One of the most positive comment threads ever! Enjoyed listening to this on a loop while reading comments. Felt like hanging out at Paul Thomas Anderson's with so many Radiohead fans!
??? It's not that hard lol be more impressed with his songwriting. Coming in with a beat in a few milliseconds is second nature to any musician who's been playing for years.
I don't mean blown away by technicality. Most musicians can do it. It's just those little things in music, like someone yelling in studio and you can hear it in the album release, or someone missing a note, and somehow it becomes a charming flaw. Just like Thom going too fast at the beggining and slowing down the pace inmediately as the CR comes in.
When I see Thom's foot tapping, I'm reminded of how I learned how to play and read music, and that the drummer controls the speed. In my experience, you usually have to tell the drummer to stop speeding the beat. Come on....actual players give me some love on this :-)
I don't understand this having over two thousand dislikes? This is one of my favorite videos on UA-cam. As has been noted by countless others, the audio quality of this recording is impeccable. Love the energy that Jonny brings to the song with his flowing, repetitive riffs/sequences. Just great.
Jonny is amazing. I love the way he just lets the sound seep in at first, just almost praying. When Thom says "hit me" he comes to life (physically) hits the CR78 he taps the side first in the beat of the song then clicks. Pure magician.
This song could stop a panic attack for me.
Even low-flying ones? ;)
Could stop mine too i believe.
"Open all channels, I'm ready to receive."
Great writing
That's the life. Millions in the bank, happy family, brilliant and respected career behind you and you're sitting on a beautiful sunny mountaintop jamming with an old friend. Such lucky people.
Tokiofritz well, not a happy family. he just got a divorce some time ago
Thom was never married.
Yeah, he was. Bryce is right, he's now divorced.
was just a long relationship, as neither believed in marriage...
yeah, they're separated; I was surprised by how sad it made me when I found out. Well, at least Thom and Jonny is forever...
so obsessed with these men.
Two men working on the Great Pacific Railroad taking a break and jamming out. Circa 1869.
Holy shit! Great comment Im dyin!!!!
And just like today, everyone else just wanted to hear Polly Wolly Doodle.

One of my favorite videos ever on UA-cam. Ever.
It's the end of 2019 and I still listen to this almost weekly.
Same.
Me too!
Yeah, like, 'who's here because they still bla blah'..
LOVE these guys...
Me, every day
im still here in 2021 friend.
I got a chance to meet Thom personally whilst living in NE LA over a few days when he would order at the Juicery I worked at. He’s a humble man who loves to dance to the overhead music. I thanked him for being an inspiration.
I fucking love Jonny's texture work with his guitars. Guy is on another level.
JTNugget 💜Yes....PROBABLY 💜
He just adds those touches.
@@TheseBitchesWantNikes more than touches id say. Jonny leads the progression of the songs. He is always the x Factor.
No disrespect to Johnny but the secret sauce is very often Ed.
Axemarloe See the intros to Let Down and Weird Fishes. Two of my favorites.
Recording produced and mixed by Nigel Godrich, what a legend
Constantly reinvents himself each record Radiohead does, and that’s truly an accomplishment. Applies a whole new vision to match these two’s visions.
The fact that Paul Thomas Anderson and these guys do things together just make me happy, I don't know why but is just so much perfection in one place
Junun was great. You can almost hear Jonny somewhere down beneath all the tracks.
NoTodoEsArte probably because you re a hipster douchey Mr todo
A comment on a Radiohead track with a Drive profile pic. You are my spirit animal.
It'd be like Kubrick & the Beatles doin' stuff. :D
I went to a live performance of the There Will Be Blood soundtrack (with the film playing too), it was perfection in entertainment IMO
The mix of those beautifully strummed chords and Jonny’s nicely palm-muted rhythmic stabs is just 👌🏼
radiohead are the kings of making good songs sound much better live
Truth. Seen them 4 times and the live stuff is insanely good. Especially Atoms for Peace.
Beautiful magic . . . both do equal amount of work and get it done so perfectly. It's almost insane. I think they are both from outer space. With a good pair of headphones you can hear the trees blowing in the background, which is ....just fine.
Great analysis pr
It is magic. Bringing real healing. peace.
So smooth and silky like a sonic narcotic.
I've got an iv in each arm
thats so perfect
These guys might have a future in music.
If they get the numbers sure
Lol! Right!
I have a feeling they might make the greatest left turn in music history.
Lol don’t patronise music gods like that
"I had never seen a shooting star before"
I've come back to this video at least once a month since it was posted. Perfection.
The dimension they add is amazing. Story tellers is what they are
I don't think Johnny will ever stop playing that tele.
I hope he never does stop.
I wouldn't either, it sounds excellent. Every telecaster sounds a little different and the harmonic overtones on his are spectacular and unique
@@jaykelley103 His is quite unique in the fact that it's a Telecaster plus, which has red laced sensor humbucker in the bridge. He's also had it rewired and introduced a kill switch where the coil split used to be, so a very special guitar that gives him a very unique and original sound.
Well it's his guitar. Why would he?
I just keep coming back
absolute perfection. the emotions it brings out in me are incredible. that is what music should do.
I wish I knew how many times I've watched this. It's literally one of the best videos on the internet. *probably ;) Thank you guys so much.
I would love an album of these versions
One of the most beautiful moments on earth
"Probably" - understatement of my lifetime.
Um, ya. :)
Discoverd Flyod 4 years ago and started with readiohead this year. I love seeing People with the same taste as i have. Whats your favorite Flyod and Radiohead Album?
@@athousandsuns3222 It's a bit like asking what's your favorite day of the week; it depends upon you, where you are and where you wish to go. I will suggest you listen to Lucky on OK Computer from Radiohead - it is a PURE homage to Pink Floyd and could quite seamlessly fit on to Floyd's Animals album.
Luky is a great song. The Tourist is the most beautyful song on that Album. But you're right it's changing a lot. latley i listen to Let Down a lot.
I lost my best friend 2 years ago to a drug overdose and our biggest shared passion was Radiohead. When I listen to Radiohead now, there is no one else I think of. We would play music together like Thom and Jonny. I miss him so much every day.
I lost mine 7 years ago September.. same. I still cry hard for her. I miss her courage.
I almost can't believe this was recorded outside, with a slight breeze. amazing sound engineering. not to mention the beautiful performance between these rock and roll gods
Hi I recommend a song called 'Looking Into The Mirror' By Robert Nix
no room reflections outside! nice and dry
@@reedzkee Where was it filmed?
this might be the most chill video on youtube
Greenwood is a genius, most under appreciated musician going.
His solo albums are great.
Underappreciated by whom?? Those that don't know music? Greenwood is regarded as one of the best guitarists of this generation.
I know Greenwood
I agree, he is a genius but he is in no way under-appreciated. Rolling Stone ranked him the 49th best guitarist of all time, he has scored amazing movies, he has worked with the likes of Aphex Twin, Brian Eno, Frank Ocean, MF Doom, and he is in one of the most critically acclaimed bands of all time. He is in no way under appreciated.
Youngstar manchester united? Realy?
Please don't ever stop doing these musical duets... they are a history of emotions from the last 30 years.
Credit to Thom Yorke for being such a breath of fresh air with his songwriting and performing.
This is what hanging out at Paul Thomas Anderson's house looks like.
Except that PTA would at least try to keep the dolly track out of the shot.
But this is PTA
but what is it like to hang out at paul ws anderson's house?
@@mackenzieperrault7382 looks like someone didn't read the directoral credits to this video.
FROM THE BASEMENT PLEASE!!!
One of the most positive comment threads ever! Enjoyed listening to this on a loop while reading comments. Felt like hanging out at Paul Thomas Anderson's with so many Radiohead fans!
"The numbers don't decide the system is a lie" Thom exposing it well
The way Thom slows down as the CR78 comes in with that beat just blows me away.
Yeah, it was absolutely immediate. Too smooth.
Oh nice :) yes those idiosyncracies add magic.
When Jonny comes in, in the left channel, it just gives me chills. And then you have the beautiful setting. And of course, a wonderful song. I think it is faultless. "People have this power. The numbers don't decide."
Can only think the dislikes are for the man bun. Mine was.

Loving these stripped down versions of these tracks.
I can play every note of this on guitar so fkn proud of myself so much fun to play
i love how it's almost impossible to see jonny's face when he is playing
N Chekal only need to look at his hands......
Jonny hasn’t aged in 30 years. Maybe I’ve just never seen his damn face?
Hahahaha
Adrenochrome, probably.
🤔🤯🤦🏻♂️
I don't know if he has eyes.
funny!
Yorke is looking better and better every year :')
Annie Silence he's looking like Willie Nelson. No offense though lol
BREAKFAST Okay, Willie Nelson's son probably....
i dont agree but its funny xD
His talent made him cute ❤👐
With his hair and beard he's almost a dead ringer for Willie Nelson. That's not an insult b.t.w.
That is a really crude statement, how insensitive. This is Radiohead's official UA-cam channel. I certainly hope Thom doesn't see your comment.
Evertime I listen to a song from Radiohead I've never heard before, it becomes a song I'm mesmerized by. It also happened when I watched Ozark and Decks Dark played. The scene, the song and the build-up to that point in the episode was epic.
This is my favorite video on UA-cam.
I love the albums, don't get me wrong, but stuff like this is pure beauty
Like Wine Like Water yeah I agree.. it’s like thom’s solo version of bloom. Just so damn beautiful.
One thing doesnt deny the other. You can say "This is pure beauty" and Im pretty sure no one is gonna think you dont love the albums.
Like Wine Like Water Im from 68.

This was very beautiful. They are authentic - thats what I love about them. In these days, I treasure that....
i've watched this an unhealthy amount of times
imagine if you were just going for a hike and you saw them recording this. I would have died of excitement
You're not the only one who has listened too many times :) After this UA-cam always plays "Arcade Fire - The Suburbs (Father John Misty cover)" and so on and so on...
Every time my GF goes like: NOT AGAIN!!
I couldn't like your comment because it's at 33. I am so with you! 😍
