Bad start but in the end very close 2nd place in the Superike classification
Gibt's die TL noch ?
I owned a TLR for 10 years. A really quick machine in the right hands. I shouldn't have sold it.
You are some rider, i dunno if its brilliance, having a screw loose or a bit of both but clearly youve got that pinned and leaned right over which takes some doin on any bike but on a widowmaker is hugely impressive. Ive known some hugely talented headcases in my 63 years but you take the biscuit. Take care matey, i really enjoyed this and its riders like yourself who race the IOM TT.
I would luv one. We grew up on jap spagbol frames in the 70s and early 80s and even the 1955 BSA 650 pre unit handled better than any jap bike of the era and was better than the triumph bonneville especially with bonnys lockhead brakes forks yokes. Steady as a rock and a work of art those old BSA twin frames even the lovely rigid frame of 1949. The girder forks looked great but teles were better and the plunger frame was optional later. BSA made bthem out of the surplus gunmetal from WW2 and the braising was so beautifully done, as good as the new Norton 961 commandos.
Hello, what rear shock do you use? thank you
I use a Wilbers 641 adjustline, it works very good
The TOOL gives everything
Speedometer 😅
I got a TLR im getting it ready to race. It's completely finished except for racing engine covers. I can't find them anywhere. If you know where I can find some please let me know.thanks👍 you're riding great
This guy didn't have his revs up at the start. He got passed everybody. Only caught one guy. He got left behind in the straight ways
I just pulled my TL out of retirement and I'm going to do some track days. It hasn't been started in 20 years wish me luck 🤞 great video
I will never sell my 01 TLR love every thing about it for a well rounded street bike. With some tuning, mine was putting out little over 148, right gearing, it's a great bike.. that blue and white and solo cowl... still stylish
same bike awsome dude yeah !!!!! greatfull baby
What a ride!! What is the ration you use ?
16/43 on Autodrom Most
@@raketendaniel5396 Tanks!! I use 17/43 on my road TLS. I love it.
Very torquey and there's a real rip at the top of the revs, from about 8 thousand on. Nice!
Just subbed too
Wow another nice ride and she popping and banging when going down them gears and pegs eg foot rests on the floor nice ride man
Nice ride man and nice to see a tl 1000 flat out and at the start it hard to get any grip with theses monsters and wait till the clutch and back tyre gets to temp and all is good and the power is f@@king awesome
just got myself the same bike. Cant believe its so good haha
Awesome driving I’ve had my TL since-98 and it still amazes me
Amazing ride 😃
Ale ich zlałeś jak dzieciaki 😅
why is the bike shaking so much on some corners?
...on the brakes the rear wheel becomes light and a little unsteady, when accelerating out of the corner the front wheel becomes light and the bumpy track does the rest. And the camera has loosened...
nice riding. Not a fan of Most track though, salt mines leave depressions in the ground or so they said, ask me how I know. Yard sale years ago broke everything on a sweet gsxr 750.
Been there
TOO BAD SUZUKI QUIT MAKING THEM.
Old war bird picks off the newer fighters. I loved watching this.
O verdadeiro Ayrton Senna das motocicletas!
hallo Daniel, kann man bischen mehr informationen bekommen über das motorrad ? Ich würde gerne was umbauen.... danke :)
Thanks for the ride along! I am going carbon fiber BSTs soon and ditching the chrome rims. I have a 1999 TL1000R. Second owner but have had it since my 30s.
Yeah I wanted to buy a set of BST for my tlr and the representative said he does not make them anymore this is straight from the factory they said they don't make them for the tlr anymore
I did but just went black. And blue edge to match the 01 blue white.. sexy..
great ride
I still have my TLR ,I love it just found this video never rode mine like that
Had one of those bad boys....Widow Maker! Awesome bike very difficult to ride very fast.....Well done
Nice.
brilliant
👏👏👏💕TLR... Y pesar q fracasó comercialmente... Gran moto!!! Saludos desde 🇦🇷 Argentina ✌️
Ако можех щях да дам 1000 лайка за това майсторско управление....
Not positive on his approach but I have a TL1000R, RC 51 and a 999 (that I’ve tracked) and being hit on the throttle immediately coming out of the corners would have taken 1/2 those guys in the beginning. My 999 is relentless coming out of corners and people have always not believed I didn’t have a full race motor (was bone stock with Termi pipe). So do you feel the TL is a lot “porkier” than other V-twins? (On the track)
If you modify the suspension, the TLR is a stable bike, especially on the brakes. And the engine is fun, even if from today's perspective it has far too little power for the racetrack.
@@raketendaniel5396 Ya she does have a hella set of brakes up front, which I like (as I tend to trail brake or brake really late......bad habit from my racing days) but I surely saw why the TL was never really competitive, as compared to the 999 and RC51. My Duck is point and shoot and she (out of the crate) has been a dream. The RC51 took a little massaging, where I put in some stiffer fork springs, valve emulators, 4 into 1 pipe (+jetting) and some head porting. The TL I have really yet to delve into, so I’d be interested to know what mods you undertook. I also found it cool you were at like 3k when starting......while all the inline 4’s were rapping out. It’s like you were thinking......”It’s ok, I’ll pass you in a lap or two.” Haha 🤙
It's definitely on the heavier side of life
Amazing patience and skill. I would’ve freaked out, tried to pass everyone back in one turn, and crash. Man I still want a TLR!
You make that look easy great riding.
Dude! You can ride! To be able to pull in on those bikes with the TL says a whole lot. My respect to you.
Aswesome videos man... Where are you? Are you still competing?
Not for a few years ... but the TL is still in my garage
Brilliant riding - really enjoyed watching that!
wowwwww
Amazing riding👌 I’d love to know if this is stock and if not what mods. I’ve just bought one. I’ve only covered 2 miles and all I can say is WOW😉
its nearly stock
@@raketendaniel5396 OK thanks buddy, when you say nearly stock does that mean just race cans or did you have other mods?
@@019208237 Camshafts are slightly revised, Yoshi full exhaust and Powercommander 2, brings 143hp to the clutch ... and suspensions by Wilbers work great
@@raketendaniel5396 wow that’s at least 20 HP increase then. I’d bet by going down a tooth on the front sprocket would feel like an extra 15 HP. I did it to my previous bike a ZZR 1100 D and it makes a big difference. I still saw 175 mph on the clocks but who needs that on public roads. It’s how it got to that speed with the shorter gearing that matters most. I’m going to do the same for my TLR. It will probably show 170mph on the clocks after the sprocket mod and that’s enough for me on the roads😉 what you had done was expensive but the sprocket mid is cheap. Thanks buddy👍
Is the track as bumpy as the camera indicates?
Back then the track was really bumpy, but the camera also came off. Sorry for the shaky images
naice zusuki TL 1000R
Just curious if you still have the ol'girl and how she faired after racing. I have an 02 im getting ready to put lighter weight higher compression pistons in 13:1 with lighter connecting rods, titanium wrist pins snd ceramic bearings. Ive already deleted the scissor gears and decompression valves. I plan on tuning it to run 100LL aviation fuel. Should liven things up quite a bit.
Yes, it´s still waiting for the next race, perhaps next yerar? Already 15t miles on racetrack without damaging the engine.
@@raketendaniel5396 15k miles on the track and no drips no runs no errors? I have 22k road miles on mine and it started making god awful noise from the front cylinder that i just cannot figure out. It really sounds like its in the valve train but checked everything twice now and i had a buddy go over it cant find it. Changed tensioners no change valve clearances are good. I got no play in the piston. Heres the kicker its there when its in neutral, 1st with clutch pulled, or loaded the noise never really changes until about 6k rpm. But its a hard knock not just the usual ticking and gear whine. I dont know what else to do other than pull the engine and just rebuild it and hope i find or fix it by accident. Lol.
@@raketendaniel5396 Thats ehy i got all the new pistons and lighter guts. I fugure why not give it a bit more bite to go with its bark.
Guys think just because the bike is 20 years old that it cant hang... WRONG! these bikes are stipud quick and if you update that suspension a tad they're leaners too. Hell stock they flick nicely for a liter bike.
He needs 2 trailers on race day. One for the TLR and one for his gigantic balls. Youre my hero.
Thanks for sharing this. It was... an experience... Well done on the riding
Respect, under-appreciated bikes (they require so little to be A+), and that was a thrill 'going along' on that ride!
tl power v2 !! fantastic moto !
