thank you for watching!! and thank you for backing me on patreon!!
if you’re *not* backing me on patreon and you don’t want to, that’s ok. however if you WOULD like to, you can do that at patreon.com/actionbutton
these videos are hard to make, and much as i TRY to develop a consistent template, i can’t help stylistically challenging myself every time. so your support goes toward my eventually hiring a couple of editors to keep my nightmares from killing me.
    thanks again!!

I really hope Tim doesn't read comments on his older videos because what I'm about to type is borderline psychopathic behavior. A brief explanation: I watched this video on release, never having played a Final Fantasy in my life OR watching any videos about it. The franchise never interested me, but I love Tim's writing - so here I am. I liked the video! In March 2021, PS4 announced FF7 Remake would be free for PS+ Users. I figured I'd dip my toe into the franchise. I have since allowed it to DEVOUR me for the last 3 weeks. I beat the main story, came back, and watched this video in it's entirety for a 2nd time. I have now beat the game on hard mode, gotten every single trophy, attained the platinum, admit it's probably my favorite game of All-Time during the 8th generation of consoles - and am now watching it for a 3rd time. There are so many small tidbits that I appreciate each time upon re-watching that I want to make a meticulously detailed timestamp list so I can easily jump to those parts of video on a whim.
2:45 - Tim OBLITERATES an old paycheck man
10:48 - Prevailing despite unfathomable circumstances
18:10 - The girl Tim liked was a hater
20:12 - The man who waited 12 hours in line for Final Fantasy 12 wanted a Final Fantasy 7 remake - the Philosophical Nightmare was born
    24:50 - "He's got toasters for hands"
27:00 - Creative desperation led to Final Fantasy as a series, always fresh, more like a fashion brand than a film franchise
30:20 - Elevator pitch-able situation, FF13 requires burj khalifa elevator breaking down twice to explain it lmao
35:38 - Small gradual changes to post-battle dialogue amongst Cloud and Barret
41:00 - Who wants to be good at working alone?
42:43 - "Looks like you guys were having fun up there"
45:50 - I absolutely adored and loved the transitions to behind Cloud's back after every scene as well, so wonderfully done
    51:48 - Tseng
    53:12 - Chocobo Sam hahaha
    55:25 - I can't think of a story I loved where I didn't love the characters. Excellent point.
    57:21 - LMAO
58:15 - "Can we STOP talking about how big her breasts are and START talking about how small her materia slots are"
59:09 - You can get a prude to laugh at a curse by utilizing them with extreme restraint
1:04:20 - Cloud stop ruining the food court please
1:05:00 - Why do people in the slums refer to their homes as the slums?
1:10:43 - Tim single-handedly smites every myth about the length of Midgar in the original FF7
1:23:00 - Anyone who asks for a "Vertical Slice" is an idiot who doesn't understand how cakes are baked.
1:27:54 - A total of 16 minutes and 14 seconds climbing ladders, only NARCS slide down ladders
1:38:43 - I too loved getting lost in Chapter #6, super fun and so distinct from the previous 2 chapters
1:42:56 - I also never saw Aerith get mad at you if you fail all the dance sequences. I haven't even looked it on up YT. What freak would for completions sake?
    1:43:21 - "Tifa's wet flesh"
1:50:05 - Are you even reading this?
1:51:00 - I guarantee my time searching for trinkets must have been closer to an hour than 46 minutes. So many areas where chests SHOULD have been placed.
    1:51:32 - Tifa's Baby Uncharted Segment
1:52:35 - TIFA AND AERITH ZOOMIN'
2:00:09 - RIP Secret of Mana
2:08:02 - I want to know more about the 94% discovery
2:13:19 - I love how needlessly honest Tim is
2:17:15 - PLEASE DEVELOPERS LISTEN TO HIM, I wasted MP on a Hard Mode run so often just to get rid of that painful red filter that still persists OUTSIDE of combat
    2:22:51 - LMAO
2:27:00 - This is also something I argue with myself about. I loved playing FF7 again and knowing what to say to Don Corneo before the options were stripped from you. But the discovery of having that happen to you was also a blast?
2:30:22 - One of the greatest observations in the entire video
    2:30:58 - LMAO
    2:41:15 - Another outstanding observation
    2:44:56 - :(
2:53:20 - An amazing anecdote about how The Leftovers and Doctor Who spoiled the twist of the FF7 Remake
2:55:08 - I have played this statement back about 20 times. I still don't understand what Tim is saying. I'm an idiot.
2:56:05 - Take on the ending. We got here, not by any soul-searching but just... getting here.
3:01:51 - "GLAD WE NO LONGER HAVE A RAT PROBLEM"
I love this video. I have devoured it. Thank you, Tim.

@@Draconilian FF16 side quest design feels so baffling after FF7R. The quests in FF7R aren't great either, but at least there's a concise amount of them, and you get something meaningful in terms of story by doing all of them. FF16 just vomits sidequests, each of them being textbook JRPG pace-breaking faffing about; and there's so many of them!
