    This method beautifully addresses the extra fabric that is often left over in front,after the back is lengthened. Thank you! I was able to adjust the length of front and back before, but was always still left with some scrunching of fabric near the shoulder ball in front. Voila! You solved this for me! Thanks much!!!

    Brilliant! I have scoliosis on my right side, so my shoulder knob moves forward on that side. This seems to keep the shoulder in a better shape than to make a standard Forward Shoulder Adjustment. This also works well where you have to make the adjustment on just one side. Thank you so much for this!

    Thank you so much, Jen ❤. What about the sleeve grain line? I suppose it remain the same, doesn't it?

    Should a forward should adjustment be done before or after a narrow shoulder adjustment? I have a super narrow (for my overall body size) cross front and shoulders (with large bust to add a bit more pattern fitting confusion), but a very broad and high round back. Thank you for the time you take to help us all.

      Hi Jan, I think getting the shoulder the correct length is job 1... Then adjust the position. You can combine a forward shoulder with a high round back adjustment... The Center back seam needs to shaped and lengthened and the back shoulder/neckline edge also needs to be lengthened to accommodate a forward shoulder.

    How can I prevent the collar of a men's shirt from moving back and falling down from the back of the neck ? In other words,
    how can I keep the collar attacked to the back of the neck ? Even when the person is making big moves .
    Love your videos ! Thanks for helping people individually with their questions !

      :) My pleasure! Typically when the back neckline/collar slides back, there is too much vertical length either in the back and or the front. If you can take apart the shoulder seam and pin it in place when the person is wearing it, this will tell you where the excess vertical length is. Then you can trim off the excess and resew the shoulder. You will need to shorten the collar pieces as well Trim off the CB seam edges). Let me know if this makes sense to you

    I enjoy your help with adjustments but let me get this straight for forward shoulder you have to adjust shoulder back, front and sleeve cap? Then I will need a bust adjustment. Can you show us how to do shoulder adjustments with bust adjustment?

    Hi Jen. How do I know if I have a forward shoulder issue or a shoulder slope issue of both? Grateful for your videos😘

    • @JSternDesigns
      @JSternDesigns  2 роки тому

      Good question! ...If the shoulder seam is picking up at the tip of the shoulder or if it's pinching at the neckline edge, you need to adjust the slope. If there is too much fabric from the top of the sleeve down the front and it's pulling in the back, then you need to adjust for a forward shoulder joint (You need less length in the front and more length in the back) ... Thanks for fitting along with me!

    Hi Jen and thanks for all your videos....so helpful....I have one shoulder lower than the other and both are rotated slightly forward. (Skiing accident)..Even when I make the lower shoulder adjustment my neckline still slides towards the lower side...so annoying...I always have a gape at the neck on the low side..other than a shoulder pad how can I minimize this...😩...please help???...I don’t want to wear a shoulder pad in casual shirts ad tees...thanks for any insight

      So sorry I didn't see your comment until now. I think it's a matter of shortening the front shoulder and lengthening the back shoulder to agree with the forward ball of your shoulder ... and shortening both to agree with the fact that it's lower than the opposite shoulder. Thank you for following along with me

    Hi Jen, How do you adjust for a forward shoulder joint on a raglan?

    • @beckyhorse4560
      @beckyhorse4560 2 роки тому

      You shouldn't have to as there isn't a "shoulder seam" per say.

    • @JSternDesigns
      @JSternDesigns  2 роки тому +1

      Sorry I'm just finding your comment now. Becky is correct... no shoulder seam... But it can help to trim off some of the front edge of the armhole edge and adding to the back armhole edge to add fabric in the back and take it away from the front so the sleeve sits on your arm properly. Let me know if this makes sense. Thanks Jen

    my shoulder seams come forward to the front what adjustment can i do for this thank you very much

    • @JSternDesigns
      @JSternDesigns  2 роки тому

      Is it that the shoulder seams are sit forward on your shoulder... or is it that the front of your neckline pulls down, dragging the shoulder seams forward?

    My shoulder ball point is very forward. I've made every adjustment recommended for this but I STILL can't fix my persisting problem of my front always rides to the back. I've moved the shoulder seam to the back more...then tried moving it more to the front but it never corrects the front wanting to ride up to the back. Any suggestions?🤔

    • @beckyhorse4560
      @beckyhorse4560 2 роки тому +1

      I also tried the rounded back adjustment but that isn't it. Do I simply need to lengthen the front shoulder length and leave the back length the same? The back has been fitting perfectly but whenever I make these adjustments (evenly), it just lowers the back and the front still rides up. I'm stumped! Thanks 😊
