Interesting. I've got the regular Talon 22 that I received as a gift for being in a wedding several years back. It's my go-to daypack and all around excellent. This looks like a good beefed up version. Would be great for winter day trips.
In the summer I’d say I have spare room in it but in the winter I have been filling it. Very handy for carrying the drone plus some other bits and bobs camera wise though.
Nice review my Talon 22 is nearly see through after many years use, looking to change it i am a sucker for Osprey kit have been using it for many years.
hi cannot decide between the talon pro 30 and stratos 26 for day hikes i see you list both in your hiking equipment have you used both if so which do prefer
I have the Talon Pro and Dougs has the Stratos (we usually hike together). The one thing I wish the Talon had, which the Stratos has, is the gap between the pack and the shoulder straps. I can imagine this will keep you cooler, although I don’t think the Talon makes you that warm in hot weather.
I have that older Talon 18l and for me the upgrade is worth it. I prefer being able to adjust the torso length, which makes it more comfortable for me on longer days. The side pockets and straps allow me more storage opportunities and the overall extra space is much needed for me when it comes to carrying drones, camera equipment etc.
You can but it wouldn’t be the easiest thing to do. There aren’t any side access points to get into those pockets horizontally that I’ve seen with other backpacks.

Best backpack review I've ever seen!
Thanks Ian
Have the women’s version of this the Tempest 28. I really like it but agree with you about the shoulder pockets they do not stay fastened.
It doesn’t matter if I fasten them before I even put the pack on, they’ll be open again within minutes
@@HighlandHikers Same with mine, I’ve given up bothering.
It’s disappointing, but I still think it’s a great pack

I can easily find myself browsing their website deciding on which new backpack I’d like but don’t actually need!

Thanks for the review - is the Pro version worth the upgrade over a regular Talon? Cheers!

I've been looking at getting this backpack, are you able to get a bottle out of the side pocket without having to take the backpack off?

Does this backpack come with a rain cover??
It doesn’t I’m afraid
