Awesome skills man,i would give my left testicle to ride that well, obviously you have two, And they are massive! Ty for the video, i am edging closer to the tl now 👍😆
You are some rider, i dunno if its brilliance, having a screw loose or a bit of both but clearly youve got that pinned and leaned right over which takes some doin on any bike but on a widowmaker is hugely impressive. Ive known some hugely talented headcases in my 63 years but you take the biscuit. Take care matey, i really enjoyed this and its riders like yourself who race the IOM TT.
I would luv one. We grew up on jap spagbol frames in the 70s and early 80s and even the 1955 BSA 650 pre unit handled better than any jap bike of the era and was better than the triumph bonneville especially with bonnys lockhead brakes forks yokes. Steady as a rock and a work of art those old BSA twin frames even the lovely rigid frame of 1949. The girder forks looked great but teles were better and the plunger frame was optional later. BSA made bthem out of the surplus gunmetal from WW2 and the braising was so beautifully done, as good as the new Norton 961 commandos.
I had a 2000 TL1000R. Looked great in blue and white and still does today! The top end was quite impressive for a twin, but I did not like the flat spots down low - especially off the line. Vibration was fairly controlled, the bike was stable, but the rear shock was soft - with little feedback to the rider. I have gone back to four's looking for a smoother ride.
I just tuned mine made right adjustments to the front forks along with the rear.. and I had plenty of feedback. Full system tuned there is no flat spot and it's gearing changes for Conditions so I don't have those concerns
Thanks for the ride along! I am going carbon fiber BSTs soon and ditching the chrome rims. I have a 1999 TL1000R. Second owner but have had it since my 30s.
Yeah I wanted to buy a set of BST for my tlr and the representative said he does not make them anymore this is straight from the factory they said they don't make them for the tlr anymore
I converted my Honda CR-Z hybrid to a tl-1000 motor that puts down about 170 but it’s the sounds and high revs making it amazing to drive. I’m onto my next project which is getting my tsx in the 11’s either turbo or tesla
Nice ride man and nice to see a tl 1000 flat out and at the start it hard to get any grip with theses monsters and wait till the clutch and back tyre gets to temp and all is good and the power is f@@king awesome
Not only the GSXR but the busa came along at the same time. Couple that with the rear suspension everyone blames for them crashing the bike. And yeah for some reason they just gave up on it. I have an 02 TLR and she aint slow i can keep up with most modern liter bikes and out corner a lot of the 600s out there so i think it was a wasted bike that deserves to be revamp.

@@019208237 Camshafts are slightly revised, Yoshi full exhaust and Powercommander 2, brings 143hp to the clutch ... and suspensions by Wilbers work great
@@raketendaniel5396 wow that’s at least 20 HP increase then. I’d bet by going down a tooth on the front sprocket would feel like an extra 15 HP. I did it to my previous bike a ZZR 1100 D and it makes a big difference. I still saw 175 mph on the clocks but who needs that on public roads. It’s how it got to that speed with the shorter gearing that matters most. I’m going to do the same for my TLR. It will probably show 170mph on the clocks after the sprocket mod and that’s enough for me on the roads😉 what you had done was expensive but the sprocket mid is cheap. Thanks buddy👍
Not positive on his approach but I have a TL1000R, RC 51 and a 999 (that I’ve tracked) and being hit on the throttle immediately coming out of the corners would have taken 1/2 those guys in the beginning. My 999 is relentless coming out of corners and people have always not believed I didn’t have a full race motor (was bone stock with Termi pipe). So do you feel the TL is a lot “porkier” than other V-twins? (On the track)
If you modify the suspension, the TLR is a stable bike, especially on the brakes. And the engine is fun, even if from today's perspective it has far too little power for the racetrack.
@@raketendaniel5396 Ya she does have a hella set of brakes up front, which I like (as I tend to trail brake or brake really late......bad habit from my racing days) but I surely saw why the TL was never really competitive, as compared to the 999 and RC51. It’s like you were thinking......”It’s ok, I’ll pass you in a lap or two.” Haha 🤙

I'd be scratching my head if I were riding a modern day R6 and get overtaken by a TLR... You rode the weels off the old stomper!
Well he does have a 200cc advantage if you you factor in that they allow vtwins to have 200 more cc's

Dude, the inline fours have more horsepower than the tl even with less ccm. The tl wins because of more torque at lower rpm's.
