Elvis was devestated by the assassinations of Dr. Martin Luther King JR. And Bobby Kennedy. This song was his statement and message for hope and unity..for peace. He did it beautifully. I have just come across your channel and had to subscribe. I love the way that you welcome everyone in with positivity and I love hearing your thoughts in these songs. The fact that Elvis is reaching a new generation speaks to his legacy. No matter how many times that I hear this song it always gives me chills.
No fancy outfit in this video elvis was given his best performance all dressed in white white suit and people's we need to learn and understand and lesson to the word"s of this beautiful song means because we are all human beings and we need to share this world together in peace ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Elvis recorded exactly 769 songs ...... Did 31 Movies ...... Did two documentaries ....... And over 1100 Concerts in the Seventies alone ...... God know how many he did in the 50's and 60's ...... And did three Concerts in Canada in 1957 ..... Yes you can say the Elvis rabbit hole runs very deep ...... And Elvis loved his fans ...... And loved God ...... What more could on man give to the world .......
Elvis was born in 1935. World war 2 from 1940-1944 Elvis first performed in 1955 Elvis was drafted into the army 1958-1960 Elvis did movies 1960-1966 Elvis did a tv show called the 1968 comeback special. ( he hadn’t performed live infront of an audience in 8 years. This is the show to do a deep dive into his music.) And 1970 is when he started doing his Las Vegas residency. I believe my timeline is accurate in a ballpark schedule. Have a blast learning about this man, his talent and charisma.
Wow 😮 he done a lot in such a short time. That’s success at its fines. I’ve never heard anyone speak of him being in the army until this channel. I never knew he had a tv show. Mind blowing!
Worlwar 2 was 1939 - 1945. Elvis first performered in 1954 by touring thru the south. Elvis did movies from 1956 - 1969 plus 1970 and 1972 live concert documentary movies. Elvis started his live concerts in Vegas in 1969 till 1976. Inbetween he gave countless concerts on tour until June, 26th 1977, his last show. In total Elvis gave more than 1.100 concerts from 1969 - 1977.
On July 30, 1954 Elvis gave his first public concert at the Levitt Shell amphitheater in Memphis; dates for WW 11, his first movie, live concerts are wrong.
@@Aquarius69 THANKS! so many people comment w-so much wrong info on every aspect of his life; Btw, re:info on amount of concerts varies between 1,050 - 1,685 -- only a small handful of people would really know the exact amount.
Makes me emotional every single time. I love this man and his beautiful soul. Glad your daughter is feeling better. Continuing healing prayers 🙏 pretty sure this is related to the speech by Martin Luther King

"The song was not only inspired by MLK but by Robert Kennedy's assassination also -- it was after Kennedy's assassination that Elvis & producer/director Steve Binder had a long sit-down discussion, & Binder asked Walter Earl Brown to compose a song to reflect what had taken place (based on MLK's speech). Parker wanted a Christmas song (of course) but after Elvis looked at the song sheet he told Parker i want to give it a shot." The red tie was for the blood shed in Vietnam. Good idea to continue watching him to find out what he was capable of, what his voice was able to (naturally) do, the power & emotion that came from his soul & his gut, all the different types of songs that he sang. Age 33 here.

Elvis is one of the most recognized & famous people in music history, & no doubt, one of the most talented, however his heart & love for humanity, is his true legacy 💗💜 I wish with every fiber of my being, that his dream would come true right now!!! 💗💜 RIP **Martin Luther King** RIP **Robert Kennedy** RIP **Elvis Presley** 💗💜 3 amazing men, who tried to change the world for the better, in their own unique ways, & paid the ultimate price💗 ****Luv your reaction **** 💗
Best reaction I’ve seen to this song. Thank you. This song was commissioned by Elvis and written by the incomparable Earl Brown to honor both RFK and MLK. Ive literally heard this song 1,000 times but every time I am moved almost to tears. Keep up the good work reacting to this kind of meaningful music.
when elvis recorded this song, they chased everyone out of the studio, elvis had the lights turned off ,he sang his heart out, when they turned the lights on elvis was laying on the floor in the fetal position.stated he'll never record another song unless he feels it like he felt this song.
Thank u! For your positivity and wanting your channel to be good vibes only. Much respect! There's alot of horrible things said about this beautiful man which are false rumors. We need more respect and kindness in the world. So.... thank u!! Thank you for the kind words Carrie. And you're welcome. I just heard not too long ago about some thing pertaining to Elvis. I don't know much about him but I can say to I love the music that he presented to the world. I'll be coming with more videos this week. I have most of those on the list and will add the ones that I don't have Thank you again.
He fought his management and the Network to sing this song to End his comeback special. They wanted a Christmas song because it was safer and less controversial.
The guys producing the '68 Special saw and heard how Elvis felt about everything going on that year. Especially the assassination of MLK and then Robert Kennedy was assassinated during taping of the show. Elvis made a comment that someone once told him if you don't know how to say something then sing it. Elvis wasn't a songwriter so one of the producer/directors talked toa couple of the guys in the show who knew Elvis and his views about things. This song was the result. Col. Parker was insisting on ending the show with a Christmas song (mainly because of advertising backers) and Elvis came out with this song instead. The 2 performances of this song that he did (one in black leather & this one) are the only times Elvis *ever* performed this song live.
ELVIS WAS DOING HIS 68 SPECIAL IT WAS TAPED STARTING IN JUNE AND ENDED DEC. IN THE BEGINNING OF It M.L.K. WAS KILLED HE WAS VERY UPSET WENT IN A ROOM SAT BY HIMSELF AND HIM AND HIS WRITERS WROTE THIS SONG. THEN BEFORE THEY GOT DONE ROBERT KENNEDY WAS KILLED. OUT OF RESPECT HE PUT THIS SUIT ON TO DO A SEPERATE RECORDING OUT OF RESPECT. 💜💜💜
We are all the same because we all bleed the same color of blood and we all have the same FATHER THAT IS JESUS CHRIST IS ARE LORD AND SAVIOR AND GOD BLESS
"IF I CAN DREAM" Was Elvis's Tribute to MLK after his Assasination in Memphis Tennessee where Elvis Lived, it was Based on the message of MLK's I Have Dream Speech. It was also Dedicated to Robert Kennedy who was Assasinated that same year. This was a Troubled time in America, with the Civil Rights Movement, the Vietnam War and unrest in the streets and Elvis felt the need to make a Statement, his Paster once told him, if something is to Dangerous to say, Sing !! So after sharing his feelings with song writer Earl Brown, If I Can Dream was written as the closeing song of Elvis's 68 Comeback Special. The reason Elvis was making a Comeback, was because after he returned from his 2 year Service in Germany while in the Army He then took an 8 year break from Live Preformances while he filmed 31 Motion Pictures and then he filmed 2 Concert Documentaries after his return to the Stage. So he never really took a break.
That’s deep. Before I covered (Reacted) this song I had others give a break down of what you’re saying as well. Besides the taking a break portion. It does sound like he continue in his course when it seemed he when on hiatus.

Talking about the movie have to say I didn’t like it , maybe it was the style it was done in and I found Tom hanks narrating through it so irritating . I’m a loyal Elvis fan but wasn’t impressed . I was expecting something different, maybe I should watch it again .
This was after MLK assassination and Bobby Kennedy he was deep in thought and exhausted how the world was... this was written for him to perform and deliver a message in hopes of people reacting. He was a music genius and stayed out of politics. He was a veteran and when asked about politics he said I'd rather keep my opinion to myself. I'd like to see your reaction to My way Unchained melody Glory glory In the ghetto
May I recommend the Elvis songs "just because" early Elvis. "Long black limousine" middle Elvis. "Moody Blue" late Elvis. It will show the diversety in style and voice. Elvis was amazing !!
Remember that this was in the late 60 s racism and segregation was the norm. No white singer had the guts to have a black choir, because they were treated badly. Elvis would not perform unless his choir was treated with respect, he was the King!
So glad young people r getting into the greatest performer of all time. This song is a tribute to Dr. MLK. He cried after he sang this song. He loved everybody regardless of race. A gift of God to us all who love him so much!!!!!
if you want to know more about this man's soul listen to his gospel he put his heart and soul into he won for Grammy awards in his career all for his gosoel
My favorite Elvis song is: "American Trilogy" 1973 in Hawaii. Michael Jackson was married to Elvis's daughter in the 90's. Her name is Lisa Marie Presley.
Hey Jay, great reaction to Elvis,, If I can Dream was a tribute to MLK and JFK , MLK was from Memphis where ELVIS lived, he believed that you should always treat others the way you want to be treated, I've asked before, but please react to Elvis singing Walk a mile in my shoes, beautiful message in that song as well,, You know that ELVIS is from the Ghetto, born in a shotgun house, no electricity or running water, and he grew up with all the young and older black people in the neighborhood, he never forgot where he came from and that's just One of thei Billion if reasons ELVIS is still just as popular now as he was 45yrs ago, he has sold more records than any other artists in history, and the day he left this world, broke the record for the most flowers ever sold in America, ELVIS will live forever in so many ways, he should be taught in school so all the younger generation can discover the Greatest showman of all time, who changed the world in so many ways. Thank you and so glad your daughter is feeling better. Bye the way, love your background. TCB 1935🕺🕺🕺🕺⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡👑👑👑👑👃👃🎵🎵

If I Can Dream was an appropriate song for the finale of the show, as it was Elvis’ appeal for peace and understanding. Jay I'm loving your reaction and I think you would enjoy learning more about Elvis personally by reacting to Elvis and The Black Community the Echo Will Never Die👍
Thank you. Yeah, I’m deed that is true. Since music never dies. I treat it the same as education. I’m learning every time I connect with you guys about individuals who came before my generation. 🙏🏾
Please watch the clip of Trouble from the movie King Creole, then watch the movie. That is my favorite Elvis song as well as movie. He really was a good actor, but because of Tom Parker, he never could achieve all of his goals.
This is my first time hearing any of your reactions, just found you. I appreciated your listening and telling your thoughts. I was a kid when Elvis started out and I love seeing much younger people's reactions to all music from your parents and grandparents day. It's fun seeing the surprised looks on their faces. I subscribed and looking forward to more. Hope your baby girl gets better. They are everything.❤🧸🧸
You have no idea how deep he was. In the Ghetto you would love. He sang over 800 songs so passionately and full of soul. He makes you feel what he feels. His Gospel music in which he won Grammys for are so inspirational. This was about ML K after his assassination, Elvis was so devastated about it. He truly was a wonderful man. People don’t know him but once they do, he’s hard to forget. ❤😊
First of all I want to say you have a freaking cool house wow!! That's what's up LOL.. the song was for MLK he was good friends with him he sang this song after he was assassinated dedicated to him they told him if he sang this song in1969 it would be career suicide he didn't care he said I'm singing it God bless him! You can truly hear the pain in his voice!
A bit of info as you continue watching Elvis: he had a lung condition similar to asthma & used an inhaler (i don't know exactly when this began) but a bit of breathing difficulty can be detected at his outdoor interview in Hawaii in '73 & at his press conference in '70 -- so as the years went by it is some sort of miracle that he was able to go on w-that voice until the very end -- especially on "Unchained Melody" in '77 - approx. 6 weeks before he died. Thank you very much.
I love you, and God this man can sing like no one before or after, while God bless you and I wish you all the luck in the world! Sincerely ~ Christopher Tyler LOVE IS ALL THAT MATTERS!!! P.S. I'm a republican just to let people know that the divisions falsely created by the media must stop and we love everyone!
Your introduction too your show is so AWESOME and the vibes you wish on humanity are just beautiful plus your words are so very very kind. Thank you for this time because i enjoyed it very much. I hope it is ok that I am white watching your show you are just a beautiful person.
I just found your channel and I have to say how much I am enjoying your vibe. It is great! I am a 62 year old grandma who still loves all music. It makes me so happy to know that your generation is discovering the music of our lives! The stories they tell will entertain for years and years ahead, Thank you so much for sharing your love of music with us!
You're welcome shari. Yes, music is a happy place individually and collectively. So many vibes are generated through music which brings people together in a powerful way. Thank you for recognizing my content/channel. Also, thank you for your kind words. I appreciate your feedback.
Hey sweetheart, I wish you would react to Elvis singing Loving Arms,, you will love it, thanks for reacting to my main man Elvis, TCB 1935🕺🕺🕺⚡⚡⚡⚡🎵🎵🎵🎵👃👃👃👃👃👑👑👑👑
It's very nice to see and hear a person that tryes to be openminded, that is very rare today, I also want to point out, that you are right we all are people and we all need to care for one and other no matter where you are from, that is what makes the world work... Did I hear wrong, is your daugther sick, if so I hope that she is doing better!!
Hen everyone was told to stay out of the politics and just perform Elvis stood up sang his heart and soul out. Then he went backstage and collapsed and cried for quite a while until he passed out
Does anyone one know this wad written in honor of Martin Luther King JR. After he was assassinated? It means alot more if you realise that to me anyway.
This song was released in 1968, after the killings of Robert Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the same year. The title of the song refers to the famous MLK’s ‘I have a dream’ speech.
@@inekebaalman3320 To add to this, Elvis was friends with both of those men. He also had his manager's and others urging him to end his special with a Christmas song but he refused and said this song was what he was ending it with. And to anyone listening to this saying he may have given it his all singing this, word is he went back stage to his dressing room and cried in the fetal position for a while after this i don't know if that is the truth, but just what I've seen out there.
Great reaction. He's got so many amazing songs and they're all different and he covered a lot of different years. But I would say another great one that is a good entry point on Elvis is his live in Vegas version of in the ghetto. He's wearing his white jumpsuit. The sweet inspirations, one of his two backing choirs were in super fine form. They all were. He always had the best musicians. And it's a really cool song.
This is his most heartfelt and passionate performance ever. This song was written for him to sing in tribute to Dr. King after his assassination.
Elvis sang this song as a tribute to MLK and Robert Kennedy. This was the time of segregation and Elvis had to spread a positive vibe.
No fancy outfit in this video elvis was given his best performance all dressed in white white suit and people's we need to learn and understand and lesson to the word"s of this beautiful song means because we are all human beings and we need to share this world together in peace ❤❤❤❤❤❤
And on the 8th day God created Elvis
lol oh wow. 😂
Elvis is the king and still the king next 1000 year, don't think any other artists will be that, maybe Queen
What more could on man give to the world .......
back bone.
Elvis was born in 1935.
World war 2 from 1940-1944
Elvis first performed in 1955
Elvis was drafted into the army 1958-1960
Elvis did movies 1960-1966
Elvis did a tv show called the 1968 comeback special. ( he hadn’t performed live infront of an audience in 8 years. This is the show to do a deep dive into his music.)
And 1970 is when he started doing his Las Vegas residency.
Thank you. Others from that time have informed me of this song and it’s reason prior to me giving my reaction.
@@infinitejaytv I believe that all race come together one and live in harmony, but the real truth is that our freedom is being taken away from us and it cause of Nancy Pelosi....
He dedicated this song to Martin Luther King when he died.
We can make Elvis and Martins dreams come true¿!!!!! Hater's get over your-selves?!!!!! Believe in a better world!!!!!!

Part of Martin Luther Kings speech in these lyrics .❤️
This was his tribute to MLK
Elvis is one of the most recognized & famous people in music history, & no doubt, one of the most talented, however his heart & love for humanity, is his true legacy 💗💜 I wish with every fiber of my being, that his dream would come true right now!!! 💗💜 RIP **Martin Luther King** RIP **Robert Kennedy** RIP **Elvis Presley** 💗💜 3 amazing men, who tried to change the world for the better, in their own unique ways, & paid the ultimate price💗 ****Luv your reaction **** 💗
I think the new Elvis movie was released at a time the world needed this song and brought it to a lot of listeners that needed the message it has.
Really? What's the name of this movie? Maybe I could go over the trailer with you Guys/Girls
MLK was an annointed preacher. I remember when he said: " I have a dream". The sermon was full of the spirit. I felt God's spirit when MLK Said it.
This was filmed about 3 months after MLK was killed and 3 weeks after Robert Kennedy was killed.
Elvis was 33 when he performed this song.
"Elvis and the Black Community" is a good track.
when elvis recorded this song, they chased everyone out of the studio, elvis had the lights turned off ,he sang his heart out, when they turned the lights on elvis was laying on the floor in the fetal position.stated he'll never record another song unless he feels it like he felt this song.
Thank u! For your positivity and wanting your channel to be good vibes only. Much respect! There's alot of horrible things said about this beautiful man which are false rumors. We need more respect and kindness in the world. So.... thank u!!
Elvis...King of Kindness and short version of Elvis...A Generous Heart and When Elvis & Mohammed Ali met are great!

Elvis and the black community. See how a wonderful person is. In that time especially
Exactly.
WAS KILLED
HE WAS VERY UPSET WENT IN A ROOM SAT BY HIMSELF AND HIM AND HIS WRITERS WROTE THIS SONG.
THEN BEFORE THEY GOT DONE ROBERT KENNEDY
WAS KILLED.
33 he was 33 years old. It is really amazing that he did so much in a short life. Please do more ✌🎵🎶❤
"IF I CAN DREAM"
Was Elvis's Tribute to MLK after his Assasination in Memphis Tennessee where Elvis Lived, it was Based on the message of MLK's I Have Dream Speech.
Enjoying Your Reactions, Thank You!

Elvis had soul! He was and still is the greatest! I love Elvis Presley! Thank you
He's fantastic and SO good looking! The man is so natural. Hope you see his movie that came out earlier this year. ((Welcome to the World of Elvis))🥰
Talking about the movie have to say I didn’t like it , maybe it was the style it was done in and I found Tom hanks narrating through it so irritating . I’m a loyal Elvis fan but wasn’t impressed . I was expecting something different, maybe I should watch it again .
This man’s greatness will never be equaled 💕💕
This was after MLK assassination and Bobby Kennedy he was deep in thought and exhausted how the world was... this was written for him to perform and deliver a message in hopes of people reacting.
He was a music genius and stayed out of politics. He was a veteran and when asked about politics he said I'd rather keep my opinion to myself.
I'd like to see your reaction to

Elvis was in tears following this performance. So, too, were his entire backup vocalists and band.
May I recommend the Elvis songs "just because" early Elvis. "Long black limousine" middle Elvis. "Moody Blue" late Elvis. It will show the diversety in style and voice. Elvis was amazing !!
Thank you for playing Elvis Presley love it 🙏👍❤️❤️
Remember that this was in the late 60 s racism and segregation was the norm.
One and only ELVIS the KING, forever 🥰❤❤❤
Another great performance and the message is still true after 50 years when the song was first released
Great music never dies.
My favorite Elvis song is: "American Trilogy" in Hawaii 1973. Elvis was spiritual. He believed in God. He was 33 yrs old here.
You need to see the movie "Elvis". The àctor who plays Elvis really shows that he was a human being instead of just musical icon.
Tom Hanks is in the MOVIE....NEED i say anymore
Meant to touch all of our souls
Thank you God ❤️🌎
if you want to know more about this man's soul listen to his gospel he put his heart and soul into he won for Grammy awards in his career all for his gosoel
We all need to watch that video every day……good for the soul!
JFK was the President assassinated in '63 in Dallas -- this was in reference to RFK - Robert Kennedy
@@carolhayar3037 Hi, I included JFK as well,, it's in my message very clear, I am a huge Elvis fan and I don't claim to know everything, but I believe what I wrote is Fact. TCB 1935🕺🕺🕺⚡⚡⚡👑👑👑👑🎵🎵🎵🎵👃👃👃👃👃
IT was NOT a tribute to MLK ..... OR TO ANY ONE SUCH LEADER...... NOR WERE THERE DIRECT QUOTES FROM MLK SPEECH ..... But to all the things listed below ...... Elvis wanted to reach the people with hope for the future after all the horror of this scary decade ..... So Elvis recorded and sang ..... If I can dream not as a tribute to one or another ..... Designer Bill Belew created the wardrobe for the ELVIS'S special ..... And he had Elvis wearing neckerchiefs with some of his outfits. He felt the song If I Can Dream was very moving ..... For this song, Bill told Elvis he thought the white suit he had made would be more appropriate than the black leathers Elvis would wear for much of the concert. When Elvis tried it on, Bill felt there was something missing, and realized it needed a neckerchief. That evening Bill heard Walter Cronkite on the evening news speaking about all the soldiers that had died that week in the Vietnam War. The next day Bill found a dark red neckerchief for Elvis to wear with the white suit. Bill explained to Elvis about the news he had watched, and how many soldiers had died, and that this neckerchief would represent the blood of all these soldiers that had lost their lives in Vietnam. Both Bill and Elvis found this to be a very emotional subject, and didn’t want to discuss it with anyone else. If I Can Dream was an appropriate song for the finale of the show, as it was Elvis’ appeal for peace and understanding. ""ELVIS'S APPEAL"" Now there are lots of stories out there about anything you can imagine ...... Of the same thing .....Yet the story's different throughout ..... It is the same with Elvis ...... please react to elvis and the black community part 1 and 2 !
People are still finding Elvis. ⚡
I guess you could say that they are lol.
Excellent reaction. I've loved Elvis since I was 4 and I don't know everything. Ita a deep rabbit hole but fun to fall into
Thank you. Yes, it actually is fun to venture off into!
Love when people realize the King was far more than a Halloween costume.
Check out the mini documentary "Elvis and the black community". Some interesting history.
Thank you Carolyn. I’ll have to do that.
Beautiful!!
I can see that…
All hail to the king may he raine forever
And this is in 1968
Elvis was a amazing guy, he was one in a million
Agreed! 🫰🏽👌🏽
You need to watch American trilogy brilliant this was one of his great ones
First of all I want to say you have a freaking cool house wow!! That's what's up LOL.. the song was for MLK he was good friends with him he sang this song after he was assassinated dedicated to him they told him if he sang this song in1969 it would be career suicide he didn't care he said I'm singing it God bless him! You can truly hear the pain in his voice!
He loved MLK.
Way ahead of his time love going on this journey with u love younger ppl getting to no the king an why we love him so keep it up
A bit of info as you continue watching Elvis: he had a lung condition similar to asthma & used an inhaler (i don't know exactly when this began) but a bit of breathing difficulty can be detected at his outdoor interview in Hawaii in '73 & at his press conference in '70 -- so as the years went by it is some sort of miracle that he was able to go on w-that voice until the very end -- especially on "Unchained Melody" in '77 - approx. 6 weeks before he died. Thank you very much.
Thank you for that information. Amazing person with many talents.
I love you, and God this man can sing like no one before or after, while God bless you and I wish you all the luck in the world! Sincerely ~ Christopher Tyler
LOVE IS ALL THAT MATTERS!!! P.S. I'm a republican just to let people know that the divisions falsely created by the media must stop and we love everyone!

Good choice. On of those songs that get overlooked when it comes to Elvis's voice range.
A great reaction Jay, I look forward to more!👍✌

Watch Elvis presley and the black community, echo never dies
It's very nice to see and hear a person that tryes to be openminded, that is very rare today, I also want to point out, that you are right we all are people and we all need to care for one and other no matter where you are from, that is what makes the world work...

Thank you Vikii
God is good Jay I'm glad she's feeling better 🙏👍
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC REACTION MY MAN ....SIMPLY AWESOME 👌
Thank you 🙏🏾 He is.
Hen everyone was told to stay out of the politics and just perform Elvis stood up sang his heart and soul out. Then he went backstage and collapsed and cried for quite a while until he passed out
It's because he was brought in the geto with his black friends
Thank you for your reaction to this song so much.
He was 33 and he died at 42.
Great reaction. Maybe you can turn the music up a little as your voice is much louder? TY 🤙
Thanks Seales. In the nexts videos I’ll remember to do just that.
