Pass blocking needs improvement especially at tackle and dj needs to improve when teams drop 8 on him in coverages. Uf need a oc so bad it’s not even funny.

Was wonder if possible can u do individual player breakdown in the offseason their strengths n weakness and what can they do to improve in the offseason as far asweigth room or technique issues or jus a efort problem also with incoming recuirts that can play ealry . A session about the all the good schemed plays we have ran on the season offensively n defensively i really enjoy your content need some football to get me ready for next season

3:47 I do think Castell was supposed to run vertical with the #2 receiver but obviously no idea what the call was and assignments. Definitely cover 3 but figured would be played with match principles where if 1 is vertical the rolling down safety has to take #2 vertical and stick with him as well. Shallow from the 2 receiver on the other side one of the middle linebackers should have ran with him I think but hey it all worked out. Castell did get great disruption on the route of #2 which helped get two receivers with no spacing in the same area.

On the Burke touchdown he had two other options that would’ve been touchdowns, that was a nice play design

That int looks like it was for Chimere. It looks like he was throwing it to a spot for Chimere to only be there. From the throw Chimere probably should’ve ran to the corner and Burke should’ve ran a hitch.

So right about not talking trash after getting beat (D. Johnson). This game could have been very different without all the gifts. Lots of room for improvement for Florida. 31-11 is a mirage.

@james I've heard you and Allen talk ad nauseum about "success rate" the last 3 years. Billy's inherent passing offense weakness in that area, and the need for a pass minded OC to pair with Billy's good Run Offensive scheme. I agree.... and the "statistics bare that out"... With that in mind, and the fact that Florida has statistically gotten worse in all success rate aspects of the game, ignoring the tougher schedule, is it possible to perhaps compare the first half of the seasons success rate to the back half's? they average out as a statistical step back, but has there been a step forward if we account only for the last 5 or 6 games? I know thats nit picking, but part of the reason our success rate was low, was because Mertz wasnt vertically aggressive nor apt enough to really open up opposing defenses, not to mention the mobility of a Lagway. I feel like, Mertz was the better quarterback, but Lagway was better for the offense,. Not sure if the numbers bare that out. I just sense some similarities in Tebows (long ball) and running ability really compounding the overall success rate of intermediate routes, and less people in the box. Sure this season looks rough, but I'd say theres a strong case to be made that the last 4 or 6 games are more indicative of next season than the season as a whole.

Great breakdown as always James. Do you think there is a way the existing offense could be improved with updated route concepts. I know you sometimes compare Billy’s offense to Shanahan in SF. Do you think bringing someone from that organization like Klay Kubiak could help update the offense to being more functional? He is currently their Passing Game coordinator and has experience as an assistant QB coach and Defensive Analyst. He also played QB in college. Maybe someone in that mold could be a solution.

James, I couldn't agree with you more about DBs talking trash and flexing after getting their butts handed to them on the play. I think you're absolutely correct. Just shut up, walk back to the LOS and do better next time (not to mention saying a thank you to God that you didn't give up a tuddy). I'm not picking on our guy, but it's several times every game.

Have you ever shot skeet? The clays going right to left or left to right are always harder to shoot than the ones going away from you. I think that is what Lagway is struggling with and should be able to clean that up.

Love this stuff. If you are looking for something to do over the break - more throwback! I'd really love to know how Spurrier used to tear up the SEC for instance. Maybe one of the SEC championships or the 98 game against fsu. and as long as I am asking, review some of a NC under Tebow, though I think you have broken down that offense with Mullen. Maybe emmitt smith then - how did he run for so many yards against bama in 87? and truly amazing (since it was blacked out due to ncaa violations) would be the game where kerwin bell lead UF back against auburn. But if you just take a break that is cool too, these are really interesting.

Cold weather definitely at play as you mention. The FSU fumbled punt catch was definitely caused in part by it from how it looked in Doak. Players looked frigid.

I dont think i ever saw a CFB team develop their players this fast. Aaron Gates, Bryce Thornton, both lines, Lagway, and the RBs continue growing game after game. Billy put together a damn good staff. Just about everyone in that locker room is bought in!!!!

Both Burke and Dike ran the wrong routes, they were supposed to run hitches 😂.

I think Lagways bad passes are a result of him being used to slower receivers. I could be wrong he has had a whole season to get it right, but I think it’s shows how the speed differential between high school and college.

DJ lets his elbow lead too much on these throws and it the reason why they sail. Get too open on the front shoulder too soon. Doesn't show as much on the deep ball.

Great Breakdown!!!! Are you going to do breakdown of transfers like you did with Mertz because i watched that video before all the media started talking and all the "fans" and knew from your video what we were getting would help us. I would watch videos similar for new transfers this season.
