    This man is not a result of mere genetics. God did this.
    If you want to blow your mind, listen to the following by him:
    Hurt, Rags To Riches, Forever My Darling, and Elvis Acopella.
    And PLEASE don't interrupt his singing with your comments. Wait until the end. It takes away from his unbelievable performances.

    Everything in this performance has a purpose. The song itself was written by Earl Brown, inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King’s speech I Have a Dream. The song was written with Elvis in mind & it’s a tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Mr. Brown was aware of Elvis love for Dr. King. He also knew that Elvis was devastated by the news of Dr. King’s assassination (just 9 miles away from Graceland, Elvis‘s home). The white suit was also worn to accompany the song’s dream for better days. At the time, the conflict in Vietnam was heart wrenching. In remembrance, of the lives lost during the Vietnam war. The burgundy colored scarf Elvis wore around his neck was for them.

      @@SephPlays I understand that. That was a hard time in America. I was 13 when JFK was assassinated and I dearly loved him. Then 1968, April, Martin Luther King Jr. murdered and beginning of June RFK was murdered. Elvis had a lot of respect especially for Martin Luther King Jr. and it hurt that it happened in Memphis, not so far from his home. Then we had men spilling their blood in Vietnam. I read an article that said, I think, Binder, not sure, went out and bought the red scarf to signify the blood shed weekly in Vietnam. You know that song, If I Can Dream was written rather quickly. Amazingly.

He is also my guardian angel. Graceland is my go to place when it get's to hard to live w/o my friend i go there and walk around and remember Elvis and all the beautiful times we had together. He was the only person in my life that understood me and cared about my feelings and opinions. What it comes down to is we both needed a true friend and we were that for each other. Awesome reaction. this was done live in an empty studio as the studio's punishment for him refusing to back down & sing this song in honour of dr.king & bobby kennedy..
    Elvis grew up in the church & specifically in a black church that was near his home which welcomed hiim & his mother..
    gospel music was his absolute favorite & he had the largest collection of gospel music in america at one time...
    the network was opposed to his doing this song but he had so much respect & admiration for dr. king & took inspiration from him he stood his ground & basically said no song.. no special..
    the infulence of his church upbringing is so up front in this performance ( the white suit) & he literally did take us to church with this

Almost like a pastor in his white suit and calling in the flock while his arm repeatedly goes back and forth..🙏 What you missed at the end by stopping the video a moment too soon, was his humble, ‘Thank you, good night.’. 45 years after his death, people are still calling Elvis the King of Rock'n'Roll, but he didn't like that title, he believed that the only king was God and he actually told this to his fans several times, he said: I believe that God is the only true king.
    I think that Elvis is and only the king of Rock'n roll, he is the king of music because he can sing very well in any genre, but what do you think, is he good enough to be called a music king?
    Elvis was really in my mind, the King of GOSPEL and other music, no one does it better then him, he is best known for making Rockn roll famous, so he was called The King of Rockn roll, but he never liked that people called him that.
    He repeatedly stopped fans who said that he was the king of rock'n roll, telling them:
    I'm just an entertainer and singer, God is the only true King!!
    Elvis was born in the poor parts of Tupelo Missisippi and it was mainly Afroamericans living there, at the place where Elvis family lived there only lived 3 more white familys, the rest was colored people, his family was dirtpoor until he became an artist after singing in a mainly colored peoples church during his childhood.
    Did you know that he had several friends that where Afroamericans, one of his friends where James Brown, yes THAT James Brown (The King of Soul), another artist was B.B King, yes that B.B King...
    He also was a good friend with Mohamed Ali, yes the GREATEST boxer of all time, he even had a Robe made for him, but it was to much bling on it so Ali wouldn't where it more then one time to a fight.
    He really admired Martin Luther King very much, Elvis felt that all people are equal, unfortually he never got to meet him, that would have created to much problems for both of them at that time.
    He had several medical problems, Glaucoma, sleeping, irritable bowel syndrome, things that affected his real life and made him need medication to function.
    Yes, he took medicines that today are considered to be called drugs, but at that time doctors prescribed it to him and to ordinary people, they did not know of the problems it could give people (side effects).
    He never took any so-called street drugs, but unfortunately he did not realize that those medications would be a problem for him, he thought that they where ordinary medicine because his doctor prescribed them to him and to everyone else that needed it.
    Many of his relativs died at a relatively young age, so even if he wouldn't have the medication, he might have died at about the same age.
    He could never be alone and thus himself, at that time the word superstar did not exist, so nothing could prepare him for that kind of life.
    Did you know that a big group of white poeple actually smashed his records and wanted to ban his music, just because they called it so called N... music, that is so painfun to think of, that some people actually can think like that, skincolor is just color and nothing more, when will people realise that?
    Here are some of his spirutual songs:
    Amazing Graze, How great though art, I found this version of this great song: How great thou art acapella: ua-cam.com/video/Be5y0rMBIFI/v-deo.html You'll never walk alone, Crying in the chapel, Take me home precious lord, Why me Lord (written by Kris Kristofferson), I'm not sure if it's a gospel song Help me and many more, he also made several Christmas songs, also some type of Blues songs.
    Here are some ballads and other songs:
    Turn around Look at me, Yellow rose of Texas (in a movie), Don't, You gave me a mountin, Unchained melody, My Way, Suspicius minds, In the Ghetto (written by Mac Davies), Memories (written by Mac Davies), If I can dream that is a tribute (parts of it is taken directly from the I can dream speach by MLK) to Martin Luther King JR and senator Robert Kennedy, What now my love, Walk a mile in my shoes (listen to the words in the beginning), Welcome to my world, Make The World Go Away, Let it be me, I'll Remember You, Bridge Over Troubled Water, An American Thrillergy, Hurt, Sweet Caroline, Just Pretend, What now my love, Are you lonesome tonight (laughing versin, or not), Oh Danny Boy (for you Irish people), a song that many might not know that he sung it is this one Green Green grass of home, I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry, Walk a mile in my shoes, Blue suede shoes, Hound dog, I Washed My Hands In Muddy Water, My Boy, Solitaire, well remember that he sang over 800 songs, yes most of them Covers, but that made the artists that he coverd more popular and they also got some money from it...
    There are some videos of when Elvis joking and messing up, he loved to joke around and pretend that he did not have control, but he had total control, he acctually conducted his musicans and back up choirs all the time !
    He is the only person to have 2 records gone to sell Gold and 2 to to sell Platinum since he died.
    Elvis is also in almost every genre of Music Hall of Fame (5 that I'm sure of Rock 'n' Roll, Country, Gospel, Rockabilly and Rhythm and Blues), if Gospel is a genre in Music Hall of fame, then he should be in there to, but no one else is in more then perhaps 2 genres.
    Not bad for someone who never took a single singing lesson, yes he sang in church so perhaps he learned a little there, right?
    Something else that people tend to overlook:
    He always conducts his musicans and backup singers, he never gets credit for being able to do that.
    Imagen you are a singer, you have great musicans, you have great backup singers, no Guest Artists, no Autotune, no Lipsinging and no Fireworks, now all is about your skill, could you handle that pressure?
    At the time when Elvis started, then Autotune did not exist yet and when it became availible, then he still did not use it, he did not need to, he always sang so that you could hear every word that he sang, the Fans always felt that he sang to just you !
    That is what Elvis did in over 1600 concerts (during his 24 years as an artist), despite having problems with his health, like his Glaucoma, the headlights must have hurt his eyes like crazy.
    He sang over 800 songs, I wonder how he could remember them all, he never vrote a song himself, so he had to remember other peoples lyrics, well that is amazing in it self.
    By the way he had Glucomea and that must have been difficult being in the headlights all the time, that could be why he sometimes closes his eyes, but also sometimes squinting !
    This unfortually made him temporary blind after the shows, that is why they led him of the stage and into his car, that is something that not many people knew about Elvis.
    Elvis suits was made of 100% Polyester, or 100 cotton (I'm not sure witch one), it was originally a karate suit, it was very light, but it was hot, so it made him sweat a lot, he got some bad press about that, but if you give it all then you will sweat, it should be positive, right?
    About the deep basevoice JD Sumner (a member of The Stamps Quartet) he is the Basso Profundo, I think it's called that, it is the deepest base singer there is.
    A video about him helping others, look at this: ua-cam.com/video/CrJ1c9tm-C0/v-deo.html
    Elvis made a show where all the money went to build the Memorial after Pearl Harbour, he talked to the nations about taking the Poliovaccin, Elvis took the first injection himself, he helped by donating a big amount of money to St Jude hospital, they fight against cancer (especially children with), he also gave away juwelery, gave away cars, he even gave away some houses to total strangers.
    Elvis started an organization that helps people to get out of Homelessness (Presley Charitable Foundation), this organization helps people even now close to 50 years after he passed away.
    A thing that you perhaps did not know: Elvis ALMOST NEVER did a show OUTSIDE OF USA, yes he did sing a few times in Canada: 4 concerts, 2 in Toronto, 1 in Ottowa and 1 time in Vancouver (during the 50:s?).
    When the Aloha From Hawaii (Live in Honolulu 1973) was showed it had 1.5 Billion viewers from around the whole world and 3.7 billion people lived on earth at this time, so it was close to 1/3 of all of the population on earth that wiewed the show, it was the first time a single artist was shown LIVE around the globe.
    Video of Mohammad Ali speech after Elvis died:
    ua-cam.com/video/PO8Kq_3KTyI/v-deo.html
    I have to say that I loved being at Graceland and seeing his home, first we were at the house in Tupelo where he lived in his early years, he was born there !
    You don't have a guide taking you on a tour, you can go all over yourself, but stay outside of the ropes and do not attempt to go upstairs, the outside is huge, so is the house, but you don't realise that from the front of the house.
    I don't regret for a second that I was there, or that I stood at his grave site and said out loud that this is for the humanitarian Elvis/the person/the man and then I gave him a military salute, the others there just looked at me and asked if I didn't like his music.
    So I told them that he was clearly one of the best singers and artists ever, but I loved his big heart more, he helped so many people without getting credit for it, he didn't want the credit of helping others, he did it out of love and respect and to me that is what true charity is all about.
    This PLACE (GRACELAND) should be a protected part of music history and also American history forever, I think that people will keep coming for years and years and years to come !
    Elvis did lots of things for America to, he helped to avoid getting Polio (he took the vaccin in a tv show that made the intrest for taking the vaccin go from 0,6 % to 80 % in 6 months), he also helped in the figth to defeat Cancer by helping to build up St Judes children cancer treatment clinic, he also helped to build the Memorial over Pearl Harbour and many other things!

    I see you got a new t-shirt for the occasion.👍 Nice reaction to one of the most iconic song and performance of The Elvis. The growl in his voice is something special at this time and the depth. A stunning performance that ended his 68 Comeback Show, you missed the last few seconds when he was talking. A great birthday gift for you and us watching. The Colonel wanted him to end the show with a christmas song, but Elvis insisted on doing this instead. Both Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King was shot and killed in 68. MLK was shot a couple of months before this in Memphis Elvis hometown, Elvis was very upset about this and worried about where things were going in the US. He spoke about this and they wrote the song for him to sing for his final number. Seph now you know the power hes possessing, he sings with all his body and soul straight to yours. The more you get to know about him as a person and him as the singer and entertainer the more you will love him. Following you going deeper and deeper into The Elvis is so exiting and fun, I enjoy every second. Hip Hip Hooray!!!

      @@SephPlays I was just rewatching this reaction and wanted to give you a little additional background info. If you don't know who Robert Kennedy was, he was John Kennedy's brother, a presidential candidate in '68, and a huge supporter of civil rights. As for the connection between Elvis and MLK Jr., they had spoken on the phone and Elvis suppoted the civil rights movement with many donations. Elvis had a copy of MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech framed and displayed in his home. He also played the recording for people often, and his girlfriend at the time said Elvis loved reciting the speech for people. Watching this (no spoilers) will give you insight on how much performing this song meant to Elvis and will make it even more meaningful: Martin Luther King & Elvis Presley - "THEY HAD A DREAM" - (50th anniversary) 2018 (8:02).

    Elvis Presley's
    "IF I CAN DREAM"
    From his 68 Comeback Special, was Elvis' Heartfelt and Powerful Tribute to Dr Martin Luther King Jr, after his Assasination in Memphis Tennessee where Elvis Lived. It is Based on the message of MLK's "I Have A Dream" Speech, and was written for him with this in mind. It also honored the Memory of Robert F Kennedy, who was also Assasinated during the same time period. This was a Turbulent Time in America, 🇺🇸 with the Civil Rights Movement, Protests and Riots against Vietnam War and it seemed as if the Country was being torn apart and Elvis wanted to bring a Message of Hope and Unity to the Nation. "If I Can Dream" is at it's heart, a Civil Rights Song.

    So, I saw your reaction to "If I Can Dream" Seph and it was exactly the reaction I had, first time hearing.
    I didn't cry. What I felt was hope. And since I lived thru the strife & violence of the sixties, I also felt some anger & sadness that
    such a song needed to be sung.
    As a little girl, I recall a feeling of fear & terror on one notable day; a day me & my family made a rare trip out of the suburbs of Baltimore (Maryland) into the City.
    The US was seeing riots and fires in many cities across the land over the senseless killing of a great man: a man of peace, of God, of Love; Martin Luther King Jr.
    MLK had been struck down in Memphis Tennessee April 4 and rioting was erupting in cities across the US.
    In parts of the city our black brothers & sisters were experiencing events on a far different level. They were angry. They were grief-stricken. They were crushed this esteemed man who advocated for equality & justice had been taken.
    Two days after MLK's assassination, television News showed cars on fire and City blocks on fire; thousands of people out in the streets going crazy and a huge local police presence assisted by thousands of Federal troops sent in by then president Lyndon B Johnson to quell the violence.
    As a young girl, I didn't have a full grasp of the happenings of the day but I DID know tensions were high, violence was erupting and I was scared. It was surreal, sitting in the back seat listening to Motown and seeing the black smoke rising in distant parts of the City.
    Mom bought our Easter delicacies and we returned home with no one worse for the wear.
    That ride, the music, the sights & the sounds of the day all rush back any time I think of it.
    What became known as 'the Baltimore Riot of 1968' was one of the three biggest disturbances arising out of that period of immense civil unrest of the times. King died April 4. Reactions remained peaceful until late afternoon April 6, when at the end of a Memorial Service someone threw rocks into retail windows. That set off eight days of violence in Baltimore alone. A hundred other US cities also experienced similar but smaller riots.
    ~~~~~~~~
    from Wikipedia - "The Baltimore riot of 1968 was a period of civil unrest that lasted from April 6 to April 14, 1968, in Baltimore. The uprising included crowds filling the streets, burning and looting local businesses, and confronting the police and national guard. Over 11, 500 members of local & Federal law enforcement officers & soldiers converged on the City to maintain order.
    In the next few days, 6 people died, 700 were injured, and 5,800 were arrested. 1,000 small businesses were damaged or robbed. Property damages, assessed financially, were more severe in DC ($15 million), Baltimore ($12 million), and Chicago ($10 million) than in any other cities.
    "Rioters set more than 1,200 fires during the disturbance. Damage was estimated at over $12 million (equivalent to $77.5 million today).
    Of the arrests, 3,488 were for curfew violations, 955 for burglary, 665 for looting, 391 for assault, and 5 for arson."
    Only two months later, another leader among men, ardent champion of Civil Rights Robert F Kennedy would die of an assassin's bullet on June 6, 1968.
    This magnificent song, written expressly for Elvis to sing on his television broadcast, was to embody all the man was feeling in his heart and all an unsettled Nation were feeling as well; in effort to comfort, console and encourage Hope for the day when "all our brothers walk hand in hand".
    🕊✌☮
    First of all, Happy Birthday Seph 🎂🤗
    When Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in Elvis` beloved city Memphis (of all places), Elvis was so shocked and devastated that he cried in a fetal position.
    "If I Can Dream" is a live recording and obviously refers to MLK Jr.`s wonderful speech "I Have A Dream".
    But it also refers to everything that was going on in the 60s:
    1. John F. Kennedy - assassinated on November 22, 1963
    2. Malcolm X - assassinated on February 21, 1965
    3. Martin L. King Jr - assassinated on April 4, 1968
    4. Robert.F. Kennedy - assassinated on June 6, 1968
    5. In addition, there was The Cold War and The Vietnam War going on. Thousands of Am.
    soldiers were dying in Vietnam and were brought back in caskets.
    6. There were countless protests against the Vietnam War.
    7. There was the constant threat of a nuclear war, and of course, there was
    The Cuban Crisis.
    8. The Civil Rights Movement with MLK Jr., Malcolm X, and The Black Panthers.
    America was in turmoil and people lived in fear. Black people have lived in fear before, but
    now even the white society didn`t feel safe anymore.
    Elvis` song addresses all that. And although Colonel Parker was against this song, because he always wanted "His Golden Boy" to stay out of political content, the song became a great success.
    That`s when Elvis decided that from then on he would never record anything again that had no real meaning to him.
    Have a fantastic birthday. 🍷🍰
    I think we can safely say that you are the most dedicated Elvis Reactor on youtube. I don't think nobody else would have the patience and resolve to listen to all his recorded songs in order from the beginning .
    If Elvis could see this, he would probably reward you for your devotion with a brand new shiny cadillac as a birthday present. 🚗
      Im still a little shocked that no one else on UA-cam is doing this.
      And its a crying shame that 95% of them only ever do like 5 songs of his and then dont bother listening to any more... They are missing out ya know?
      @SephPlays they truly are!!! Elvis still has a huge fan base, and it's growing even bigger with the success of Baz Luhrman's Elvis film. New generations are now curious about Elvis and seeking content so if I was a creator building a channel, Elvis content is a no brainer!
    Happy Birthday!
    "If I Can Dream" is a song made famous by Elvis Presley, written by Walter Earl Brown[1] for the singer and notable for its similarities with Martin Luther King Jr.'s 1963 "I Have a Dream" speech.[2] The song was published by Elvis Presley's music publishing company Gladys Music. It was recorded by Presley in June 1968, just two months after King's assassination. The recording was first released to the public as the finale of Presley's '68 Comeback Special.
    Composer Billy Goldenberg and lyricist Walter Earl Brown were asked to write a song to replace "I'll Be Home for Christmas" as the grand finale on NBC's Elvis, taped from June 20-23, 1968 (now also known as ‘68 Comeback Special).[3] Knowing about Presley’s fondness for Martin Luther King Jr., and about his devastation related to his then-recent assassination in Memphis, Brown wrote "If I Can Dream" with Presley in mind. After Presley heard the demo, he proclaimed: "I'm never going to sing another song I don't believe in. I'm never going to make another movie I don't believe in".[4]
    Goldenberg removed his name from the credits to avoid a publishing dispute.[3] The song was published by Presley's company Gladys Music, Inc.
    After Colonel Tom Parker heard the demo of the song sent by Earl Brown, he said: "This ain't Elvis' kind of song." Elvis was also there, and he countered Parker's argument, then he pleaded: "Let me give it a shot, man." Earl Brown said while Elvis recorded the song, he saw tears rolling down the cheeks of the backing vocalists. One of them whispered to him: "Elvis never sung with so much emotion. Looks like he means every word."[5] Presley associate Jerry Schilling has said, "I consider Elvis to be a writer on this song. That song was him expressing how he truly felt."[6]
    After filming for the TV special was complete with its eventual editing, the song was released as a single with “Edge of Reality” as the flip side on 22 November 1968, with the TV special airing 11 days later. It charted on Billboard's Hot 100 for 3 months and a week, peaking at #12, with more than one million sales;[4] although the RIAA certified the song as only gold (500,000 units shipped) as of March 27, 1992.[7] In Canada, the song peaked at #6 on RPM's top singles chart, maintaining that position for two weeks.[8]
    Happy Birthday, this is a present for us. Thank you so much for reacting to this wonderful tribute to MLKjr. He was very determined to do this song against all odds. He actually treated it with sacred reverence and never sang it in public again. You make my day, thanks again for your wonderful efforts to keep Elvis alive. Have a special day.
    Been waiting for this-
    This was written by Earl Brown. It was a beautiful message song as MLK was assassinated 2 months prior 8 miles from his home & then Kennedy being shot. His voice is impeccable but the passion & pain coming thru is breathtaking!
    Hope you have a wonderful birthday! 🎉🎈🎉🎈😊
    Happy birthday Seph. This is a very powerful/emotional song. My eyes tear up every time I watch it. Elvis was very sad over the two assassinations in 1968. He wanted all the people to live together in harmony.
    I'm watching this again and I'm reminded of when I watched this show on live TV. I (and I imagine many others) was absolutely stunned when he sang this song. All the songs in the 68 Special were stunning and I imagine many people who really listened to him for the first time, really, really listened, discovered how very good he was.
    Happy, Happy Birthday Seph! 😂🎂🎂🎈🎈🎈🎁🎁 Elvis gave you a phenomenal Birthday gift just for you. 😂😂❤❤❤ I’m sure you’ve already heard it was sung because he was so upset over MLK & Bobby Kennedy’s assassinations in 68 that when he was doing his 68 Comeback Special he wanted to sing a song to honor them. It was written just for Elvis and he was the first to ever sing it. Soo, have a great Birthday and my Birthday is in July also. Have a great day. ❤❤❤❤🎁🎁🎁🎂🎂🎂🎈🎈🎈🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️
