    Two bikes that can't really be compared, but I thought I'd try anyway! What would you get if you had the choice?

    I have a 2021 Monkey and a 2019 Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster. Love both, but the Monkey is so easy and fun for quick trips, I have to say the Monkey.

    Monkey is the best bike in the world. Yes, most have it as a second bike, but it is The bike to have. Triumph is quite nice too.

      Couldn't agree more, Bruce! The Monkey is a true joy of a bike. The Triumph sure does give me smiles, but the Monkey is truly unique.

    Sorry I can't help you pick a winner. I have the same issue...I have a Monkey and a Triumph Street Twin, and like you I couldn't say that either one of them is a favourite. Love 'em both 🤣

    I upgraded from MSX125 (in asia). In my opinion, there's one big factor which you may have decided to leave out is safety. I think Trident wins in this regards, not only traction control and ABS, but having enough power to overtake cars in certain situations means it's Trident for me.

    • @monkeyingaround243
      @monkeyingaround243  3 роки тому

      Yes very good point! The monkey has ABS, traction control isn’t really needed because there isn’t enough power, but it’s not that easy to get out of sticky situations.

    I just may have to consider a Monkey! I've had my Trident for a smidge over 400 miles now and I am not regretting it in the least. I commute to work and my round trip has more than doubled just for the ride home. But my neighborhood is spralling and several neighbors have electric scooters for friendly visits. I could definitely see myself showing up with the Monkey.

    Beautiful comparison, I also have two bikes, a Monkey and a Rebel, I agree with everything you said about the Monkey.

    This was great. I hate when people are so adamant about not being able to compare things. On the one hand, they're right. Sometimes things are so different that we can't compare them. But on the other, we have choices and there's an array of options that could fill our desires. I'm a bit older and looking for my first bike, but I'm also limited by finances. I'm in a big city and have no need for a vehicle because of public transit. I'm looking at Groms and I'm looking at Street Triples, so I've tried comparing things like Groms to CB300Rs, and SV650s to Street Triples. Sure, there's the fact that X is better than Y, but the fact is our circumstances leave a lot of gray area for what may be best for given situations. All that to say, I'm all for crazy comparisons like this.
    e: got a 'like,' noticed a spelling error, corrected it, like disappeared. :(

      Thomas, this comment made my day! Yes, these bikes are incomparable, but we have so many options of bikes to choose from these days. I also had a ton of fun making it!
      Just know you've made my day better with your comment. Hope you find the bike that's good for you. All bikes will put a smile on your face.

    It’s a draw, but the monkeys cheaper. For motorways it’s doable but not great. I’d sooner monkey around on the Honda though.

    Interesting. My bike right now is a 2019 900 SS. And then this little bike popped up on my radar, taking me way back to my early riding days and my first Honda, a CT 70. I actually raced junior motocross with that bike. I love the SS, but I'm finding myself perhaps going too fast on it, tearing up dirt roads at 70mph. So, I ordered a Monkey. But, like you, I will probably end up keeping the Triumph as well. Take the Monkey in the back of the truck, to camping spots, and frankly, just plain putting around fun.

    I had the beneli tn 125 cc at age 58 and I'm 5.10 height and 15 stone, wow what a blast of fun and I mean fun just keep em in garage as spare bike. I have the bn 125 version know just for 11 ltr tank. Bigger and heavier gets me to work. Regret selling tnt might just get one for the shops if it ever broke down just put it in your shopping bag ha ha ha. Have fun I think every young or old person should have one. When I get really old I might trike one as a disabled vehical

    Have a folder called 'Mrad', it's full of Navi and Monkey links...
    I can't get a Trident in my Transit Custom 'Day Van' project.
    A Monkey would be the Ideal Walmart/Asda vehicle plus, of course, Fun Factor. (each to his/her own etc).
    Can you explain your vlogging camera setup please? I started with a Praktica TTL etc (way back in the days of Politically incorrect 'BLACK & WHITE' Photography....

    For fun the Honda Monkey and if I wanted a bike the size of the Triumph, I would rather take a Honda CB650R with that sweet 4 cylinder engine.
    I am sold on the Honda brand and have a few.

    • @monkeyingaround243
      @monkeyingaround243  3 роки тому

      I was considering the CB650R, but there are a few things that made me go for the Triumph. Mainly the torque / power delivery of the Triple over the 4 cylinder of the Honda, which you have to rev harder to get to peak torque. The Trident it’s delivered at a more useable range. Then there is the fit and finish, tech and price. Looks wise I reckon I prefer the Honda, but the Trident trumps it in most other areas imo.

    Great video :)
    I have a rebel 500 and I am seriously considering getting the monkey for kicks :D
    Now I just need to find somewhere I can try it as I am 194 cm and I am not sure that would work well on the monkey. That being said, the rebel is quite small too, but I did get a forward kit for that one :)

    I have a Trident. Shoukd I buy a Monkey or CBR500R for my wife and daughter to share for riding along with me? Price is not a consideration. Just ease of use and fun. Daughter just turned 16 so would be her 1st bike. Wife 1st time rider as well.

    • @monkeyingaround243
      @monkeyingaround243  3 роки тому +2

      Stanley, the monkey would be a perfect bike for both your wife and daughter! It’s super learner friendly with the relaxed position and low seat height (both feet flat on the floor). Plus if they both have a monkey they’ll have similar power so one won’t be left behind. CBR500R has a bunch more power but isn’t that forgiving and quite an uncomfortable riding position. Hope that helps!
