunch of prep races before as well to dial down on the nutrition/poles/shoes etc. So it was a lot of hard work, but extremely rewarding and emotional once I crossed into Chamonix. I wish you all the best for your race! It‘s one thing to run 41k, but a whole other thing to do do 170k.
What can I say? It brought back so many memories of roughly 15-17 years, going there every year. I was smiling from start to finish and recognizing places at first glance which I have not seen in 3 decades. It was also educating (the shoes) and as usual (is it even worth still mentioning) great cinematography...now the smile is giving way to some tears of nostalgia...thanks a lot
Annecy looked beautiful in this video and the last, need to get myself down there! Was cool to see the design lab, hopefully you'll get to capture more in the future... Best of luck to you both for the race!!
Wishing you both strong legs, big lungs and a mega-dose of grit and positive self talk. You have got this, now go and enjoy the experience. So cool that you both got in. Looking forward to the next update. All the best!!!!!!!
Another great film Jeff, it'd make ya want to move to France. The cattle are great 😃 Best of luck to Audrey and yourself, it's going to be super. Yes above all, enjoy yourselves for sure. Looking fit and strong. We'll be cheering for you both from Ireland on Friday.
Another beautiful part of the world, thanks for bringing us along Jeff. All the best to both of you during the race, once again you seem ready and perfectly trained. On a personal note I watched your video of the Beaver Flats race last year and it inspired me, as all your videos do, and I just completed my first 50K. I loved it and had used your training advice as part of the journey. Thank you so much for being an inspiration and running role model!
Good luck for the race for both of you! Hope that you get the goals! And for recovery you can come to the west coast of Portugal where we have some 100m climbs and freezing cold Atlantic Ocean water! 😁
Thank you so much for your videos ! We always try to go to the Alps once visiting our family in France, part of them live in Savoie and Haute-Savoie. Next year we hope to go. I hope you didn't suffer too much with the high temperature. I wish you both the best of luck for the race from Victoria !
Hi This place looks fantastic I go to Chamonix a lot throughout the year and for UTMB I was looking for somewhere new to go training for a wk in May before My race in Andorra in June. La Plagne looks great can I ask if you don’t mind where did you stay and is it close to the trails for running Keep up the videos there great especially the UTMB Thanks Mark
Hard to estimate speed in this kind of terrain as this one had a lot of slower hiking on the way up, followed by faster running on the way down. But in terms of ‘effort’, my long runs are always done at a conversational pace.
Grandioses those hills and mountains ! 👍🏻☀💚
j'aime les vaches.
all the best you two for the big race!
Best of luck to you & Audree!!
Two years development is nuts. It's great that they put that much effort into a new design though.
Another beautiful video! Good luck Jeff & Audrey!

Good luck to you both..I'm sure you'll kill it. Be strong be safe. 🏃♂️💪💪💪💪
Just picked up the Pulsar SG. They come in later today! Can’t wait to climb a mountain saturday in them!
Let me know how they work out for you! By far my favourite current shoe.

We rented an apartment at Résidence Pierre & Vacances. It was a great deal and literally steps from the trails.
So is the Slab genesis the Replacement for the Slab Ultra lineup ? Does this mean therr wont be a slab ultra 4?
Nope, there’s an Ultra 4 coming. I got a sneak peak at that one too 😀. I see it more as a replacement for the S/lab Sense line.
Curious what's the percentage of d+ you can actually jog/run in UTMB, is it even worth it or there's a lot of power hiking on the course?
Lots of the downhills are actually quite runnable in UTMB, and maybe some of the climbs. But I think I’ll be hiking most of them 😉
When you do "easy runs", at what speed do you actually run on average? The 2.5hr run was how long?
Hard to estimate speed in this kind of terrain as this one had a lot of slower hiking on the way up, followed by faster running on the way down. But in terms of ‘effort’, my long runs are always done at a conversational pace.
Good luck to you guys. Enjoy.
