Watching this in theatre's for the first time, I can safely say that all of the notes that were described and sought after were perfectly executed and delivered. Parts of me wanted the protagonist to anxiously run away or get curiously closer and admire them. Amazing work.
Thanks for the feedback! Maybe I can alternate between posting stem layers and commentary videos. If you haven't checked out my Instagram, it's mostly stems: instagram.com/indepthsounddesign/
Awesome! Pretty hard for me to understand everything because their accents and English not being my native language, it would be amazing if you can subtitle the next ones with difficult accents. This channel deserves a lot more of viewers, it's a gem. Regards from Argentina
Thanks so much for the great feedback. Even I had trouble with the accents here especially because they’re making a ton of obscure references. I really wanted to subtitle it but it’s either expensive or a lot of work. Thinking about starting a Patreon soon to help support the channel. Thanks so much for your interest. If you have any specific questions let me know!
It’s all about biology, ours and theirs, and the correlation and incompatibility of the two. It’s a simple concept and it’s portrayed really well here! Dune is another notable picture where this seemed to be taken into account.
May I ask where do you source these commentaries from? It seems like some of these are from podcasts or recorded from live presentations. I would love to check out the full source if there are any, thank you!
Hello! :) Do you guys have any idea how the sound of the heptapods touching the barrier/glass wall was designed from? I mean the elements or the technique applied on the making of it. Thank you!
Why wouldn't show heads inform their personnel as to what the hell their creature is instead of just making them guess & go through all that work that may not be accurate as to what the show heads want? Idk, to each their own...way with things.
This is a pretty geeky one with a lot of obscure references. Definitely let me know if you have any questions! Thanks for watching!
YES! This is the kind of stuff I'm always looking for. Thank you.
So glad you enjoyed it!

So far this is my favorite one in the series. Thank you for putting these together.
You’re very welcome. Thanks for the interest!
I actually searched for this video hoping someone made it. THANK YOU. I worship great sound design.
honestly this film has the best sounding alien horn ever
War of the Worlds would like your number 👽📯
I'm working on recreating the sound for this scene, and this video was extremely helpful! Thank you for sharing this.
One of my favorite movies, and the sound design is superb....
so much to learn
How does someone get into this industry? I've been in a sound design rabbit hole for years and this would be my dream job
just do it. join like an indie film team or something and work your way up
the sound layers separated by the comments are more fascinating but a top channel.

I absolutely love this film. I now know some of the subconscious reasons why!
They nailed the sacred alien sound. My whole first viewing of the film I held them in high regard without knowing why.

No idea so much went into sound effects
Every so often my stomach makes a sound identical to these creatures
Growls. Whether from a lion or a stomach- A fundamental building block of sound design.
Great video! Cant wait to see more.
Great interviews and video. Sound added so much to this film. Awesome job by the editors.

Haha, I had to look this up, but... 😱

Too much talking while the sounds are playing.
