  • Hitting the west coast of South Australia for the first time with the boys. Starting at Coffin Bay we ventured to Greenly Island approx.. 75kms from launch at the boat ramp. We felt like a dot out in the middle of nowhere. We caught plenty of fish ranging from tuna, kingfish, blue groper, nannygai and even had a Great White shark chewing on the motor. Sleeping on the boat from three nights was tuff due to the island wildlife just didn't want to sleep - seals fighting, birds flying and if you had baits in the water they were getting hit hard.

Used to refer to those Leatherjackets as “Horseshoe Leatherjacket” in reference to the black line in the yellow.

It’s absolutely stunning out there that’s for sure. I think it’s my new ‘going wide’ favourite fishing spot. Glad you enjoyed and thanks for getting onboard.

Glad you enjoy the video and thanks for watching. I thought we would see a few pointers with the stories we had heard from others that had ventured out that way but when they showed up we realized we were in their playground and to be very careful of our surroundings.

I had the exact same experience at greenly in 2022 with a great white aswell we there for about 10 mins when the bloody thing appeared from nowhere and kept trying to bite our props I have a 8 metre cat and I estimated it at 5 meters an absolute monster it hung around for ages we eventually moved and got onto some big king fish but it certainly was a very erie experience

How good💯. They are amazing creatures but they remind you that they are king of the ocean when they come in. Just the way they look at you with their big black eyes is crazy. The one we had buzzing us spooked the kingies that’s for sure.

We normally jump in the water and have a scrub - but i havent spent the last 12 months fighting cancer to get eaten by a bloody great White Shark!

Absolutely bud. It will be in the back of our minds every time when washing the hands over the side or jumping in for a scrub that’s for sure!
