- the evolution of one of my favorite scenes in the movie, where triton gives up his life to save ariel from ursula, and ariel tries to stop her! my personal favorite version is the second workprint from 1988 :)

The 1989 version is great, but the 2023 version is very dark. I do like both!💙
Darkness do to the quality it was very bright when i saw it
They are both dark. The 2023 just seems darker because it's no longer just a cartoon.

the 2023 problem is that their underwater scenes are very dark you can't see a thing

1:36 is a small little detail that I appreciate. It's always nice to see Triton show concern for his six other daughters as well as Ariel.

I love this sequence and especially Alan Menken's piano score! If anyone's wondering, the music in the 1/5/1989 workprint is from the Grand Canyon Suite by Ferde Grofé and it's called Cloudburst. Disney made a documentary short called "Grand Canyon" (1958) where the suite was used
Cloudburst has in more recent memories been used as the sample for Lonely Way Ahead by The Caretaker

I personally the live action version is much more dark and horrifying since king triton literally gives up both his power and life to save ariel. We all literally see him get destroyed and his remains fall into an dark abyss.

The liveaction Ursula is way worse than the animated Ursula. The part when Ursula grabs Ariel right after she told her she won't take the deal shows just how far she is willing to go to succeed despite hurting her family. She truly is a villain and doesen't have any character delvopment like some villains do in some Disney movies and Barbie movies. Melissa's Ursula is incredible her acting is perfect and the energy's amazing you can hear she had a blast playing the character. Hope she get's to be in other Disney movies

If you don’t mind me asking but after you do the storm scene can you do the evolution of the scene with Ursula that happens after the part of your world reprise and if you don’t know what scene I am talking about it’s the scene where she sees that Ariel is in love with a prince and how Ariel would make a charming addition to her garden.

2023 version of The Little Mermaid doesn't look like a digital From now on days It looks more like an old digital movie like the 2010s Digital effects And 1989 is better
Neither does Aquaman or any other underwater movie. They did their best with it. Underwater is hard to do.

What is up with that Tail? That's not Ariel's Tail, Ariel has a Green Tail, Not that Purple and Blue thing. Why are Flotsam and Jetsam Electric, They're Moray Eels, And Moray Eels aren't Electric. Oh I see they Changed the Species of The Eels so Melissa could use that Pun. Jodi, Pat Ken, and Sam were Better.
Her tail is green in the movie. It’s actually more like metallic. It’s mainly green, but there is some blue and some pink and purples. But the tail is mainly green. Yes the original will be superior but the 2023 action is still a good movie. The original book is superior to the animated movie live action. But the movies are still good.
Completely wrong actress for the role as Urusula in the live remake.
The 2023 version is cringeworthy, especially Melissa's voice. She should have tried to do her own thing rather than mimic the 1989 voice. You can hear the strain. As far as the visual effects in the 2023 version, when they're good they're really good, but when they're bad they really bad.
