Ihana Pön Pretty good list, you have definitely saw really good Finnish movies thefore I unfortunately have to say it doesn't get any better than this but there is a few other Finnish movies that are as good as these your favourites :) If you don't mind the age of the movies there are many great Finnish movies to pick. My favourite old Finnish movie is Komisario Palmun erehdys (1960). www.imdb.com/title/tt0054001/?ref_=ttls_li_tt
If you want older comedy check out Uuno Turhapuro, Vääpeli Körmy or basicly anything with Pertti "Spede" Pasanen or Veli-Matti "Vesku" Loiri in them. And while we're on Vesku I would recommend Pahat Pojat. Also check out Häjyt and Leijonasydän.
Oh and if you are not against black and white you really should check the original Tuntematon Sotilas movie. I still prefer it over the new one. Talvisota is another good war movie if you are interested. Both are somewhat true to their real history.
The movie you went to see is actually the third movie to be based on the book of the same name, written just a couple years after World War 2. The first one was also filmed within two years of the book coming out, and the second one in 1985. Personally, I'd recommend you watch all of them if you can, as they are all done in different manners, focusing on different aspects of war and the soldiers in it.
There's older versions of "Tuntematon sotilas"! You should maybe watch them too? And i have a couple of recommendations! All "Uuno Turhapuro" movies! They are quite long and old, but they are classic movies that everybody knows about! On "YLE AREENA" (an app, or website it depends if you are on a computer or wht) you can find many different finnish series for example "Uusi päivä" (a pretty old one) and yeah and i think they have english subtitles but im not sure :/
I would recommend that too. Especially if you like Mother of Mine as it has the same director (Klaus Härö). He usually always makes good movies (so remember that name).
I'm studying the Japanese language and one of my favorite movies is 'Kamome Diner'. The events are happening in Finland, Helsinki. May be you'll be interested in this story? "Sachie, from Japan, opens the "Kamome Diner" in Helsinki, Finland. The specialty menu is Onigiri rice ball or o-musubi. However, the only customer day after day is Tommi, a Finnish boy obsessed with 'Gatchaman' the Japanese cartoon. One day, two Japanese ladies, each with some personal issues, come to help at Sachie's diner. The number of customers gradually increases, but the diner seems to attract only those with problems. Conversation with Sachie and the tasty food seem to resolve people's woes." The Finnish is beautiful language! I'm interested in Finland as well, but I think that Finnish language is harder than Japanese :) I enjoyed to watch your videos, Pon! :)
Tuntematon Sotilas/Okänd Soldat, I personally think the ORIGINAL Black and White version is the "one and only", then again that is often what we "older" people do. BTW You are charming.
These were all good movies! How about a Finnish Hollywood production movie? Have you seen *BIG GAME* ? That is SUCH an awesome adventure movie!!! You have to watch it! And *RARE EXPORTS* -Thomas

IKILOMALLA wow I didn’t know about Finnish Hollywood production movie! I’ll check out both of them! Kiitos!
Toni Ruha Don't you try to troll her, it is definitely NOT a horror film. It is an adventure movie with a little bit of swearing. Ps. Recommend you all to not watch Big Game (if you are an aldult), it is just a 2 and half star movie and also stereotypic kids adventure movie. Rare Export was ok but not that good as a movie, if you don't watch it you won't miss anything so meh..
You have great taste. Frozen Land , Drifting Clouds and Unknown Soldier are my favorites too. Here`s some of my other favorite Finnish movies Purge (Puhdistus) (2012) The Grump (Mielensäpahoittaja) (2014) Heart of a lion (Leijonasydän) (2013) The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki (Hymyilevä Mies) (2016) Ariel (1988) The Year of The Hare (Jäniksen Vuosi) (1977) Hellsinki (Rööperi) (2009)

A good Russian film you might see in Finland is "Kukushka" (2002) which is a comedy of errors set in Finland. Unless you are a language genius, subtitles in your own language are essential for this film! ua-cam.com/video/dow9SRj9A0g/v-deo.html
Tell me if any of my favorite Finnish movies are also your favorite and remember to LIKE & SUBSCRIBE if you enjoyed this video!😊😊😊

Watch Nousukausi. Not so famous movie but it has typical dry sort of humor of typical Finnish movie.
