TheEverlastingSilverGladeOnTheMoon yeah it’s a little thing but it’s annoying. Another little thing that annoys me is when you go to travel it gives you the option to take sims and shows every sim you’ve ever met, but if you throw a party it only shows a handful of people. 🙄

This was painful to watch because it reminded me of my own experience when I first bought it. I was constantly like JUST STOPPPP to the tutorial, too. But a joy to see how far they've come.
Ps: I hope the sims 5 doesn't start off lame and take 5 years to get good.
I stopped playing immediately and just went back to Sims 3. I didn't come back until Get Together was released.
@@Her_Imperious_Condescension I hear ya on that one! Going back to the sims 3 wasn't an option for me since it destroyed my pc from that frame rate issue it was notorious for. I think I also backed away from the game for awhile and played something else, anything else. Anything at all, even minesweeper was a better game compared to the released day version of the sims 4 😂

Tipper truth!! It irritates me so much because I love modern houses way more than traditional houses but there’s barely any plain modern doors in the game that aren’t a crazy colour
@@elevenmoons4020 the annoying thing is that this problem is extremely easy to fix, its literally just adding two more colour choices to an existing item in the game, I could do that with just the texture of the door and photoshop

I want cars that your sims can drive and toddlers can sit in car seats and a wHoLe NeW wOrLd with a beach you can swim in and we want a whole new baby thing so u can do stuff oh and we want preteens that can get jobs....and blah blah blah
I mean don't get me wrong all this stuff would be amazing but it's a lot if hard work and when you look back at what it was we have sooo much now

Maxis should make a *_"Mirror object"_* option. Sometimes I want symmetrical decorations (like pipes) and I can't have that when the "L" shaped one only goes one direction.

or they just wanted to rush the game out as quickly as they could and didnt want to bother with creating animations and swimsuits first. if the base base game had pools, ghosts, toddlers and a lot of other features it would probably be released somewhere in 2015. or maybe even later, we got firefighters and ladders only a few days ago and its been years
@@waifu_png_pl6854 actully, Sim Guru Graham said that pools and toddlers were too buggy and needed to be added later. Many ignored him just to still whine despite him saying they needed more time.

@@marty_ab not if you're contractually bound to. Some game designers unfortunately are. They had been working on it while sims 3 was still getting expansions so they probably had been given too much time already.
The game was supposed to be an online game therefore missing many many features a regular sandbox sims game has. Explains why it was missing so much and still is

They'd be more fun if they were more uncommon and if they disappeared more. Like I see them everywhere and it's boring, it would be much cooler and spookier if they were rare to find/get.

I bought the game in 2014 but started to play in 2018. I was so disappointed so I continued to play sims 2 for a long time. Now I'm glad with the improvement seriously !
I didn't buy it when it came out but I did install a pirate version lol and same, I didn't play much before going back to sims 3. I actually bought the game in 2018 with a few DLCs and tbh it is so much better. The release version was shit.
I bought the game back in 2016 and it was okay, but then I discovered the goth family and the game improved and I like it even more
I was the same way. I tried playing it when it first came out and it was a Trainwreck. It took probably a year before they ever added pools and toddlers. I finally just got it and some expansions recently and I think it's a good game now, but it should have never been released I the pitiful condition it was in 2014. There was nothing to do and basically no life stages so it didn't even feel like you could have a proper family.
I agree !! Sims 2 are the best ! I bought Sims 4 recently, with some extensions and I really enjoy it, however I think the first version of the Sims 4 was a rip off

I actually had refunded the sims 4 after preordering it because I was so upset with it my first 25 hours of gameplay. Repurchased it a lil over a year later, after my friends convinced me it got a little better. And it did. And I'm now the (proud?) owner of all the current packs and stuff.

@@kennedyp1617 That is a great question! I know James has had a couple of videos saying his picks; but at this exact moment, I'd say that Seasons, Island Living, City Living, Parenthood, and Laundry Day Stuff are my top 5 game-changing add-ons.

I got sims 4 in 2014.
The best sims moments for me was when pools were announced, and when toddlers were announced I stayed up to install it and I was so happy

i remember being so excited for this game to come out and when it finally did i played for 20 minutes and shut it off. it was so horrible. it really has improved a ton.
also, you had to turn the tutorials off out of game in origin. you had to like right click or something on the game and a little box would appear where you would type in something to turn off the tutorials.

I remember those tutorials notifications. I tried the game at the beginning of 2015 and it was still bad, I didn't like the game then and didn't play it for a couple years, but got back into it and love what the team has done to it and how much more involved the community has become, it's amazing to see what the game used to be lol.
I have intentionally not watched because Everytime I do I play the Sims and lose 10 hours of my life I'll never get back.

It's copying off a disk though so doesn't rely on internet speeds. But yeah even the transfer rate was good

The Sims team knows when something isn't ready to come out. They are capable of waiting.
They've proved time and time again this game is just a cash grab. I.e: Kids stuff pack, toddler stuff pack, my first pet stuff.
I refuse to pay for anything else for this game. At this point I'm considering re-investing in the Sims 3.

This video is gold! Something I do miss from the OG release is how hard it was for the kids to get better grades. It used to be such a struggle to get a child to A student... Same w the careers and needing friends. Annoying but still more of a challenge.
I downloaded the free base game from origin a couple days ago and it took me like 6 hours to download. Granted I had to pause it a few times because my internet sucks and it was slowing it down but I'm having a great time playing with it so far! I've already built 2 houses and upgraded an already made one!

A while ago I downloaded one of James' oldest builds to play in, and it took me SO long to figure out that the "pool" wasn't broken, it was a fountain.

I bought Sims 4 the week it came out and was SO bored. I ended up continuing to play Sims 3. Occasionally I would pick back up 4 but it would be short lived. I've been bingeing your channel all month and now I'm playing Sims 4 now... it has gotten SO much better.

When I first got the game I was so excited about what was in it because of the trailers! And when I got it I was amazed with the customization and I would always go around and dig treasure to get the “small people”(sorry I forgot what they were called). It was good times where you would only have the choice between two worlds and one dlc.
