  • Minnesota April snowstorm brings high winds and snow. Power goes out for a few hours and the generator is needed. Hopefully this will be the last of the big snowstorm this season.

I would install a Emergency generator a permanent one, Northern Hydraulic sells good packages, for that house it should be about a 10 to 15 kw unit. Natural gas unit with a automatic transfer so that even when your not their it will still provide power to your necessary stuff, sump pump, heat, stove, refrigerator and freezer, ect.

Some people say when driving on icy conditions that 4 wheel drive doesn't help. Back when I lived in Illinois going to work one morning on interstate it was nasty and I was in 4 wheel drive going at a good clip no problem , when a car came flying pass me going way over speed limit, going around and round. People just don't use their full brain capacity

Thank you for sharing. I miss winters now that i live in Florida. Not sure I could ever survive your winters but I would sure like to try it for a week just to be cold again and see some real snow fall

I am so thankful that I live in East Texas!!! Daytime temps in lower 70's to lower 80's, have been working in my yard for a month and enjoy it so much after winter. I don't think I could live where winter lasted 6 months out of the year!

wow. This reminds me why I'm glad I moved from Milwaukee to Dallas over 40 years ago. Got my peppers, onions and tomatoes growing right now. We're expecting hail tonight so I moved the pots to under the garage eves.
