I am 34 and have very dry skin. I usually use 1.5 pumps of foundation but this one requires 1 pump or less for me to look beautiful. It is great for me and the color pearl matches well. Thanks for this review.
I was freaked out about the ingredients too but I bit the bullet. And I'm so glad i did! I cannot put this one down. I think it looked beautiful on you. 💙
I love this foundation. It's my current go-to, and in this shade (which is what brought me here - I'm looking for someone who has my skin tone to see what other things look good on them ;) so, subbed! ). My skin is normal, pretty much. I have days here and there where my T-zone is a little oily, but not often. When I get blemishes, they will eventually dry out and get scaly and flaky. I'm on the far side of 49, and this foundation will occasionally settle in the lines in my forehead and in the corners of my mouth, but not so much my smile lines. Sometimes it has a weird texture at the edge of where it meets my undereye concealer, but I feel like I have to be all up in my magnifying mirror for that to really be an actual thing. It wears pretty well - though I don't know that there is a foundation made that doesn't break down on my nose within minutes, which is wicked frustrating.
So super helpful review. The fragrance is so unnecessary and I wish they would just leave it out. Shade 400 also works for me and I'm definitely more cool neutral.
Thanks Nicole. You brought up a good point about alcohol possibly causing dryness. I should start checking the ingredients on the makeup I purchase and start schooling myself a bit in this area.
@@frecknic Thanks! You know how they are increasing the manufacturing of pet food in China and how so many pets have become ill because of the cheap and toxic ingredients they use? You see dog food recalls all of the time because of this. Well, I worry when cosmetics companies 're-formulate' when they are really trying to cut costs. There is probably a cosmetic recall list somewhere just like with pet food.
As always your reviews are super informative and helpful. I wear Pearl too and it's perfect on me. I notice the scent very much too and so tend not to wear it a lot.
I’ve noticed some products that oxidize do it worse on my arm compared to my face too. I thought maybe it was just me not being able to tell a difference between my face and my arm LOL
I just got the Beyond Perfecting in shell and I’m in love! It’s not as perfect a match as Double Wear in 0N1, but I find it’s still *really* good (looks like a near perfect match even in direct sunlight). It just looks so good on my skin! Edit: I’d love to try the L’Oréal foundation but the alcohol in it will wreak havoc on my rosacea 😕
You, Taylor and geekoutofwater are the best beauty youtubers, I am so so happy that I found you! And you are definitely the biggest experts on "skin-targeted" makeup products. The shade on your eyelid is so flattering, your eyes kind of pop with it on! How would you say this foundation (especially the shade) compares with MAC Studio Fix in NW10?
Thank you! NW10 is a bit darker and more pink/peach where Pearl is more yellow. The L'Oreal formula wears better on me personally, but my skin generally doesn't get along well with foundation.

This is a formula I can wear under my eyes okay, so most of the time that's what I do. My favorite concealer formula is Cover FX Power Play in N Fair 1 but it's a little pale for my preferences with this foundation. NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Chantilly or elf Hydrating Camo Concealer in Fair Warm are my other, less pale, favorites. Sorry on taking so long to get back to you, I missed the notification!
All foundation lately not sheer to low coverage is breaking down on my skin lately. Even on my dry patches is breaking down. Do you have a couple favorite sheer to low coverage foundations in your shade? I find we are close shade match. Thanks.
Hmm, that's a good question. There aren't a ton of pale, low coverage options that I'm aware of. First thing that comes to mind is the Natasha Denona Face Glow in 10. It's a bit dark but being so glossy and on the light coverage side it's workable. Downsides are strong fragrance and is pretty thick/tacky. But it's beautiful once it's on.
I'm trying a sample of the new shades in Clinique (beyond perfecting) and shell matches my chest super well but looks a bit pale on my face so I'm trying custard. Nars ADWL is my best match, ever, but hard to find and the formula is.... okay. The loreal works if I do the right stuff underneath and I have no idea how I could do a swatch but I happen to have 400, 405 and 420. Did you have to order the Flower Beauty? I really want to try that shade!!
I was a little surprised I've been struggling a bit with the new NARS formula, I just don't seem to get along with any of their foundations! I found the new Flower shade in store at Walmart, totally by accident 😁
@@frecknic I agree with you as I can only use the older all day weightless luminous and not any of the other formulas! Our Walmart has the Flower beauty so I'm hoping to run out and snag it.
It's similar, more of a yellow/beige undertone compared to the peachier Light Porcelain. In swatches I find CSWS dries down a bit darker so it might be darker after fully setting, I'm not sure. But fresh, I think Light Porcelain is a smidge lighter but to me the undertone also makes it look a little brighter? I posted a picture in my Instagram Stories of the swatch.

Alcohol is becoming more common in both skincare and makeup so it's definitely one to keep an eye out for!

How does the shade compare to NYX can't stop won't stop in Light Porcelain? That's a good match for me and I wondered if this might be ok.
