    Thank you for covering/using a lot of budget firearms in your videos. Not everyone can always afford to go out and buy the latest and greatest firearms. I don't like to admit it, but as someone who has bills to pay and gets paid weekly, I can't afford a new S&W revolver (as an example) outright in today's market. I couldn't have gotten a firearm like my recent S&W 586 without buying from a good seller with a generous layaway like I did. I feel somewhat ashamed admitting needing to use layaway, but that's just the reality for me if I want to be able to get a "quality" firearm.

    • @LionquestFitness
      @LionquestFitness  2 місяці тому +4

      Layaway has been my best friend in buying firearms. It's allowed me to experience many types of guns. And to be honest, there was many years I could only afford low end firearm, and am still hanging to the middle of the pack today in our uncertain times That is where I developed the philosophy of accepting less than the best tools and learning to get the most out of them.

    • @3Pillers
      @3Pillers 2 місяці тому +3

      Also a fan and am thankful for those that have a layaway program. I also budget, set aside a little for ammo on a regular basis. Hopefully when a good deal comes along I can take advantage. And I have. Budgeting, planned saving 👍. Safe shooting.

    A 1911 with a light rail just doesn't seem natural to me.I do like a 1911 to be pretty much plain Jane but I do like the extended beaver tail.Chip McCormick mags are usually good products,I have a couple of extras for my Tisas.I have the same sights on my Tisas and find I also have to aim a tad high to hit center mass from 10 yards.I've been keeping an eye on the Girsan firearms as of late,they seem to have a good line up of pistols.

    Like you, I can't stand a 1911 with the light rail...it absolutely ruins the classic lines...& you're 100% correct that most hiccups with a 1911 can be quickly traced to the magazine.

    I like your honest reviews! On the reoccurring QC issues. The company I work for our HR department did a survey and found 54% of our work force would retire in 3 years. That was 4 years ago. Covid accelerated people tossing in the towel that were already over 65. Our politicians instigated by Colleges and Unions push/ directed students to go to college vs trades schools. The young people entering trades will need to go thourgh apprentice programs and have a long learning curve. The ones that stick with it will have rewarding careers and will be making more than college grades with useless degrees and in massive debt.

    Knock off M1911s by lousy companies were a plague on the M1911 brand when Colt's patent ran out. A whole generation grew up thinking 1911s were jam-o-matics and went on to became Glock cultists. It's good to see some change to that.
    Turkey gets a lot of well deserved hate for importing so many lousy guns to America. But they _can_ make good quality guns. The challenge for Americans is finding out which of those funny sounding company names make good products.

    If those pistols weren't so darn heavy, I would probably carry one. A decent 1911 is quite pleasant to shoot, IMO. I'm not sure what you can do to fix the sights on that. Are they milled into the slide or dovetail fit? The latter would reduce the problem to finding someone who sells compatible sights that are better regulated for the ammunition you like to shoot.

    • @LionquestFitness
      @LionquestFitness  2 місяці тому

      One of the things I noticed post Covid was that I've had that issue with more and more handguns. Is it the manufacturer, me, or both? Could be aging and the astigmatism in my right eye that makes shooting with a red dot difficult. On the other hand,Taurus for one, has lowered the front sight on their snubs. I just work with whatever gun I'm shooting.

I don't claim to be Native American, but it is part of my genetic mix. Obviously that wasn’t true but she had no way of knowing that till the test. I have no reason to think it wasn’t an honest mistake… and anyway she made a public apology , that should be enough and the end of it. May seem like I am a fan of hers but I’m not really , I just hate what this country has become .. our ridiculous mudslinging two party system that spends more time trying to find dirt on each other than actually leading and representing the people. The left says "be scared of the crazy Republicans , the only thing that will protect you is if you vote for me” and the right says "be scared of the crazy Democrats , if you vote for me I will protect you from them” so we stay scared and they get your vote. @@LionquestFitness EW and her sibling had been told by older family members that they had some native heritage. Turns out he was either wrong or lying … as her test proved. She apologized so that’s that. I hate the mud slinging political scene in this country… our politicians love to keep us divided and polarized.. in doing so they guarantee themselves a fat paycheck "fear the other side , they are trying to take away your freedom/rights , but if you vote for me I will fight to protect you from all those bad people” It’s a crock of 💩
      I favor neither party and am just about ready to pack up and leave this place.

      @LionquestFitness , Craig, I understand what you and your wife went through. As a kid , because my mom's father was Scott/Irish, I was nothing but from a family of drunks. By mom's mother was German/Pennsylvania Dutch ,so I was a Nazi. My dad is of Phoenician aka Lebanese Arab. So I was nothing more than a sand n****r. What We all are ,are Americans, either born here or nationalized . But we come from many different cultures and peoples. And the one thing I dislike is the hyphenated American political correctness. All it is ,is the old segregation garbage that was stopped by and with the Civil Rights Acts. But sadly this verbal segregation was started by those who started the old segregation garbage.

    I completely gutted my Girsan 1911 and replaced everything with Wilson Combat... only 2 parts that are Girsan/EAA is the frame and slide.

      Interesting. I've been having some slide and ejection issues and sent mine back today.
