I love Blacktip Shark. I usually fish Port Aransas, TX and do get at least one a day from the deep water. I usually cut down from the top going downwards cutting into steaks. I use butter with lemon juice and fresh dill and smoke using mesquite wood. Keep up the great work.
Blacktip is great eating. I used to use Italian dressing and then charcoal grill it but my wife decided to buy McCormick Grill Mates marinade seasoning packets. They are better than Italian dressing for shark steaks. I suggest these flavors in order. Baja Citrus Mojito Lime Garlic Herb & Wine Zesty Herb Those are the best with any seafood. Really good with pompano. Also suggest reserving a little marinade to spoon over the fish after grilling.
Congratulations on completing your goal and sharing that video with us. I wish I could fish for shark because that steak looked delicious! I've only had shark one time and that was many, many years ago. It was a beautifully seasoned Mako. But honestly that's all I remember. Thanks again for bringing back some amazing memories. 👍👍
This looks like fort pickens, if so, i was just there may 1st too. Was hoping to spot an elusive brent while im visiting this week lol. You inspired me to invest in a surf setup and i started trying pompano today, though with some trials and errors. Only thing i caught was sand fleas and a sun burn 😂 thanks for all your knowledge.
Enjoyed watching you catch sharks exactly where I used to shark fish in the mid-70s to early 80s. I caught many species including a 10' hammerhead, duskys, lemons, nurse, and maybe a few others. Sometimes fished from the old pier with well known local shark fisherman of that era, Elmo Horine. I don't know if anyone still remembers him. I've moved away but really loved that spot.
I catch sharks fairly often when surf fishing in Daytona. I never target them, always fishing for whiting and pompano, but they look super tasty! I'll have to keep the next legal one and try it! Went to PCB for the first time and caught 2 very tasty slot reds this February! These videos are great!
Looks delicious! the last time I ate shark it was obviously handled poorly (grocery store fish counter). It was mako and and it tasted like how a litter box smells. They probably didn't bleed it or clean it quick enough.
Sharks were always of the first that we caught, and on overnight trips they would usually be on the grill the first night out. I was always of the understanding that they "urinated" by excreting it through their skin, so we always filleted them and skinned them immediately and put them on ice in salt water, to prevent that "ammonia" smell/flavor
Bonnet head sharks are delicious!👍 When I lived in 'The Keys', I'd catch em'all the time and throw em' back until one day when an 'older gentleman' saw me catch one and I was about to throw it back until he told me about how good they are to eat. Thank you 'older gentleman'.👍🍻
Shark is great to eat and I would certainly rate it higher than many of the more popular eating fish. Use to catch and eat a lot of sharks back in the day. Thanks for your videos!
Hi Brant. I'm coming down next month to hopefully load up on some Spanish from pier in the a.m. and try landing some shark with my new penn battle 3 8k. Ill be running 80 lbs braid and surf fishing from national seashore area. What are you using for steel leader? Single or multi strand, knots or crimps, and if knots which knots? Thanks so much for the content and all of the knowledge
I served smoked shark to some friends a few years ago while we laughed at the Jaws movie. The biggest shark I ever caught was a four and a half ft. Lemon Shark. They are incredibly strong. it was like trying to catch a jet ski.
Here in SW FL the other anglers say that Bonnethead aka shovel head sharks are the best tasting shark. I think Bearded Brad did a catch n cook with Bonnethead in the keys
Any tips for a newer shark angler? Caught a few when I was a kid, but that was just helping my uncle. Am I gonna be good with 500yd, 50lb braid? Recommended bait? I always love shark catch n cooks, I hope you add one in every 4-6 months or so. We definitely have enough along FL coasts...
I’m not into fishing and I’ve never really fished in my life but it’s fun watching people catch fish. I have people in my family who fish though. My cousin is on a fishing team at a college and he’s gotten big bass before. I didn’t even know it was legal to catch sharks lol
Love the videos man, been watching for a while now. Learned a lot watching what you do! Gotta know something though... why do you wrap your hand up when you bomb the big baits out?
Coming down to gulf shores in June. Hoping to make it to beach bum outdoors. Where is the place your fishing at in this video? Thanks for a great vid and info as always!
That was the perfect size blacktip! One of my favorite sharks! So if you ever have a chance to fish the Pacific coast, a really tasty shark to go for is the Leppard shark. Very good grilled. Growing up in Southern California, this was a very popular target fish. They don't get very large though. The world record is only fifty pounds. In the state of California they have to be 33 inches to harvest. Great video man!👍👍 I'm glad you finally got one! Btw, are bull sharks legal to harvest in FL?
@5:23 I'm a smart guy, BUT I have always wondered how you cast "Beach Rigs" without killing your fingers? Is that what the towel is for? Can you take us through how to cast one?
Brandt, I almost came out to where you were but fished the Pensacola Beach Pier instead yesterday. Sharks were everywhere. Didn't go 5 min without seeing at least 1 but many times you saw 3-5 at time. All black tips my guess though there was one giant who kept popping up just outside the outer sandbar. Spanish weren't running thick but catching quite a few and all of them very good size. Problem was the sharks. They were hitting everyone's gotcha lures or Rapala's. I got broke off and about 7 others did as well from sharks. BTW, they are catching some king's as well. About 1pm there was a run of blue fish. There were some tank blue fish caught, several pounds. Glad you finally conquered your quest! lol
It's been a long time since I had some shark. Looks great. Brant I know you do this so much more than me but instead of wrapping a rag around your finger is there a reason you don't use something like a "casting cannon"? I have one on both of my larger spinning set ups and work great with the heavier baits like you were casting. I can bomb it better and have more control than with using my finger and wrapping it. Just curious.
I’m from Texas and have fished here my whole live and never had much of a problem with sharks. Went to Destin Florida and the first fish I took off a pier got sharked. Y’all can definitely can spare a few sharks
When you get a chance you need to try nurse shark . You'll throw all the other sharks in the garbage . They have to be 54 inches or bigger believe me when I tell you it's worth the hassle they're way better tasting than any shark I've ever eaten. I've eaten a lot of different kind including black tip spinner sharp nose black nose lemon then let me not even lie hammerhead bonnethead bull and a bunch of other. Nurse shark by Forest the best out of all of them.
This was an amazing video. I wish I was sitting beside you eating some of that shark! You made me hungry as you can tell! Again great video. Would you consider a catfish catch a cook?
When I lived in Florida we used to LOVE to catch these shark. We used to call them blah-tih sharh fih! I lost out because I never liked fish, but I've never tried shark.
Yall go check out yakin with Jacks channel ua-cam.com/video/UR_z27qExBs/v-deo.htmlsi=6NomE-sEvPKtbXrW
Jack’s is a fun channel, watch him take a blind dive for his rod.
Hey what kinda rod do you have specifically the blueish colored one
😢😢😢😢😢
Am I the only one kinda annoyed the seafood market is scamming people advertising the wrong fish.
Unfortunately it is nothing new. And I totally agree with you, it is completely wrong.
I'm still sick to my stomach over what I paid for a 4 pound Jack Crevalle
Reporting to the state should be a start in putting a stop to that.
Just out of curiosity can you tell us the dollar amount they got you for? I'm just wondering.

Never tried but will now , lot of helpful information, thank you.
Glad to see you complete your shark quest!
Great job Brant!!! Keep up the good work!!! Tight Lines!!!
I love your videos. I’m on pacific, never been to Florida, but would love to fish ocean like this.😀
Finally!! The video I been waiting for!
Definitely a video if been wanting to see you do
Great video never seen how to clean a shark. Really enjoyed it.
That looked amazing
Great job Brant I've been watching and waiting while you were on The Struggle Bus with this one those steaks looked absolutely delicious

Deffently do more of this man

When ya scraped the spices/butter off the grill, I knew that you know....... Yup, that's the way it's done >> flavor is born
Shark are good. Brant that made my mouth water
Great shark to ear my favorite.

You inspired me to invest in a surf setup and i started trying pompano today, though with some trials and errors. Only thing i caught was sand fleas and a sun burn 😂 thanks for all your knowledge.
Very interesting. Never seen the proper process. Don't know if I could do it. I always release em
You should get the drone that drops bait for sharks, works well in Bolivar TX.
Love me some Maco shark. Black tip is runner up.

was always curious what you do with the scraps when cleaning fish that size from home
I catch sharks fairly often when surf fishing in Daytona. I never target them, always fishing for whiting and pompano, but they look super tasty! I'll have to keep the next legal one and try it! Went to PCB for the first time and caught 2 very tasty slot reds this February! These videos are great!
OMGosh! That looks so delicious!
Looks great! Love these types of videos. About to go to St. George Island in July. Hope to give it a try. What tackle were you using?
Great fish Brent! Love watching your channel from Tennessee where I can’t fish for these salt water giants! Love the videos man keep it up!
Looks delicious! the last time I ate shark it was obviously handled poorly (grocery store fish counter). It was mako and and it tasted like how a litter box smells. They probably didn't bleed it or clean it quick enough.
I love shark, I would rather have shark than snapper. I’m coming to your house for supper.
Did you ever consider putting the bells on the end of your pole so can focus on catching your bait without missing a strike.
WAKE UP honey a new Brant video!!
blacktip he good an they good to be harvested an also some others..good fishin an good cookin brant be safe..

Just wondering the purpose of the scarf around your hand when you are casting?
Black tips are the filet mignon of fish ..I love the flavor ..if KEY word bleed them right

Do you have a video on your setup for shark fishing from the beach? Love your video !
Shark is great to eat and I would certainly rate it higher than many of the more popular eating fish. Use to catch and eat a lot of sharks back in the day. Thanks for your videos!
what is the rag you put over your hand what casting for?
Had shark before and it was delicious, need to try it your way soon
I love your videos. I still very new to fishing if we are allowed to cut the fish at the beach? Also would the fish go bad if I take it home and cut?
If you havent tried it, marinade your shark in half italian dressing and half teriaki sauce
Just a noob question, I see your putting you hand in a bag to cast. Any reason to this?
Brant, why is it you put your buff on your hand when you cast? I am a total newbie to sea fishing so wpuld love some tips ect. Love the content
Congrats brother great catch and completing your goal. Can't wait to land my first shark.

GO NOLES '70.
I really enjoy your fishing expeditions. I loved surf fishing but now that I'm an amputee I can't do it.
Thanks for the great videos!

I’ve never had shark but next time I get a chance I’ll have to try it out. Those steaks look delicious! 😋
Looks fantastic. I’d have been making dirty rice as a side. Or just gone to Publix for coleslaw.
You could swim out about 200 yards and start splashing around and then swim back toward your bait until you get a bite.
Hey Brant great video ! What was the reason for using a glove on the casting hand ?
Any tips for a newer shark angler? Caught a few when I was a kid, but that was just helping my uncle. Am I gonna be good with 500yd, 50lb braid? Recommended bait?

I caught a 3'+ Bonnethead last spring and yes they are DELICIOUS!! I season with Slap Yo Mama, for grilled and fried fish.
Thanks for the info, great catch!
Trying to attempt a shark catch and cook with my buddy’s channel 904 Fishing! Awesome job Brant!
I'm gonna try this for sure!!!
Coming down to gulf shores in June. Hoping to make it to beach bum outdoors. Where is the place your fishing at in this video? Thanks for a great vid and info as always!
Great video! Your cooking kills me every time. May have to get a blackstone now... could have bought one last year for $100 at a garage sale... Thx!
way to complete the mission!
Did you keep it on ice on the way home?when you bleed em does it take the ammonia smell away?

It looks good 😊, I will try shark meat now next time I catch one and thumbs up on the good cooking skills 😊👍🪝🐟🎣
@5:23 I'm a smart guy, BUT I have always wondered how you cast "Beach Rigs" without killing your fingers? Is that what the towel is for? Can you take us through how to cast one?
Yes, that is what the towel is for. I will explain it in the next beach video.
Try it with your favorite white sauce.
What is the blue rod you were using?
Why do you have that towel/rag on your right hand when you cast?
When I was a kid 40+ years ago that wall seemed like it was 15' tall!
How long does it take to get from Golf Breeze to Beach bum Outdoors
Did you keep the skin to make leather. Style clothing like a belt, boots, hat band, wide width watch wrist band?
Brandt, I almost came out to where you were but fished the Pensacola Beach Pier instead yesterday. Sharks were everywhere. Nice Catch! We are going out Saturday to the same area to fish for Shark!
What beach is this?
Dat looks soooo goodddd
I'm from up north. Long Island. The only sharks we eat are mako and Thresher.
Sharks are just as populated on the Atlantic side too. Glad to see people noticing this. Good video Mr. Brant.
Next time cover it in monterey jack and put it oven after you cook it. Takes it to another level.
I’m from Texas and have fished here my whole live and never had much of a problem with sharks. Went to Destin Florida and the first fish I took off a pier got sharked. Y’all can definitely can spare a few sharks

Well done Brant !! Finally got the one you wanted And looked real tasty 👍👍

When I lived in Florida we used to LOVE to catch these shark. We used to call them blah-tih sharh fih! I lost out because I never liked fish, but I've never tried shark.
need to get casting triggers for the big rods , save your fingers
Big up Brandt.....Jamaica in daaa house!!
hey Brant next time cut that sharpnose up and throw that out those black tips love those things
Do you not have size regulations on them? They gotta be like 56 to the fork here in NC
You can keep one a day no size limit
Why do you use the cloth bag when you cast?
Orange juice Bud you will love it
looks absolutely delicioso!!
cheers from galveston
what beach is this?
is it in mass?
Is the mercury level pretty high in small sharks? Or not something to worry about?
Jack is definitely sharky lol keep up the great content. Been wondering how long it was gonna take to get it done. Well done.
Finally!
Looks delicious
