I think this would have worked beautifully as the credits song for Denis Villeneuve's 'Arrival'. And supposing it would have been written specifically for the film, the Oscar would have surrendered to Pritchard and Yorke. I know. I'm daydreaming.
I can't find a flaw in this music/video. So transcending and soothing. To be able to a take a simple melody and repeat throughout the song, and weave other melodies within that repeating melody is not as easy as it sounds. Fantastic work.
Try Two Lanes - Another Time (feature Kwesi) that's another beautiful song.

Supernal piece of fine art. I can't think of anything else to compare this to. Every intricate detail in this song and video gives an ethereal feeling. The natural woodwind to create ancient folk soundscape. The subtle pitch bend on the keyboard, Tom Yorkes voice and the video, of which seems to be played backwards and reversed, kind of reminds me of Prometheus in the early scenes with Iceland being the backdrop. The lyrics seem to shock the hairs on my arms. A masterpiece, 4 years on and I'm still stunned...
Thom is my favorite artist and favorite person even if back 30 years ago he screamed into the camera with his very blondish hair at a beach concert and dived right into the pool, I'm glad he's in half of the artists songs that I know.
This is an exquisite piece of art... ethereal and otherworldly.

Don’t get me wrong, I really like a lot of Thom’s solo material but, I find myself wishing it all sounded as good as this. Mark Prichard is too good and theses two sound excellent together.
I think "Last I Heard" does a pretty good job of picking up the baton.
I hoped so much Thom Yorke would be in "Death Stranding". Imagine, say, "Daydreaming" playing in the game.

Every time I hear this song, I feel like I’m being asked to remember that humanity, with all its needless drama, chaos and possibility of destruction - that there is also a capability within most of us for good. That our place is with this planet earth, so impossibly able to create life and out of all those rare chances, we are lucky to be here and alive.
Can't even begin to describe how beautiful this is.
I'd like to chime in as the person who has possibly watched this video more than anyone else. It is an astonishing work of art, and I feel it deserves to be re-released as a 4k video with surround sound and all the bells and whistles anyone could deliver. Not a demand of course, but simply a suggestion for what might possibly be the greatest music video of all time.

Anyone else notice how the walking is shot backwards then reversed? What the rocks on the feet at 1:20 they move towards the feet. Idk just a really interesting way of doing the movement. Makes it look all weird

Very beautiful. Seems like it was written for/about Rachel.
I thought so too about her and how he can't go back to that part of his life and how beautiful ppl are and he doesn't feel like a beautiful person his mind is so consciously open he sees pain and suffering so much more and so much deeper but here he is lost and still moving forward even tho she is gone and hes left here like an alien without her tracking thru unfamiliar ground just trying to find some type of peace. But it is so hard to exist in the world we all unconsciously live in a world filled with beautiful ppl that can break us with just one word or one wings movement. We all are broken in pieces like the rocks but we try and just maintain walking (living) but we can never go back to the past no matter if that person is dead or alive that moment that love it's gone. And we can only keep searching for warmth in the cold of darkness that the world and mind is when you truly open up.

am I the only one who sees this video as a metaphor to people throwing stones into something unique and different (?): where all the rocks are rising then there's no "violent" scene, but after that there's this character with a cracked and leaking head. Then he's trying to hide and at the end rock finds and kills him. the end.
