I grew up fishing Port Vic. My Grandparents own a Shack across the road from the Caravan park. Back in the day it was a fishing village and aboriginal community. The Jetty was lined with dingy s servicing the fishing boats moored further out off the jetty. At least 30 or Forty of them. After a storm all the fisherman would go down to the jetty and help each other retrieve their dingy as most of them would have been swamped and sunk. My Grandfather was a WWII veteran Rat of Tobruk and New Guinea. He was a fisherman their retiring to live the quiet life. Hand line fishing from his little boat ( It was very small. Only fit 2 people sitting down side by side, behind the inboard engine) Many memories

Around Ceduna, it was known for the best land based snapper in Australia 🇦🇺 of course get them boat fishing 🎣, they migrate to Port Phillip Bay Victoria Around December 😀 ❤❤ I worked 💪 on a scallop boat school holidays at age 12 ,we got 13 kilo like yours, these big ones are full 😀 of jelly type oil, 4 to 8lb are the best 👌 ❤❤😂😊

Get a couple of bags of ice, a bucket or two of sea water and drop them straight in the slurry. Puts them to sleep instantly keeps them fresh as a daisy.

I had the exact same experience at greenly in 2022 with a great white aswell we there for about 10 mins when the bloody thing appeared from nowhere and kept trying to bite our props I have a 8 metre cat and I estimated it at 5 meters an absolute monster it hung around for ages we eventually moved and got onto some big king fish but it certainly was a very erie experience

Used to refer to those Leatherjackets as “Horseshoe Leatherjacket” in reference to the black line in the yellow.
