Which place did you guys like the look of the most? Just a reminder, this trip was in January 2022 when we had to run the gauntlet of the Thailand Pass Test & Go scheme. As of July 2022 all these rules are gone, so this is a unique document of a strange and weird time of travelling, that wasn’t without its rewards though! Big shout out also to Paddy, check out this Thailand and Vietnam adventures here: ua-cam.com/users/PaddyDoyleYT
This did southern Thailand justice. Incredible footage! Made my eyes water a few times. I really liked the shots on Koh Phi Phi Going there in Oct. For 3 months. So excited. Thank you for sharing. Great work!
There's nothing like a karl watson travel documentary, one of the most unique and well crafted channels out there. You've got a great sense of personality and humor as well as some great cinematography and editing expertise. Well done as always man 👏
This must be one of the best all in Thailand "vlog" , can't call it a vlog, it's better than that. I had the pleasure of seeing much of the places you visit in the south just a week before you did. The whole covid situation didn't bother me much, it was a good experience to see Thailand so quit but for the locals I hope they survived the pandemic. I'm going back to Thailand at the end of this month for my 9th trip to Thailand and I've already booked for march next year for my 10th visit to show friends around this amazing country! Thank you Karl for this amazing video, you did Thailand amazing justice.
Karl - Thailand is now on my bucket list! ⛱️🐘🍜🇹🇭😍 Loved this series, thanks for sharing the lows and the highs of travel and taking us along for the ride. Can't wait for the next series 🍻
How does this not have a million likes? How do you not have millions of subscribers? This was put together better than any TV program I’ve seen! Excellent job! New sub, can’t wait to go!
I’ve been following all your travels since the start of HK2NY and I have been saying ever since that your editing skills is by far the best on UA-cam as far as I’m concerned and this edit is absolutely brilliant - well done 👏🏻
I remember watching your first Thailand series the first time I went in 2017. So cool to watch another when I'm planning my trip there this October. And you definitely sold me on Koh Lanta! You capture the vibes of southeast asia in such an incredible way!
I have just smiled right through this video. I have been once to thailand in 2010 for 3 weeks, its the most amazing place i have ever been and would love to go back someday.
Karl, I never watch videos for 50+ minutes unless it's educational or training for my business. My man, I've watched four of your long and entertaining videos (3 of Vietnam because we visited there in 2018). You are a pro dude. I cast your videos from my phone to my TV set and relax on my sofa and enjoy. Kudos man...kudos!👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Thank you so much for highlighting that bathing Elephants is not a good thing to do! I was last in Thailand in 2019 and made a point of properly researching and getting trusted recommendations for an ethical sanctuary, as I know you have to be so careful with animal tourism to make sure the animals aren't being exploited or hurt in anyway. I had absolutely no idea that bathing was bad, and unfortunately it is something I participated in as I didn't know any better. :( I'll be going back to Thailand for a couple of months towards the end of this year, so very grateful for the new knowledge so me and other backpackers can make sure we're supporting the right places and no Elephants are being mistreated!
I really appreciate your insight about ethical practices around elephants! For people that want to be very thoughtful about which sanctuaries to visit, which ones in Thailand would you recommend that are ethical? Would be really grateful for your advice! Thank you so much :)
After travelling for 4 months I got somewhat numb to the beauty that I came across on my trip. Sailing into Khao Sok however gave me this "omg this is breathtaking" moments again. Such a beautiful place. If you ever can, do the overnight stay, it's bloody amazing!
I stayed in Koh Sok for the overnight experience. I got bitten by a spider in the face, a bat was hanging from the top of my hut in the middle of the night and a monkey kept me awake all night. 🤣 Still worth it tho. You missed out on one of the best view points in thailand by not climbing the rope in railay beach and also the hidden lagoon which is one of the most beautiful things I saw there. You should look it up. You will have to go back again. Thailand revisited revisited
Wow, that was awesome. I was totally immersed from start to finish. Probably the best video travel blog I ever saw. Superb job mate. I was in my own little world throughout that. What a place too. I'd do anything to get myself over there to experience that beautiful and awesome scenery. It really is heaven on earth.
Great Video!! Funny enough my trip started near the same time and I visited most of the same places. This was a great way to reminisce. As for the ending I absolutely agree, something was telling me it was just time to go so we went. I think it was the perfect time to go. All the tourists were gone and the the Thais were so happy to have us and all the experiences were just that much more special without the crowds. It is something we may never be able to experience again and so happy to see others get to enjoy Thailand like I did!!
Karl, another epic video. My only complaint is that I wish there were many more and I could tune in every week. The style and quality of your videos knocks socks off just about all the other content on YT and I would even favour sitting down to an evening of this than the garbage that is on tv. Huge thumbs up.
Khao Sok National Park is one of the most beautiful destinations in Thailand. Because of the 2 day tour where you go deep into the ancient jungle and where you have the opportunity to stay in a unique location, this park is great to visit.
GOAT level documentary making as always. I feel like there's unfinished Karl Tour business in Thailand. It's such a ridiculously amazing and diverse country and given how it panned out here, my advise would be to get planning an even more epic tour ASAP! Chang Mai/Rai anyone?
Incredible journey Karl! Amazing editing and story telling! Loved it and Koh Lanta always been on top of my list and sure enough it remains! Thank you 😊 Sabrina 🇫🇷🇬🇧
Great job with this vlog Karl!!! Loved every minute of this and will def use this for inspo for my Thai trip. Shoutout Walid, brought a lot of charisma to this ep 🙌
Loved watching these Karl. I first visited Thailand in 1995 aged 23. I didn’t return until 2017 . Far too long. Heading back in a couple of weeks , this has really put me in the right headspace to just go and chill out and enjoy everything Thailand has to offer 😎
There's just something about Thailand I've been there three times and keeps you wanting to go back for more. It's the gateway to backpacker style travel and I love that. On a serious note where's James 😄
Absolutely wonderful trip, very well organized(even in crazy covid times)... those islands are wonders.... keep up the good work.. will definitely join you in one of such trips.
I was blessed to experience most of your trip on my 50th b day. 3 months of unforgettable adventures. Thank you for your gorgeous filming. Thailand was uncrowded and easy to explore, twenty years ago. And she is uncrowded again during the gov lockdowns. 💜 I'm happy the elephants are finally being treated with compassion 💕
Great series Karl! It was nice to see a few familiar faces. There are so many funny moments in these two episodes, lol. Brilliant work! I need to revisit Thailand asap. Can't wait for the next series! 😀
I was there in 2012 and 2014. Back than maya bay was packed with people. I couldnt enjoy it or take a nice proper picture. I would like to do a do over and be there as early as possible. Next year im taking my brother to thailand. It will be my 5th trip to this magical country allready. And it will be his 1st trip travelling that far. (Amsterdam- Bangkok) Each time im in Thailand, feels like the 1st time. Allways New things to see and do. I love you, Thailand !
Awesome to see u in Thailand again! Your videos have inspired me to go there which was a childhood dream of mine that I was talked out of a couple times by ppl that swore it was too sketchy and dangerous in Thailand. Obviously, as usual,it's like any other place where a little common sense will keep you as safe as anywhere else.
Just started watching the episode.. and wanted to say Huge Thank You for bringing up the elephants riding and the whole tourist entertainment subject. Hopefully, today someone realized , like you did a few years back, how unethical it’s! ❣️
One of the best blogs on our fave part of Thailand! We first went to Krabi Province and 5-6years ago (Maya beach had been shut by then) and did pretty much all you’ve done on this video. We went to Phuket after Vietnam and Cambodia a year or so later and didn’t really like Patong, not our vibe at 50+ and swore that we would come back to Krabi again to leave Thailand on a high before setting off for other places in the world. Covid got in the way, but now having just experienced our first cruise out of Miami, again good but not great we decided to book Krabi again for September to finish the year on a high. So, this time starting in Bangkok for 3 nights, as not done that before and feel we need to experience then staying in Ao Nang again and plan to do Railay, 4 islands, Hong Island, Ko Phi Phi and Maya and can’t wait as we know it’s going to be just the best. Also planning to do the national park and elephants (we had 2 nights, one night on the lake thoroughly recommended and another in a posh tent complex near elephant hills back in the days when washing elephants was allowed, but glad it’s not now), but may just do that as a day trip. Anyway, many thanks for a superb blog, subscribed and will re-watch this video again!
Surat Thani is my hometown and I've been to Khaosok several times but never visited the elephant sanctuary. Your video takes me to places that a local doesn't even know exist. I'll definitely follow your path.
OMG so happy Thailand change it.....i remember when i went was all the boat parked one to other and a real mess....now i just wanna go back...thanks for this great vid....but i feel u missed Tonsai beside Raley.....my favorite spot in thailand

Reminds me of the Philippines vid with the awful whale shark feeding. Hope they stopped that.

It was, soooo much fun 👍
