      @Emily Rosenzweig - You are most welcome. This process works very well. I also show another option you might want to watch - splitting the back pattern horizontally - also works exceedingly well. See - ua-cam.com/video/TLxkBTbRtZk/v-deo.html

      very true. I'm from abroad and have studied pattern making but not deep. This channel has changed my life literally. It's impressive how fast we can correct problems. unfortunately I my teacher was not that good and I gave up as my projects were horrible. Tks so much for all your teachings!

    My problem is that I have excess fabric at the back of the neck, and sometimes at the shoulder blade area. What adjustment should i use for these problems?

    • @surefitdesigns
      @surefitdesigns  Рік тому

      @Chris Reeve - it sounds like the back of the pattern is too long and wide across the back. But without specific photos of the issue(s), it's more challenging to pinpoint the problem(s) and offer a specific solution. I support all Sure-Fit Designs customers.

    I truly appreciate this lesson. I do not have anyone who can measure me and I have the upper rounded back. Can I measure it myself? Thank you. Gi

    Does this work on a regular basic t-shirt pattern?

    Do you have to add length to the front to match the extra length in the back?

  • @cathysimon8749

    How do you determine the amount to increase the back and also the shoulder dart??? I have both of these and have to do any adjustments by myself. Thanks

    • @surefitdesigns
      @surefitdesigns  10 років тому

      There is no tried and true way to determine how much you will need to curve CB or to add the width of the shoulder dart. I would say to begin with a dart that is 1/2 - 5/8" wide and that will automatically determine the amount that is added to the length of CB. If you need a CB seam, then you can draw a gentle curve with the Designing Stylus. You will simply need to try a test and see how much more/less you need for your body shape. Kindly, Glenda

    Part 2 - How could I self measure if possible?

  • @surefitdesigns
    @surefitdesigns  11 років тому

    No, the rounding, in this situation, is in the back body only. Kindly, Glenda

      mam will you clear my doubt why the front armhole in a girl dress is deeper then the back armhole curve

  • @vinayapatil6553
    @vinayapatil6553 6 років тому

    drawing rounded curve willbe suitable only for the dresses which has back opening what if no back opening ?

    • @surefitdesigns
      @surefitdesigns  6 років тому

      If you don't have a back opening then you won't have a curved CB seam. With a rounded back, it's generally best to curve the seam and depending on the style you can have a CB opening.

      That book is part of our Dress Kit (the instruction book) and you can purchase the entire Kit at - surefitdesigns.com/collections/fitting-sewing-pattern-kits/products/dress-kit-discounted-combos - we don't sell those books individually as they are specific to each of our fitting kits. Make sure to watch the short video describing the Dress Kit found on the page link given.

    Would a 1.5" adjustment distort things too much?

    • @surefitdesigns
      @surefitdesigns  3 роки тому

      Deb Damico - if you mean a 1.5" opening at CB - though I have never tried this, I would suspect it wouldn't work too well.

    • @debdamico9973
      @debdamico9973 3 роки тому +1

      Yes that is what I meant. I guess I'll try splitting it up and doing 5/8 at center back and another adjustment for shoulder blade.
