I thinks its about time. We need a porn parody of FF VII. There are 2 ways: 1. Aerith, Tifa, Cloud and Sefiroth in a group sex. I think this is easier. 2. The other is that Aerith is the antagonist. This is the best recap i have ever seen. I didnt want to watch 12 hours of cutscenes or replay the whole game, and most recaps skip over tons of important stuff. This recap legit included everything so i can pick up where I left off with my memory refreshed completely.

I hadn't completely finished ff7 remake and left off on chapter 14, so I was going to watch the cutscenes to catch up before continuing, but I would have to watch 10 hours of cutscenes 💀, then I found your video after watching a few quicker recaps which I felt didn't do enough. Your video made it really easy to refresh my memory, and made it easy to find certain Waifu moments or important emotional beats I wanted to watch the cutscenes for. So yeah huge help actually.
@@jacquelinechong6880 there were a few longer cut scenes where he had long conversations. One that leads into the intro to aerith in the original and another later in the game, its assumed hes speaking with sephiroth/genova cells though.
Great game, loved it! Time to replay on hard now! Few things to note about this video though: 1. After Jenova is defeated, Sephiroth picks up Jenova from the floor, not Marco. 2. Barret was stabbed and would have died, but a Whisper revives him as (quoting Red XIII) "This death was not the one ordained for you by fate" 3. Tseng has no response because it appears that he cannot see them.
Obviously he had never played the original game and couldn't see that barret did die but was revived by the whispers because it wasn't what fate ordained , as barret never died in the original

Can confirm! I got aerith for my gameplay! I believe it depends on a few actions you do prior? Like if I am correct, based on the walk-through I read, it said that for example who you go to help after ending up in the sewers it gives you who is in the dream. Not sure how barret ends up. I think if you are picking less romantic choices per se, to Tifa or aerith?
@@annadziekonska7366 I think that - like in the original _FFVII_ - there's a few points where choices you make can determine what dream you get, and who joins you in the final battle.

“Her” refers to the planet, not Aerith. The Japanese version explained plainly how lives cycle/loop in the planet, somehow the English version made the last chapter overly convoluted....
This as such a well put together video. I finally finished the game, and while I understand some people have problems with the ending, let's just see where it goes. I have to say, my favorite part of the game is Chapter 8 when you meet up with Aerith again, walking on top of the building. So much great character development! Thanks again!
where has your channel been my entire youtube life?! You do a amazing job of really getting the "meat and potatos" of these massively complex games explained. Its hard to describe Final Fantasy(or any complex rpg) plots to people without sounding like a ranting lunatic. you loose people really quick and they do what i like to call "the batman" which is when you start explaining why its so good and they in about 2 minutes somehow disappear when you blink or turn your head for a second. You sir are very good at this craft...... explaining these games, not the batman trick....
It seems clear to me that your playthrough had you playing favorites with Tifa! As the scene in chapter 14 can be different depending on story choices. Also affects the order that they join in the final battle!
I am replaying Remake and discovered your video so my bf can understand the plot while I play. We now have watched several of your videos an can I say thank you for keeping to the point, discussing the plots as a whole in order, and being very thorough without side tracking. Love the videos. Keep it up.
Hopefully they'll continue to make more games and movies with the original ff7 gang! Bring back Genesis, Kadaj, Zack Square Enix!! Also want to see more of Vincent Valentine.

Thank you so much for this. As a child I played this played this part of the game a million times and only recently got a PS5 and really couldn’t drag myself through it, even as a remake. Now I’m watching recap videos waiting for the game at midnight! Lol. Work is going to be tough tomorrow!
Played the game straight 30 hrs no sleep hahah. Replaying to get platinum trophy now. Can’t wait what happens next. I think they want to change up the story a bit to shock us in a different way in the next game. Nothing wrong with the original but it won’t feel the same knowing what already happened. But who knows if they actually will change it up or keep it similar. Ending wasn’t the best execution though. I take the game for what it is. Loved getting all the characters more fleshed out and exploring midgar. Also for people who have not played the game, try it for yourself. Everyone have their own opinions.
May be next porject ff7 will release on ps5 and ps4 with some upgraded visual and story up to advent children and more story chapter after advent children

Best recap hands down, watching this before FF7 REBIRTH. I played this game 2 years ago and count it as one of my all time favorites. The story, the immersion, the attachment to the characters, the world building, the music, the gameplay, the visuals... all amazing
@@GonGonRe and so is aerith, hence the ghosts preserving the timeline, from both aeriths meddling, and sephiroths. In RM both Aerith and Sephiroth are from another timeline, thus we have the memories that keep being dumped into the other characters minds. Memories of meteor, aeriths death.. ect.

Maybe aerith is just reading the memory's from the whispers. The whispers are also spirits from the future. Maybe the spirit from future aerith talks to her past self. But I don't think that the living aerith came from the future. Cause there was no living aerith. Did you have some more details from the books?

I originally played final Fantasy 7 on the PC. I did have a strategy guide with me so I could find all the different secrets and had the strategies on how to beat the various weapons. I got my black and my nights of the round materia

Barett actually died but since whispers keep the fate steady (fate being the plot of the original game, where barett didn't die there), hence the whisper brought him back to life

This conclusion make me think how epic this story and game is! I had so much fun playing it, one of the best PS4 experiences for suite! Cannot wait for the next part!

This video should not be called "the story explained"; it should be called a cutscene recap. Nothing in here discusses the real purpose of the whispers or analyzes the differences between the original game and the remake, nor does it "explain" anything.
After 55 hours in the game i can tell they put a lot of work in it. I don't know how the events in the next part will play out and to tell the truth i'm a little bit frightened, because once you introduce a multy universe kind of thing, you need to be a damn good story writter in order to make it work and maintain a coherent narrative, otherwise your story becomes a mess that noone can understand. I also don't know how the pre-existing story we all know and the old characters, yet to be seen in the remake (Cid, Vincent etc) will fit in this new line of events but i hope SE has a plan. Apart from the story, this game had the best battle system ever to be seen in a modern FF game. It was perfectly balanced, strategic, challenging and deep enough but not tiring. I'd be absolutely satisfied even if they will not add anything else in the next parts in terms of battle. You have different weapons in order to customise each character according to your liking, lots of materia to use and combine, weapon upgrades, skill proficiency, staggering system and summons, all in perfect harmony. Anything more will ruin the balance and make it tiring. This battle system had a Final Fantasy identity that fits as the evolution of the old turn-based system. Trully loved it.

If you watch the end of FF7 you'll see Aeris praying after holy and the lifestream reach meteor. This coupled with what has transpired in the remake UNDOUBTABLY tell me that the planet decided to reverse time, and seeing as Aerith is the only person capable of communicating with the planet, she should be privy to this knowledge, and the knowledge of the party. The whispers I think are the planets way of steering everybody towards a more productive conclusion, one that doesn't result in the total annihilation of the planet
i've watched this, i've watched the original game movie, i've watched the remake movie. i still do not understand a ton of stuff. it feels so broken, so out of place... and nonsensical. for a game that is praised for its well made narrative, i honestly cannot make heads and tails out of it O_O
The way I took it was that when Cloud and group defeated the Destiny Harbinger, it not only destroyed all the present whispers, but also the past whispers too, which allowed Zack to survive that fight. But I don't know honestly.
I know your busy but I was hoping you could explain the ending? If aerith does not get murdered my sephiroth in this game how does it tie in with the original game? Is it not supposed to? Is it a deferent time line?
So they arrive in a timeline where zack did not get killed by shinra and now they have a chance to meet soo hopefully will get a aerith and zack reunion
You mentioned pointless things like “Cloud and Tifa gaze up at the stars” and “Cloud blocks the bullets” and “Rufus flips his coins” but you completely skip over the BEST part of the game (Dancing Cloud)????
This is the first final fantasy I’ve ever played . I loved it , but god damn I’m confused . I’d really like to get into this series but like geez it’s like trying to get into the marvel universe without knowing a single thing about it
Not bad but you left a few key details out (possibly purposefully im not sure) such as, bits in the convo between cloud and Sephiroth at the end that allude to Sephiroth not being able to kill Cloud and vice verse "yet" , that leads into the "Lets defy destiny together" proposition. Theres a few other implied and foreshadowing stuff you skipped over, but again it may have been done on purpose to preserve possible watchers "spoilers" though with a video like this it should come with the territory.
Man, I just finished this game. Great game, amazing gameplay and incredible visuals. But holy shit. The last 3 hours were an absolute fever dream of stuff that just happened randomly for no reason.
For once this is a FF game i beat before watching this video and man it was incredible. I will mention this, i think Yuffie will be a meaningful character in part 2 seeing how Jessie, biggs and wedge were in this game (not one of these 4 was mentioned in his FF7 explained video)

I don’t think that was Marco, Sephiroth picked up. It was Jenovas body from Hojos lab. Marco took on Jenova Dream Weavers state and died after the fight.
Did pretty good up till the end only the person *sephiroth* picks up isnt marko its jenova wrapped in robes...... in fact this version of sephiroth is marko a jenova clone.....
an old story that is unknown now too. So many questions, do we have a new timeline or an alternate reality the gang will never cross? Too bad these questions wont be answered. Still was a fun game though, but to demand more is to wonder if destiny will that kind.
i feel like this is going to be a different final fantasy 7. after they crossed before fighting the whispers, they did mention this is the crossroads. and when they did and killed each of the 3 bosses. cloud kept seeing the future that never happened yet and he remembers. after that, zack survived. they altered the future after they crossed that path. i think zack will be alive in the 2nd part. when they return to midgae somewhere theyll meet but zack wont know the alternate universe... i think
I remember playing the original in JP, unable to read anything. Over time I picked up enough to figure out the menu and combat system. FF7 and FFT were among my most played games back in the 90s, despite never fully understanding the story. While I wait for PC release on remake, I watch videos. So, thank you for this story summary. EDIT: At the time I didn't know English, and JP games took up to two years to release in PAL versions, if they even did. I decided to not wait for something that may or may not release in Europe. That is why I played them all in JP.
“Jenova was taken by Sephiroth”? Whatahell, in the original game the real Sephiroth’s first appearance was when Cloud gave him the black materia. Everything before it was jenova impersonating him. Remake my ass.
Not really, Sephiroth really took Jenova from the Shinra building, and appeared in some other moments, as in the Ship from Junon to Costa del Sol, but just in flashs, in this remake, we got un overdose of Sephiroth anyway.
Renato Pinheiro he is indeed, but he have this spirit form that the player can see in some moments during the fame, even when we Cloud gave him the meteor materia it was this spirit form. I’m pretty sure about it. There is that Midgar Zolom killed by Sephiroth too, in fact we are actively following Sephiroth’s steps when we go to Junon, Gold Saucer and all the first cd, even various moments where talking with NPCs that hints about a man in a black cape. The difference is that we don’t see him near as much as in the remake, but his actions influence much of the plot

Yup, I've got Aerith on Cloud's dream and in the end Aerith saves Cloud from the rubble.

@@GonGonRe and so is aerith, hence the ghosts preserving the timeline, from both aeriths meddling, and sephiroths. In RM both Aerith and Sephiroth are from another timeline, thus we have the memories that keep being dumped into the other characters minds. Memories of meteor, aeriths death.. ect.
@@crisnmaryfam7344 possible but where is the aerith from this timeline? The sephiroth from the future is a spirit that connect himself to cloud, so he can se some future events. Maybe aerith is just reading the memory's from the whispers. The whispers are also spirits from the future. Maybe the spirit from future aerith talks to her past self. But I don't think that the living aerith came from the future. Cause there was no living aerith. Did you have some more details from the books?

I originally played final Fantasy 7 on the PC. I did have a strategy guide with me so I could find all the different secrets and had the strategies on how to beat the various weapons. I got my black and my nights of the round materia
Great video, always such a pleasure to hear you narrate the story. The ending of the game left me so confused. I think they will make major changes in the plot going forward. Probably so that they wont have to remake so much content that was in the original game.
Barett actually died but since whispers keep the fate steady (fate being the plot of the original game, where barett didn't die there), hence the whisper brought him back to life

Basically, yeah. He doesn't want to just retread the entire plot, and honestly, this was a pretty okay way of telling everybody he's not going to do that while explaining it in-universe at the same time.

This video should not be called "the story explained"; it should be called a cutscene recap. Nothing in here discusses the real purpose of the whispers or analyzes the differences between the original game and the remake, nor does it "explain" anything.

After 55 hours in the game i can tell they put a lot of work in it. I don't know how the events in the next part will play out and to tell the truth i'm a little bit frightened, because once you introduce a multy universe kind of thing, you need to be a damn good story writter in order to make it work and maintain a coherent narrative, otherwise your story becomes a mess that noone can understand. I also don't know how the pre-existing story we all know and the old characters, yet to be seen in the remake (Cid, Vincent etc) will fit in this new line of events but i hope SE has a plan. Apart from the story, this game had the best battle system ever to be seen in a modern FF game. It was perfectly balanced, strategic, challenging and deep enough but not tiring. I'd be absolutely satisfied even if they will not add anything else in the next parts in terms of battle. You have different weapons in order to customise each character according to your liking, lots of materia to use and combine, weapon upgrades, skill proficiency, staggering system and summons, all in perfect harmony. Anything more will ruin the balance and make it tiring. This battle system had a Final Fantasy identity that fits as the evolution of the old turn-based system. Trully loved it.

If you watch the end of FF7 you'll see Aeris praying after holy and the lifestream reach meteor.
This coupled with what has transpired in the remake UNDOUBTABLY tell me that the planet decided to reverse time, and seeing as Aerith is the only person capable of communicating with the planet, she should be privy to this knowledge, and the knowledge of the party.
The whispers I think are the planets way of steering everybody towards a more productive conclusion, one that doesn't result in the total annihilation of the planet

i've watched this, i've watched the original game movie, i've watched the remake movie. i still do not understand a ton of stuff. it feels so broken, so out of place... and nonsensical. for a game that is praised for its well made narrative, i honestly cannot make heads and tails out of it O_O

Can anyone tell me why the whisper at Zack's scene blow up? Thats scene make me confused... and why all the whispers there?
A lot of us are still asking questions! Perhaps they wanted it that way until the next one comes out?
The way I took it was that when Cloud and group defeated the Destiny Harbinger, it not only destroyed all the present whispers, but also the past whispers too, which allowed Zack to survive that fight.
But I don't know honestly.

I know your busy but I was hoping you could explain the ending? If aerith does not get murdered my sephiroth in this game how does it tie in with the original game? Is it not supposed to? Is it a deferent time line?

Not bad but you left a few key details out (possibly purposefully im not sure) such as, bits in the convo between cloud and Sephiroth at the end that allude to Sephiroth not being able to kill Cloud and vice verse "yet" , that leads into the "Lets defy destiny together" proposition. Theres a few other implied and foreshadowing stuff you skipped over, but again it may have been done on purpose to preserve possible watchers "spoilers" though with a video like this it should come with the territory.

Man, I just finished this game. Great game, amazing gameplay and incredible visuals. But holy shit. The last 3 hours were an absolute fever dream of stuff that just happened randomly for no reason.
I just can't fucking wait for the next part.
For once this is a FF game i beat before watching this video and man it was incredible.
I will mention this, i think Yuffie will be a meaningful character in part 2 seeing how Jessie, biggs and wedge were in this game (not one of these 4 was mentioned in his FF7 explained video)

I don’t think that was Marco, Sephiroth picked up. It was Jenovas body from Hojos lab. Marco took on Jenova Dream Weavers state and died after the fight.

an old story that is unknown now too. So many questions, do we have a new timeline or an alternate reality the gang will never cross? Too bad these questions wont be answered. Still was a fun game though, but to demand more is to wonder if destiny will that kind.
i feel like this is going to be a different final fantasy 7. after they crossed before fighting the whispers, they did mention this is the crossroads. and when they did and killed each of the 3 bosses. cloud kept seeing the future that never happened yet and he remembers. after that, zack survived. they altered the future after they crossed that path. i think zack will be alive in the 2nd part. when they return to midgae somewhere theyll meet but zack wont know the alternate universe... i think
I remember playing the original in JP, unable to read anything. Over time I picked up enough to figure out the menu and combat system. FF7 and FFT were among my most played games back in the 90s, despite never fully understanding the story.
While I wait for PC release on remake, I watch videos. So, thank you for this story summary.
EDIT: At the time I didn't know English, and JP games took up to two years to release in PAL versions, if they even did. I decided to not wait for something that may or may not release in Europe. That is why I played them all in JP.

Whatahell, in the original game the real Sephiroth’s first appearance was when Cloud gave him the black materia. Everything before it was jenova impersonating him. Remake my ass.
Not really, Sephiroth really took Jenova from the Shinra building, and appeared in some other moments, as in the Ship from Junon to Costa del Sol, but just in flashs, in this remake, we got un overdose of Sephiroth anyway.

Renato Pinheiro he is indeed, but he have this spirit form that the player can see in some moments during the fame, even when we Cloud gave him the meteor materia it was this spirit form.

There is that Midgar Zolom killed by Sephiroth too, in fact we are actively following Sephiroth’s steps when we go to Junon, Gold Saucer and all the first cd, even various moments where talking with NPCs that hints about a man in a black cape.
The difference is that we don’t see him near as much as in the remake, but his actions influence much of the plot
