The difference is that the DS1 team recognized the problems with the maneaters and then updated the AI and gave them a wider area to fix said issues. On the other hand the DS2 team said ‘what if we just made them fight 3 instead of 2’
@@Etnad-f7r there's 5 of them, but they're smaller and have very little health. DS2 gargoyles isn't too difficult for someone prepared, even a new player. I think the dislike for that boss came from the belfry luna being an invasion hotspot, making it a headache to reach them each time.
You don't actually need a bonfire ascetic to make enemies respawn. Joining the company of champions by the statue in Majula makes (most) enemies infinitely respawn, as in other souls games. Though it does makes enemies tougher as well, so you could abandon the covenant when done farming, if you'd prefer.

I think its because Dark Souls 1 is...actually just not very hard. It's like a less forgiving Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. I think it was only treated as 'hard' as it came out in an era of outstandingly easy games when every company was pushing maximizing accessibility and the (frankly easy) Legendary modes of the Halo games were considered 'extremely hard' (discounting Halo 2's jackal alley. That one is just hard. Unfun and hard.) But more Dark Souls 1 doesn't play like any of the others. All of the other dark souls didn't seem to design themselves around PUNISHING you for rushing past enemies, trying hard to force you to take things slowly and methodically, (despite actually being... a lot 'faster' than DS1?) DS2 also does things that none of the others do to a very large degree. I.E. Weapon Sweet spots matter hugely and assuming you don't have high adaptability, you need to think about the actual animation your character does. (this is why dodging to the side is often a bad move, as your legs stay WAY OUT for a long while, and a lot of the famous 'bad hitboxes' of DS2 are more, your s start differently and end before the animation is close to done, often meaning your toes are touching a sword blade.) Like, Dark Souls 2 is the easiest of the Dark Souls games overall, I think, because if you take it slowly, calmly, and know how to build, you'll do really well. Also, my original DS2 build, and part of why I'm so partial to the game was "I am going to use nothing but two handed crossbows. And Not use a repeater." It worked and it wasn't even painful. I even carried people through some bosses by just having a all adaptability, all stamina, all health char with only minimum stats for a sidearm (shortsword) and a light crossbow, and...nothing else. The whole game.
@@WereScrib You can run from everything in DS1, but what's intended is killing everything, but that dosen't mean you have to kill 30 enemies while archers and mages spamming from unreachable places that end up feeling like im playing Touhou instead of an Souls game.. There the encounters are designed so each one is intended (ignore the line of capra and taurus demons, and dragon asses, and dukes archives gets spammy like this but at least you can run). Using Crossbows is cool sometimes, but being forced to use it because of how with anything else that isn't magic gets you killed, it's not fun.
@@anstorner ...Dark Souls 2 is not easiest with crossbows or ranged weapons, TBH its probably easiest with straight swords like most souls games. Dark Souls 2 is just not a hard game in the slightest. I've beaten it with pure hand to hand, bows, crossbows, scythes, halberds, weird mixed builds, magic, etc. Nothing in the game forces you to use ranged options and while range is actually useful in it unlike most other souls games, it's not particularly advantageous. It's just more of a focus around dodging, positioning, and resource management.
@@WereScrib Shrine of Amana and Iron Keep does try to force you, unless you want to spend over 20 minutes dragging every single enemy away so every hypothetical mage and archers dont spam at you while doing so. 34:53 Very few people understand this attack, but Fume knight is actually hitting you with his right hand there. He does that simultaneously to the sword stab, so that distracts the player from seeing what's in their face
Its because he has hit boxes running up all the way to his shoulders that are so much disproportionately larger than the model You'd be forgiven for mistaking them as SpongeBob's Anchor Arms if they were ever visually enabled. This is incongruous with the rest of the series where the hit boxes are isolated to the weapon specifically and are shaved down to be almost perfectly to scale with the weapon model itself.
even though the gargoyles are just a rehashed boss, i still like it from the perspective that two different encounters across two games implies that the gargoyles are creatures that exist all over the place as a fairly developed species instead of just an exclusive enemy.
The Prowling Magus boss is the equivalent of putting a health bar on the channeller and hollows in the undead parish and calling that a boss. It's just embarrassing.
The worst thing about the lack of adaptability is that every other stat is optional if you are skilled enough, and the lack of them makes the game more hard as time goes on. For example: Health. Enemies do more and more damage so without leveling health you need to dodge better and more and not get comboed Endurance: enemies do longer combos as the time goes on, so you will have to manage stamina better and better int faith strenght dex: enemies get more health so you need this stats to beat them faster equip load: you need better armor cause the enemies do more poise damage (usually) Adaptability doesn't work that way. Different enemies and bosses need more or less adp to rol through their attacks completely not based on how far they are in the game. For example I had much less problem with fume knight on my sl1 than with regular smelter demon because fume knights attacks dont need that much adp cause they are faster, but smelter demon attacks slower and you need more s to dodge it, on sl1 you need to be frame perfect nearly
@castor Personally, I'm very mixed on ADP as a stat. For a positive, I think that being able to control how effective your roll is means that we can be as OP or as underpowered as we want to be. My biggest complaint is a lack of explanation given for the stat, and therefore making new players feel like it's resistance from DS1. If they had explained it at all, then I don't think it would be nearly as frowned upon.
or just get 20 str get a great shield and block instead of using ADP to dodge and you'll even spend less stamina doing that. Or get 16 str and higher vit and wear heavy armor and offset your bad rolls with mukbanging lifegems in heavy armor. Or increase Dex or int and and use range to minimise amount of being upclose to enemy. Or increase faith and cast some regenerating spells to offset damage taking. Like you have a choice like RPG games do, you know

I have just started a Dark souls 2 "Adaptability level only run", its basically this same run but with ds3 dodge frames and animations. So its just the sane and fun version of this.
That sounds like it would actually be more fun. On the other hand, seeing a level higher than 1 on my character screen is enough of a dealbreaker that I’ll intentionally diminish my enjoyment of the game for the sake of the challenge run.
You're gonna hate hearing this, but... You made the game harder on yourself. You can get the Ice Rapier at SL1. As long as you use the Work Hook you can use it, and it would have trivialized Blue Smelter since you can blast him out of range of his fire aura.
@agostonbazmajer1100 Never said I was a DS2 fan; it's my least favorite Souls game. I only know about the Ice Rapier because before the superior DS3 arrived, I used to SL1 invade with that weapon and the ring that stopped soul acquisition (Soul Memory tiers is the worst mechanic). Just thought I would inform him he could have made the game slightly more palatable during his run.
Part of the reason why so many hitboxes feel so bad is the developers put hitboxes on things other than the weapon. For example, Fume has hitboxes on his legs and arms depending on the attack, so if you're standing on the opposite side of an attack but you just happen to be a little too close to an arm that isn't even holding a weapon, guess who just got hit?
Which on its own, isn't the worst idea, yet for some reason getting elbowed does the same damage as the sword even at the end of the attack which is just.. aggravating

The hardest boss on sl1 in ds2 (in my opinion) is blue smelter demon. This boss shows all the wrong things about the ds2 mechanics: 1. you need to be frame perfect nearly with your dodges with blue smelter demon with low adaptability (assuming you have adp boosting gear) without it good luck. 2. The passive damage was extremely painful cause it would make me have to heal with lifegems, cause normally he would do 80% of my health with a single hit. and the drain would put me in oneshot territory every 10 seconds. (with low adp its extremely bad) 3. the mechanic of human effigies and your max health draining made this fight even worse cause I had to farm human effigies every 2 fights. It took me 50 tries to beat him sl1. Later on my normal run i beat him without taking a hit. Because I had s
Just soloed him on NG+7 CoC. On NG he's a piece of cake if you stack magic defense. He starts by buffing his sword and as the fight gets longer he eventually ONLY deals magic damage. So a one shot (physical) in the early stages is just a fraction of that when he deals magic (and you have the gear to handle it). Also, if you try to roll as a reflex you'll get hit, he can adjust his delayed attacks at will, and on the fly. You need to watch how he moves, and contrary to Fire Smelter Demon, this one is better dealt with while locked off. All in all, a superb fight if someone has the patience to observe the differences with the Vanilla Demon. Also, beating Burnt Ivory King lets you use King's Crown to its full potential,no more hollowing/effigies. (Tho on NG+7 CoC that didn't made any difference 😂) On SL1 tho it was the only fight I had to summon, although i didn't know how to approach his moveset back then.
Honestly, in terms of runbacks, the Burnt Ivory King has arguably the worst "runback" in the game. It takes no less than 5 minutes to kill all his stupid guards and seal the gates, and everytime you die, you gotta do that BS all over again. At least with the COTD, or the Iron Passage or MOTOIK the runbacks are 45 seconds at worst.@@Jimmyvdpost
You can also get enemies to spawn after reaching the respawn limit by joining the Covenant of Champions. When you're done, just go to Shalquoir to leave the covenant.
Part of the problem I'm seeing here is the hitboxes aren't always to blame, its that DS2 has a weird habit of having you receive damage late. And with low adaptability, the actual animations in rolls become MUCH more problematic. (Your tows stretched WAY OUT during the roll often mean your hitbox is present longer by rolling than just...walking to the side.) Also the reason the poison breath hit you from behind is it bounces off walls. A few attacks like that work that was in DS2. They interact with terrain. Also I think I figured out why people like or dislike Dark Souls 2. It comes down to: Do you enjoy bosses or do you enjoy playing the general game with mobs more? Dark Souls 1 feels like a balanced experience where bosses and the world matter equally. Dark Souls 2's world and general 'road through' a level is the entire experience and bosses are just caps at the end of areas. And DS3 has zones that are utterly forgettable and exist to ensure you don't get sick of boss rushes cos that's its own genre.
That explains why I like DS1 less. DS3 does bosses better and DS2 does levels better, so really the only thing that DS1 did better was the interconnectedness. Now, I love DS1. Just slightly less then the other two
@@elk3407 I agree, with Ds2 the areas themselves feel like challenges to overcome, whereas with the other two they feel more like preludes/accompaniments to the boss
@@elk3407see- THATS the kind of analysis on DS1 that I can get behind. It’s a classic for sure but DS1 dick riders act like DS2 is an irredeemable pile of shit and it’s just not true. Every time Feeble brought up Quelaag my eyes rolled- it’s like, “how could I not see it before? They’re obviously copying Quelaag and yet NOT copying her at the same time, and so DS2 is both original and unoriginal at the same time! This game bad!” Like holy shit guys, there’s 48 bosses. The Lord Souls are the first half of gameplay, there’s more to this game, give it a damn chance
I dunno. I liked the Undead Settlement and Irythil Dungeon more than any zone in DS2, and Archdragon Peak is close to the best in DS2. And, if I had to pick one, Farron Keep is probably my favorite poison swamp, if such a thing could be said to exist.
Try to watch "The worst hitbox ever" of Fume Knight closely - he's hitting you with his free hand, not his sword. Great video! It was a pleasure to watch it!
Why should a free hand deal damage? That’s still terrible design, only intentional instead of accidental. If they’re going to do that, they might as well make the walking animations deal damage as well.
i don't understand how executioners chariot would at level 1 would be bad, just use the chariot to kill the skeletons and be patient taking down the necromancers.
pretty fun to watch your run! I'm surprised people have so much hate for this game cause I always loved DS2.. the gimmicky bosses remind me alot of Demon Souls, getting there is the hard part. Shrine of Amana encapsulates it perfectly. unlike other DS games there are no stand out boss fights, except Elana and that was only because the first time I fought her I was already in NG+.
Finally, this is what this game was meant to convey. Dark souls 2 is all about the world wanting to give up, nothing is making you complete the game. but do you still continue? the essence and philosophy of ds2, masterfully conveyed using the boring and slow gameplay,
Dark Souls 1 conveyed this exact same message, but ultimately did it in a reasonably fair and balanced manner with regards to leveling up stats, upgrading your equipment, and exploring to find new items. Dark Souls 2 is just completely cheap and unfair, and every mechanic and feature in it was intentionally designed to screw you over as much as possible.
You can say the exact same thing about any game in the trilogy though. Ds1 and even Ds3. First you prolong the age of fire until the world cannot be saved in the end anyway. Basically anything you do is pointless
It makes sense why you wouldn’t fight darklurker at lvl 1, but you should definitely fight them at some point if you haven’t because it is a top 3 boss in the game and very fun to learn in my opinion.

The thing I hate the most about this game is the absolute abysmal durability of all your weapons and other equipment. It's all so extremely brittle, so you can only get a very short use out of them before you're forced to rest back at a bonfire to automatically restore them before they completely break. This actually makes fighting other enemies on the way to a boss a liability, because your weapon could completely break before you manage to kill the boss, in which case you're totally screwed.
This videi was so much fun to watch, amazing editing, storytelling, character development and analysis, my friend. It was also very sad to, but just because it was really envolving, cheers!
PS3/360 scholar of the first sin was the better experience, witch is literally the vanilla game, with 3 dlc's and a new ending. No enemy reallocation, and no stupid fragment branch every corner. The only thing that I missed in PS3's SotFS was the Forlon, that doesn't exist in this version.
A year ago I put thumb up on this video, but now when I completed this run myself (in SotFS) I'm not so sure. 1) I realized that most of the run you don't even need ADP. Base i-frames are enough if your rolls have precise timing. Or you simply move your character out of hitboxes without i-framing it. Like Smelter's overhead slash, just strafe sideways and then roll. But sometimes it's shitty, yes. In case of the Lost sinner you simply stick to her so she won't use her stab attack with absurd tracking. 2) You shouldn't have limited youself. As I see most of the time you used a mace, ring of blades and no armor\peasant set. I used dagger (lightning) - good dps but low stamina consumption, broadsword (dark) - the best thing, axe (fire) for more damage, and light crossbow (raw) to make some parts easier (Shrne of Amana easy 1st try). I also had mace for some pure blunt damage. Also poisoned knifes for some NPCs. I used dragon rings, Gundyr ring (you know what I mean) and life ring for more health and stamina. Armor to get a bit more surviveability. And of course, the brightbugs and mushrooms. 3) You should have embraced the despawn. I turned on some cool music, summon NPC dudes and in for about an hour I cleared the road to Alonne.
About the executioner chariot, I can't confirm, but I think the attack bounced on the wall, the black flames from the horse looks similar to the Iron king fire breath, so I think they have similar physics, since the fire breath can hit the wall in a angle and change direction(but in this case it helps you since the flames don't get in the area close to the exit)
A redeeming quality about The Persuer is how you can use the ballistas to shoot him, but if you stay far for too long he'll use a projectile attack against you, which can destroy the ballistas if you're too slow.
If I were to give Covetous Demon AKA Jabba the Hutt his own tier, I'd give it H tier for Hilarious. That boss just makes me crack up, his lore, his movements, all hysterical to me.
@@arturkey9084 That would be a good comparison if I said "Aside from the community view, what do you actually dislike about the Ds2 (Adaptability, boss runs and soul memory don't count lol)"
Sir Alonne is an excelent example why DS2 is fucking atrocious. No matter is the boss is cool or challenging in the right way, if EVERYTHING around him is god-awful. The joke would be to write DS2 was done by the B-team of FromSoftware, but it's not a joke that is the case and it shows
As someone who holds DS2 as his favorite in the series... I can't stop watching, laughing, and enjoying your differing opinions. You have a true passion for hating one of my favorite games and it is that pure distaste mixed with wit that is truly admirable.
I'll be the first to admit that DS2 has some janky hitboxes. They give a lot of boss power attacks a shockwave aoe that's hard to see/predict and that doesn't feel fair. But at 35:00 you just got backhanded upside the face with his open right hand
For the alonne run, killing the first knight and the salamander above the drop helps. The second room requires git gud. Large club is a godsend for the charred knights before burnt ivory king. You just need to respec your equipment before the king. Steel protection and spell quartz helps with learning his move set. I was annoyed that the knights were harder than the ivory king himself ahaha. And blue smelter demon is truly pretty toxic
I rage quit the blue smelter demon on a fully leveled character many years ago and have not gone back to it ever since. That's how much it pissed me off. The fact that you beat it level 1 is trully a testament to your mental strength. Congrats my dude!
I agree with you on so much. The Fume Knight is the best boss and the SL1 run is awful. As always, a super entertaining video. Good luck on the Bloodborne DLC bosses, you'll need it. Spam those Beast Pellets.
Just in case no one pointed it out. When the horses nasty breath hit you because it bounced off the wall. For more examples of this type of thing see elden ring :). Some projectiles like fire or fog like attacks have pretty much always done this. Get to close to the wall while fighting bayle? Well now hos fire can hit that wall and bounce back to burn your butt.
My first playthrough, I wasnt aware that adaptability was tied to i frames. It made almost every boss awful. I only think there are 4 bosses that are higher than 6/10 and they are sin, burnt ivory king, fume knight, and alonne. Even though sin and ivory king are my favorites, they are A tier at a max because of the shit hitboxes. Trust me when I say that darklurker fucking sucks. One of the worst runbacks in the series, awful hitboxes, little to no time to heal, and they squeezed two high damaging enemies in a tiny room. I dont understand why people like it, way worse than pontiff.
I stopped this run after I beat Sinh - one of the best fights took about five attempts and I felt nowhere near the satisfaction I did playing DS3 level 1. I couldn't quite explain it, but I took it as a sign that the run wasn't worth my investment. Looking back, I guess it's because none of the fights are challenging enough to feel like a worthy challenge, and anything hard about them usually involves DS2's shitboxes.
I actually had the most amount of fun with SL1 in DS2. all of the different stat boosting equipment, incasing and just weird usually useless items like the Dark Pyromancy flame and Work Hook suddenly become invaluable. I think it took me about 2 or 3 hours to get Throne Watcher and Defender. Never did the DLCs tho, fuck that lmao. I like playing DS2 with 0 ADP but getting one shotted by every enemy is something I don't have the patience for, especially shit like the runback to Sir Alonne.
I did a run with no weapons(used Vanquisher's seal) and no armors, I didn't level ADP because at that point I didn't knew ADP was a thing(they put ADP as RES on my language and I thought it was resistência(resistance), and didn't pay attention to it), still was a fun experience. ...Worst part is that 2 years later I decided to check the stats names and look for the ADP that everyone was talking about, and RES was actually adaptabilidade(Adaptability), so ADP was still a valid abbreviation and they changed to RES for no reason.
you really need to try out the dlcs, they have the best content, just remember that you don't have to fight everything on the way to a boss, sir alonne you can just run to with planned dodges and an optimal route.
@@Ghorda9 I know, when I played with magic my AGL was OK because I usually put the 75 ATN for the 10 spell slots and got a good amount of AGL even with the base ADP, but for str or dex build both ADP and ATN was at base, so I did need to learn the timing for dodging, Fume knight was the most memorable one when I did the run on Vanquisher's Seal and no armor.

I took my time, meticulously killing every enemy. It was fun! 2 - If I died during the run, I could just come back and kill them more, get my souls and level up.
(this is why dodging to the side is often a bad move, as your legs stay WAY OUT for a long while, and a lot of the famous 'bad hitboxes' of DS2 are more, your s start differently and end before the animation is close to done, often meaning your toes are touching a sword blade.)
Like, Dark Souls 2 is the easiest of the Dark Souls games overall, I think, because if you take it slowly, calmly, and know how to build, you'll do really well.
Also, my original DS2 build, and part of why I'm so partial to the game was "I am going to use nothing but two handed crossbows. And Not use a repeater."
It worked and it wasn't even painful.

That’s badass, I never realized rhat
Uhm no it's because the game is bad and not that I'm bad at the video game??
Its because he has hit boxes running up all the way to his shoulders that are so much disproportionately larger than the model You'd be forgiven for mistaking them as SpongeBob's Anchor Arms if they were ever visually enabled. This is incongruous with the rest of the series where the hit boxes are isolated to the weapon specifically and are shaved down to be almost perfectly to scale with the weapon model itself.
@@sasaki999pro Ds1 hitboxes are way worse.
even though the gargoyles are just a rehashed boss, i still like it from the perspective that two different encounters across two games implies that the gargoyles are creatures that exist all over the place as a fairly developed species instead of just an exclusive enemy.
The Prowling Magus boss is the equivalent of putting a health bar on the channeller and hollows in the undead parish and calling that a boss. It's just embarrassing.
???
The worst thing about the lack of adaptability is that every other stat is optional if you are skilled enough, and the lack of them makes the game more hard as time goes on. For example:
Health. Enemies do more and more damage so without leveling health you need to dodge better and more and not get comboed
Endurance: enemies do longer combos as the time goes on, so you will have to manage stamina better and better
int faith strenght dex: enemies get more health so you need this stats to beat them faster
equip load: you need better armor cause the enemies do more poise damage (usually)
Adaptability doesn't work that way.
Tying s to a stat was a bad idea
@castor Personally, I'm very mixed on ADP as a stat. For a positive, I think that being able to control how effective your roll is means that we can be as OP or as underpowered as we want to be. My biggest complaint is a lack of explanation given for the stat, and therefore making new players feel like it's resistance from DS1. If they had explained it at all, then I don't think it would be nearly as frowned upon.
Equip load is to reduce damage through armour wtf are you using it for?
You’re using it for POISE? WHY ARE YOU TRADING HITS TO BEGIN WITH WRYYY
or just get 20 str get a great shield and block instead of using ADP to dodge and you'll even spend less stamina doing that.

The hardest boss on sl1 in ds2 (in my opinion) is blue smelter demon. This boss shows all the wrong things about the ds2 mechanics:
1. you need to be frame perfect nearly with your dodges with blue smelter demon with low adaptability (assuming you have adp boosting gear) without it good luck.
2. The passive damage was extremely painful cause it would make me have to heal with lifegems, cause normally he would do 80% of my health with a single hit. and the drain would put me in oneshot territory every 10 seconds. (with low adp its extremely bad)
3. the mechanic of human effigies and your max health draining made this fight even worse cause I had to farm human effigies every 2 fights.

(Your tows stretched WAY OUT during the roll often mean your hitbox is present longer by rolling than just...walking to the side.)
Also the reason the poison breath hit you from behind is it bounces off walls. A few attacks like that work that was in DS2. They interact with terrain.
Also I think I figured out why people like or dislike Dark Souls 2. It comes down to:
Do you enjoy bosses or do you enjoy playing the general game with mobs more? Dark Souls 1 feels like a balanced experience where bosses and the world matter equally. Dark Souls 2's world and general 'road through' a level is the entire experience and bosses are just caps at the end of areas. And DS3 has zones that are utterly forgettable and exist to ensure you don't get sick of boss rushes cos that's its own genre.
I agree, literally the only areas I enjoy in Ds3 are in the DLC

Fight Darklurker on a regular play through. It’s one of the better bosses in DS2.

Fume Knight and Sir Allone were my favorite two bosses. I also liked the continuously upgrading Pursuers. That said, I had to take the most insane grinding strategy to actually beat this game and I can’t imagine trying a level 1 run.
Nice to see that the DLCs have the best bosses. Shows they listen to the fans. The boss runs are still pure dogshit.
Holy moly that smelter boi hitbox at 1:23 was diabolical
It's so refreshing watching these videos. For so long now there's been this rhetoric going around that "dark souls 2 is actually a really good game that was so misunderstood at the time when it came out." But no, that's wrong. This game is awful. And you get it. It's so nice seeing you get it
No sorry bud it's actually people finally saying "yeah the games good" and people that have a body pillow of miazaki can't stand that people enjoy something he didn't make
Yes ds2 is the prolly the worst from game
It still has tbe best fashion, build variety, atmosphere (that's very subjective tho) and ng+
The other games are pure gold, ds2 is silver. Not bad at all especially compared to other franchises but falls short of its brethren because it was trying new stuff
It's strange how Elden Ring looks like a Dark Souls 2 sequence.
@NeoVandole I laughed hard when I discovered the giants story on Elden ring
Looking forward to see how your run went.
I play it on PS5 and Forlorn invades, it’s not just PS3.
"I am fighting the assassins 1 creed loading menu" oh boy I am smiling
I had to stop at the final boss, I couldn't imagine doing the DLC bosses. I sooo look forward to the Bloodborne BL4 experience.
i loved doing bloodborne BL4
@@ThePalebloodDoll the dlc bosses were brutal though
Love your videos. I'm looking forward to your video about the dlc for elden ring when it comes out 😊.
My favourite part of every feebleking video is when he screams "ITS FEEBLIN TIME" and feebles allover the place
Games of today Truly the channel of all time
>he didn't beat the game at lvl -46...
I am a big ds2 defender alonne is mid and the boss run is absolutely the worst in the entire series
the oddly fitting sans music over the blue smelter demon combined with the patrick bateman speech was peak, i love this video
00:07 "It's not the way Miyazaki intended" because he did not work on this game xDD
A redeeming quality about The Persuer is how you can use the ballistas to shoot him, but if you stay far for too long he'll use a projectile attack against you, which can destroy the ballistas if you're too slow.
I just used the Twin Dragon Greatshield with a +3 Club, and alternated between blocking and getting a strong attack in at the end of his combo.
If I were to give Covetous Demon AKA Jabba the Hutt his own tier, I'd give it H tier for Hilarious. That boss just makes me crack up, his lore, his movements, all hysterical to me.
you can use fire arrows or roll through the black puddles in black gulch to light them on fire and kill the hand worms without having to fight them.
As if playing Dark Souls 2 wasnt torture enough
Aside from adp, what do you actually dislike about the game (Boss dupes and repeating textures don't count lol)
@@DreadGB what i really dislike is the Boss dupes and repeating textures
@@Jahycore Understandable, have a good day
@@arturkey9084 That would be a good comparison if I said "Aside from the community view, what do you actually dislike about the Ds2 (Adaptability, boss runs and soul memory don't count lol)"
@LukeGB _dread I just think it's weak compared to the other games of the series and it's bosses aren't very memorable it's more quantity over quality
This game has me convinced quitting out to reset enemies is an intended mechanic
Doesn’t work in DS2. In fact it makes your situation worse as enemies can move toward you while you load in
@@ToastUrbath holy fuck really? I never really played this game and when i did i didnt know about quit outs
Sir Alonne is an excelent example why DS2 is fucking atrocious. No matter is the boss is cool or challenging in the right way, if EVERYTHING around him is god-awful. The joke would be to write DS2 was done by the B-team of FromSoftware, but it's not a joke that is the case and it shows
Ds2 is my least favorite of the series, but "having an issue" with the "AI" when it's a PS3 game era game is wild.
Having I frames attached to stat is why I will never do ds2 sl1
Aint no way bro is so scared of darklurker that he beat blue smelter demon sl1 before beating darklurker normally
Btw Darklurker is one of the best boss in DS2. Totally worth it trying to get to him.
Both Rotten and Mytha have bonfires extremely close to their boss room. They literally have almost no boss run lol
This video gets a D tier from me for 50 minutes straight boring Ds2 bashing
nobody cares about your tierlist nobody even knows who you are
@@gonfreecss6002 I care
@@APerson-si8jr don't lie the only thing you care about is making sure you get a chocolate shake with your fries and mcnuggies.
Fume knights off hand hits you. - so it's not a hitbox issue or janky. His backhand just counts as damage
As someone who holds DS2 as his favorite in the series... I can't stop watching, laughing, and enjoying your differing opinions. You have a true passion for hating one of my favorite games and it is that pure distaste mixed with wit that is truly admirable.
Finally someone who gets it. Fellow DS2 lover here haha
I like dark souls 2: scholar of the first sin edition.
every ds2 criticism ive ever seen is either applicable to dark souls 1 or elden ring and its never complained about in either game
Can't get enough of your DS2 videos, lol.
Congrats my dude!
its not that hard man.. its actually kind of a cakewalk even on sl1
@@Celatra Ah yes of course it's easy. Because if it's easy for you, it's easy for everyone. Congratulations.
@@Melotaku i mean smelter isnt hard compared to more modern fromsoft bosses
That is just because you're bad.
@@drvofoka7033 maybe they didnt level adp and also suck at dodging
15:00 lol The cameraman got hit there 😂😂😂
I agree with you on so much.
Something leads me to believe that SOMEONE hasn't heard of bioshock 2...
@@ehmolekkkkk both adaptability and attunement increases agility.
you really need to try out the dlcs, they have the best content, just remember that you don't have to fight everything on the way to a boss, sir alonne you can just run to with planned dodges and an optimal route.
@@Ghorda9 I mean yeah I know I've played through the DLCs many times, I just don't have the patience for them at SL1.
You gotta fight Darklurker. It’s really good.
hmm...DS2 hitboxes are AIDS and cancer combined with syphilis, yet in ER where enemies hit the ground in front of them and you get tagged by some delayed aftershock on the other side of the arena is 100/10. got it. DS3 and ER enemies changing orientation mid-swing is okay. got it. Half of the enemies in ER being reskins of DS3 (or even DS1) enemies and AI is 1000/10. got it. DS3 and ER enemies playing Bloodborne while the player is playing DS3 is just fine. got it. Gank squads in DS2 is bad, but gank squads in DS3 and (especially) ER is good. got it.
NONE of FromSoft's titles are without major and more than likely repeated flaws. They have only become more adept at hiding their obvious limitations in flashy effects and speed.
the thing is that ds2 has all of those weaknesses (but worse) and 1/10th of the strengths , ds2 boss hitboxes are not intentional, they are just bad, if you dont like the bosses tracking you in ER and Ds3 either git gud, or stay mad that you cant beat every boss by circle strafing like ds2
@@mrerectric5999 DS2's hitboxes are usually the most accuratein the series , check some hitbox visualisation videos .
Boss run so bad it turned bro into Patrick Bateman
Tbh DS2 SL1 makes more sense in real life perspective.
You shouldn't get random invulnerable frame just because you press a roll bottom :P
Damn it’s almost like it’s a sequel to video game devoted to being tough but fair and this sequel went out of its way to be as unfair and annoying as possible.
Oh wait, that’s exactly what happened. ;)
I like you Feeble King you are alright
Sir alonne's boss run suck but you refuse to learn enemies movement pattern. You refuse to figure out a consistent path to the boss and instead keep bumping your head into a wall until it works out. You hate sir alonne because of your own skill issue
The guy who has beaten every souls game at level 1 just needs to git gud. then he'll be able to enjoy the game. the minds of ds2 players are enigmas
That monologue at the end is something I didn’t expect. But it was really deep and tru…
Tbf I never had many problems with the Sir Alonne boss run, for two reasons:
1 - I treated the run itself with respect. I didn't try just running away from everything. I took my time, meticulously killing every enemy. It was fun!
2 - If I died during the run, I could just come back and kill them more, get my souls and level up. Rince and repeat until the boss run is empty and I myself am stronger for it.
that intro made me sub u XD great vids man
