Es el mejor análisis que he visto en UA-cam hasta ahora sobre Blanca Paloma. Ella tiene una voz increíble, fuera de serie y la controla con perfección. Las armonías son una maravilla y los efectos visuales, hipnóticos. Tanto la "intro" como la "outro" son impresionantes.

Llevo 2 dias de maratón viendo videos de reacción a Blanca Paloma y desde luego éste es el mejor , no se si es porque entiende el español y nuestra cultura o porque reconoce que esta cancion le ha emocionado , ya que a los españoles nos emociona .... Enhorabuena por su trabajo
Ya an vuelto de nuevo a críticar a España en la televisión Italiana , riéndose de ella y diciendo k solo grita y berrea , ya estoy un poco arto de las críticas de Italia ,el año pasado con Chanel se pasaron un montón , que coño pasa a Italia no lo entiendo parece que nos tengan manía no tienen respeto ninguno.

Estoy totalmente de acuerdo contigo, se podria pintar un cuadro con cada fotograma. La voz de Blanca pura emoción ..... y para mi una de las mejores canciones que vamos a llevar a Eurovisión desde su comienzo. Es hipnótica y no te deja indiferente, lo que tu comentas puro ARTE.
Para que imitar a los demás, cuando somos los mejores en lo nuestro.
Muchas veces somos nosotros mismos nuestros principales enemigos, siempre pensando que lo nuestro es peor que lo de los demás. Persiguiéndonos ese complejo de inferioridad, que espero podamos superar algun dia.

As Spanish woman has to thank you a lot your in- depth analysis. It's very nice to see how people like you are able to appreciate Flamenco as a universal art and not only as simple folklore.
Unfortunately, this song is outside the mainstream of Eurovision Contest.
As everybody knows Spain is different!!! However, no matter what the result is this year, it is very difficult to win because of other out- of- control factors, as usual......I am aware of that.
The important thing is that Spain is going to share with the rest of Europe part of its rich culture. I hope you enjoy it.

As a long-time Eurovision fan since 2008, this is my favourite to win this year. Not just because of the song but also because of the entire package - the staging, her voice, the choreography (if you've seen her live performance) - all of it is so filled with meaning that reflects the song. I don't think there's any other song that deserves to win (and yes, that includes the favourite to win Sweden).
Also if you ask me, you've come at the right time to explore Eurovision. In the over 15 years of being a fan, I've seen a lot of change, and there are more "gems" in the past 5 or so years than two decades ago. One just has to keep an open mind to discover them. ;)
I wish Europe was so sensitive as you but I'm afraid they won't be able to understand this art and will prefer something light and catchy as the Norway's entry. Never mind, it is worth by itself being massively voted or not, it's something to be proud of.
Unfortunately the caotic song from Finland will win instead 😢

Hay quien la compara con Rosalía, pero ya quisiera tener esta última los conocimientos en escenografía y sobre todo la capacidad vocal de la artista ilicitana. Tu comentario se alinea perfectamente con mi sensación primera hacia Eaea: una declaración de amor incondicional y el deseo de poder estar allí para nuestros chicos siempre, más allá de la muerte (y aunque ya no sean niños, no te relajás tanto cómo creés, al menos en mi experiencia); el envoltorio de ese contenido (música, voz, interpretación, puesta) lo eleva a la enésima. Finalmente, gracias por el análisis detallado que me hizo descubrir detalles y matices que no había visto conscientemente.

Totally agree with you...its art, not comercial but top quality, elegance and the lyrics was written by Federico Garcia Lorca..a big writter from Spain.Her mother sang this lullaby to her..she loves flamenco thanks to her..above all her vocals technically perfect. The beat pattern is the one of the "bulería" a variety or so called "palo" of flamenco. So this is a lullaby sung in a bulería.
She is extraordinary , just a naked voice with so huge range of values and added to a beautifull performance full of elements which elevate even more each personal touch of that deep feelings lyrics, that touch Hearts and Souls. Its magical in all aspects. All those new versions that she has brought in the pre Parties giving a new twist to this song. Its quite evident, she IS talented. Cause its original out of any commercial songs that we can fed up of listening. Una delle migliori proposte mai portate all'Eurovision, da tutti i punti di vista: voce meravigliosa e potente, presenza scenica e carisma dell'interprete, rilettura moderna di un tema tradizionale dai chiari riferimenti a García Lorca, il flamenco come rappresentazione della storia e della cultura di un popolo (ovviamente la Spagna non è solo flamenco, ma è anche flamenco). Sono veramente ammirata, c'è una grande qualità, siamo a un livello decisamente superiore. Non so se vincerà, ma non è importante, per me la Spagna ha già vinto 👏👏👏❤️🇮🇹

I'm glad you liked one of my suggestions. I doubt you'll have the same reaction for the other non-commercial song this year (Croatia), because they're basically polar opposites. :)
Everyone is expecting this to do well with the professional juries (because of the amazing live vocal and performance), but when it comes to the televote, it's completely unpredictable. As a non-Spanish person that hasn't grown up in the cultural context that appreciates flamenco, I'm engaging with this song on a completely intellectual level, while on the emotional front I'm drawing a complete blank(a), which I think is the opposite of intended.
I like to compare these traditional forms of singing (Spanish flamenco, Slavic white voice, Scandinavian jojking etc.) with fermented cheese/fish - they are an acquired taste. Norway was quite successful in 2019 by wrapping jojking in a bun of a safe generic pop song. Ukraine in 2021 was successful in using Slavic white voice singing, drawing lyrical inspiration from their national folklore, to create a techno bop rave song, which I, as a Slav, found quite surprising, as I typically associate white voice singing with dirges and similarly melancholic music. Maybe this year Spain has finally found a recipe for making the fermented cheese/fish of flamenco palatable for the rest of Europe. :)
Historically, flamenco has done very poorly for them at Eurovision, but, in my opinion, this is miles ahead of any of their previous flamenco entries.

Un análisis perfectamente desarrollado y expuesto. La música es, fundamentalmente sensación y sentimiento. Y tú lo has captado al 100%. Esa raíz flamenca por bulerías, la mezcla tecno, los aires andalusíes y arábigos, todo para acunar a un bebé y hacerle sentir feliz y tranquilo para dormis confiado porque su madre le cuida. The bass in the background is almost like a heartbeat, the music is very subtle to let the voice dominate the sound. The music is there purely to accompany the voice, the perfect amount of soft against her powerful and tough voice.

The song itself (music, singing, clapping) is a bulería, kind of a specific 'subgenere' of flamenco with a modern twist of an electronic beat.
The topic and the lyrics come from the POV of a woman singing a lullaby, trying to put her crying baby to sleep ('Eaea' is a cooing sound in Spain)
The performance and staging are the ones of a ritual, summoning her ancestors. Specially her late grandma, wich this song is inspired by and dedicated to, because she taught and used to sing flamenco and lullabies to her.
The repetitive pattern of the beat, backing vocals and rythmic clapping are intended to be entrancing and hypnotizing for connecting with the energy of the experience. Her hand movements work as a praise and a calling to the above.
The red threads are a reference to the fringes of a traditional 'mantón' (shawl) simbolizing protection, motherhood, in fact she said it could be seen sort of womb-shaped. Actually she worked as a costume and stage set designer, as she did here too.
The white circle represents the moon, where, as the lyrics say, she wants to be buried in when she dies, so she will be able to watch over her child everynight but one ('newmoon')
First she kneels looking up, later she kneels again looking downwards, always with a reaching hand.
Then she shoots a flaming arrow and lights it on fire (red pulsing light, heartbeat, blood, death) Finally the priestess gets on the shrine to end the ritual in ecstasy.

I'm curious about your comment relating it to arab music. I do think you understand a lot about music and you can clarify us much about the connections of this music. I heard Flamenco was allegedly created by gipsies in Spain. Nevertheless We have jotas and other styles which do keep long sustained voices with ornaments too, all over the peninsula (not only south). I listened not so long ago some greek music pieces too, and they sounded to me familiar somehow. It seems a mess, but it's pretty interesting to be understood. Hope you can put some light in this some day with any video. Thanks again.

Too good for Eurovision and the average music listening voter. EAEA was easily my favourite song. Future Flamenco could actually be a new and exciting genre to look out for based on this work of art. The blend of electronics and those dreamlike vocals is mesmerising.

No solamente es la voz de Blanca, la polifonia de ese coro tipo "eslavo". Espero que la representación de Liverpool, el coro suene como en el video, y no quede solo la voz de ella. Pienso que el sobreagudo del vídeo lo dará en Liverpool,como broche final.

Serbia because it shifts between soft to hyperpop to industrial a la Nine Inch Nails. Latvia because the time signature is quite unique from all the other rock entries this year (and also the band has a great discography like their 2022 album).
