@@drdoc7508 agreed. Napier doesn’t make any adjustments at all. And other teams do, hence the problem. If we start off slow, we don’t have a prayers chance to win under Nape
Best content on the market! Man Mertz really does limit our offense. The quick check downs aren’t going to cut it against better teams. Drove me crazy during the game. 50% of the time he is checking down w/out even looking down field. I get the seniority but DJL would jolt this offense beyond our own recognition. Nape needs to coach up Mertz downfield reads, he gets too fidgety in the pocket on downfield play schemes. Great content as usual!
@@jamesscott8705 💯 like every drive. To me it’s those hidden plays missed that can swing games 14 to 21 points, and I know most think Mertz is great to have but holy crap he misses wide open reads very often. ESPECIALLY against great teams, lacks confidence IMO
What are your thoughts on the gators play calls into the boundary. Not sure if it’s Billy or the qbs but I feel like we don’t always take full advantage of our speed in space to the field? I ask this after watching the 3rd and 3 that mertz dumped off and Hanson in the flat on the first drive
Man I'm so stoked for DK. he was a phenomenal pick up to replace ricky. Sad he's only around for this year though, him and DJ next year would be like batman & robin in the SEC. Putting amazing work on film already this season too, first rounder 100%.
Also, I love Montrell and his leadership, but Baugh and Jackson are impressive as a duo. I really like Jackson. He needs more carries because it feels like he could break it big almost every time. Even Webb, the last game he played, went into Beast mode. I guess it's a great problem to have but these young backs need the ball!
@@afrohawk yes! Baugh and Jackson are pure grade NFL backs. I feel like Jackson would transfer after this year and be a 1,000 yard rusher at any SEC school, he’s got more burst than them all and is the perfect red zone back. Baugh just god given RB ability

@@tylerbyrd1372 had a great dual threat QB that was great for his system. And the level of coaching in the Sunbelt wasn’t the top of the class like the SEC. I never liked that while at UL, his teams were favored by 14 points or more and he always had to squeeze out close wins. Got to call the game aggressive for 60 minutes
@rickyrougs Ya, comes to Florida an acts like he's never recruited an oline before. Even hired 2 oline coaches and still can't replicate his success at UF like he did with Louisiana!!!
Hypothetical but serious question..If firing Napier meant that we lose Lagway to the portal, and probably to a rival, would we be better or worse off to just keep Billy?
worse 100%. what good is it to have a good player if he is going to be handcuffed by poor coaching? i think lagway will stay either way though to be fair.
I think Lagway would be smart enough to hang around and talk to the new coach and find out what the new schemes will consist of. If it's an air-raid type of scheme, he'd definitely hang around. If he thinks it will be a run heavy scheme, he's off to the portal.
I expect a lot of 3 and out against tenn with Billy calling 1st down runs up the middle and wr screen on 2nd down with a 4 hitch routes on 3rd down all game. It's all he knows. Lord forbid he goes back to anything that works well. Hope we win in spite of all the known issues with the play calling. Would love to have some Miami level help from the refs for once against Tenn. Go Gators!!
How can these coaches not see these defenses are scared to death of Lagway's bravado, accuracy and timing expressed in their defensive alignments and schemes. The run game would EXPLODE if DJ played the whole game. We know what we have with Mertz and we can come back to it if things go sideways with DJ at the helm. DJ has to start IMO.
One thing your content shows is if Billy gets a lead those behind the line throws are his favorite play. A true sin when you have the talent of DJ to open the field for better play calling.
I’ll give The O’Billy an Excuse this game Because Your Two Most Explosive Players were Out, But only 12 plays ran half through the 4th quarter in the second half Meh, solid to mid performance by Mertz, Billy still gotta Put Together A Full Game Plan tho not putting atleast 30 points on this Mid UCF Defense meh
It's so strange how some quarterbacks just have that "field vision" and some don't. Wuerffel, Tebow and Trask had it 100%. Other guys who looked good in practice, and SHOULD have had it, like Richardson, Emory, Franks, Appleby, Driskel, and Brantley didn't have it. Yeah, they could sometimes make the throws, but they often missed wide open receivers because they couldn't see the entire field. They get tunnel vision and that limits their effectiveness and makes the entire offense pedestrian. I agree that Lagway needs to be the starter. And yeah, he's gonna have bad games, all freshman do, but the upside is so much greater with him. We just have to hope he doesn't have a John Reaves 9-interception type game.
You say Dj dimes? Na it’s DJ dotway🐊🔥💯
10:33 I was just gonna say why your waiting to throw the ball and you said it😭😭 this shit don’t be rocket science

Nice Job. Now, if Only Napier can figure out "Halftime Adjustments"... smh
More like lack there of
I think that was Mullens greatest skill, he made amazing halftime adjustments. We made a major mistake firing him.
A lot of FIB with BN. I think he knows Mertz is limited. He does a good job of taking care of the ball but not a game changer

I think under Napier, Florida has had poor clock management in at least 2 out of 3 games. They have terrible “2 min” concepts.

Can’t complain too much about a win, just simulating this performance vs. better teams. Go Gators!
facts, lagway needs entire quarters.
Yeah he missed an open Dike down field early. He misses an open guy every drive.
If we don't have a consistent defense you need a slow offense to keep them off the field.

thanks for the video
That entire second half was SCARED MONEY.
That made no money and scored no points

My thoughts on most of Billy's play calls and passing designs are that I am not a fan.
I love the new podcast format. It makes it easier to relisten to the opponent breakdown on Friday, or Saturday morning
Great feedback, thanks!

Marijuana mertz. Dude got a weed card or something over the off-season
Why did Billy's offense and pretty much everything he did at Louisiana work?

Worse off. Easily. Lagway with Napier as his coach isn't viable. You gotta get rid of Napier regardless. If we lose Lagway, oh well.
