Ancient Egypt is the third cultural settlement in Forge of Empires, added to the game on March 18th, 2020. A temporary outpost is built to unlock embassy advancements and a couple of new buildings for the city.

For those of you that are used to deleting roads as you re-arrange note: roads cost 200 Egyptian coins each! Don't delete & rebuild them or you will run out of Ecoins!

you get 1000s of coins though, and not enough loot to make the goods.
Edit: I agree, don't delete them willy nilly but you will be fine deleting a few to make space and move things around. I don't delete the whole settlement to rearrange I just delete one or two buildings then do a bit of Tetris.

Btw, they should allow to run settlements in parallel, i.e. Vikings, Japanese and Egyptians :-)
many players finished vikings, Japanese was not in-game in the moment, so it is nonsense... and newbies must play somehow how they can...

FoETipps: Ancient Egypt Cultural Settlement in Forge of Empires
Ancient Egypt is the third cultural settlement in Forge of Empires, added to the game on March 18th, 2020. A temporary outpost is built to unlock embassy advancements and a couple of new buildings for the city.
This 3rd cultural settlement is a real challenge. It takes longer than Vikings or Japanese and requires the player's activity several times every day to be able to complete the related questline within the given deadline. Concentration on this questline is the key to success. All 23 quests can be found in the first, pinned comment below the video.
Only at the very beginning, I recommend building in a slightly different order than indicated by the questline. It is better to get 2 more houses at the start of the game to be able to add a training camp to the grain farm that is requested. You can only get Barley if you to have Loot which you can get only through battles. Therefore it is very important to have military units as soon as possible to win these first battles.
I also tried to start with 2 military buildings, but this will not make it easier. Just build the training camp and train units as soon as possible. The additional slots should be used also, This requires the investment of some Egyptian coins, but you will always have enough of these. So do not hesitate.
The Kopesh Fighters trained in the training camp have a stackable bonus when placed next to each other. This allows to win these early battles having these units only. There will be another video in this channel about fighting with Egyptians soon. At this point, I only want to mention that a single battle every day is absolutely enough at the beginning of the settlement to have enough loot always. Just pick the easiest opponent every day as the related reward will be sufficient.
The third quest then provides some unattached units. Take care of these as they cannot be replaced if lost. I never used these in the automatic battles. The Kopesh fighters from the training camp can be replaced easily.
You will receive loot from your first battle that you can use to produce Barley. This way the first 5 quests are completed easily.
Use the first Barley immediately to buy 3 expansions step by step. Don't buy more than 3 with Barley. The impediments in these expansions are more than in Viking or Japanese settlements and they disturb much more. Initially, it is difficult to place bigger buildings. For completing quest 6 you will receive a kit that enables you to remove an impediment. Pay attention to get one huge area without impediments instead of many small areas.
In the beginning, you only have potted plants to increase the diplomatic value. Build many of these. They only cost some coins and supplies of your main city which should not be a problem.
As soon as you enable the divine statue, you should construct two as a quest requires that. Don't build more of these. The related diplomacy value is bad and you will have enough Egyptian coins without these. After completing quest 7 you can demolish these.
In this phase, you should produce Barley without interruption. Place a pottery as soon as possible. With these new goods again buy 3 more expansions. Barley and Pottery have to be produced in stock, depending on which is requested how often in the next quests. Then you can replace one of these by a flower farm.
Replace the simple houses by multi-story clay houses as soon as these are enabled. The cultivated palms should replace all these potted plants. Then you will be able to have these high diplomacy values that are required for the next steps. The critical initial phase which decides about being able to finish in time or not will be completed with the construction of a flower farm. Use these flowers to add 3 more expansions. Use the pickaxes wisely. Building space is critical for your success.
The video does not always show what I describe. I also had to try different things to find the best way. In a few weeks, there will be published a step by step manual so that everybody can follow that easily. Today's video is a result of the time pressure.
From now on concentrate on the questline. It is not necessary to build a very nice settlement. It is only important to complete the questline. You will then receive two buildings. The first building you will receive for the completion of the city, independent of how long it took. This is the Royal Bathhouse with a 3 x 4 floor size. On level 1 it provides coins, 2 forge points, and a military unit. It is a sort of tiny Alcatraz. By completing Egyptians more often, this building can be upgraded to level 6. Then it provides more coins and forge points plus 10 unattached military units every day.
If you complete the settlement within a certain deadline, you will also receive some fragments of an ancient obelisk. With 15 fragments this building can be constructed and this is exactly the number of fragments that you will receive if you complete the settlement within 28 days. This tiny 2x2 building provides coins, a forge point, and a 2% defense bonus for the attacking army. On level 4 you will receive twice as many coins and forge points. The defense bonus for the attacking army is increased to 6% and it also provides some goods from the building's era.
For the 2nd and 7th completion of the Egyptian settlement, you will get another slot for an ambassador in your city hall. The ambassadors will then provide an additional daily forge point, supplies, goods or 2 military units of the current era.

Hi, first, thanks for all your content. A big reason to why i startet playing FoE, and im enjoying it a lot. Will you put more videos up on the different ages, ? Line how to complete GE level 4 on all ages? Especially Early Middle ages :) but also all the others. I think being able to do GE4 is the most important thing to be able to do in the game, to have great sucess.

Only buy 2 with barley. The top row should be all residential then build 2 at the end leaving 1 square of space for the road. Once built, from the embassy left build barley farm, light barracks, artillery barracks. When you can get enough population add a 2nd artillery barracks to the end.
The expansions you buy w/ barley should be the top left 2 unless there is an expansion which will let you build a pottery shop that can be connected to the embassy w/ just 1 square of road.
The reward of quest 7 also has 25 Barley, which I think is important.

I'm about to finish the japanese settlement, but i didn't finish the viking one, should I start the egyptians or continue with the vikings as i already have the yggdrasil lvl 2 in my city ? (i don't like the viking settlement, that's why I did the japanese first. Thanks for your nice videos and keep going ! You're delevering us good news every time by the best way ;;)
Do you fight? Yggdrasil is an attack building and should be done if you fight a lot. If you have a Traz, then you don't need to worry about Egypt for a while.
@@tails183 yeah I fight quite a lot, I already have 200%/100% bonus in attack (industrial age) , I do the 3 first stage of GE with fight, and I do have a traz lvl 11, so I think you answer me quite well thank you!

Wonderful as always 😊 I eagerly await your additional videos on the Egyptian Settlement. Most especially regarding fighting in the Egyptian Settlement. I have not been able to beat the 2nd level fight at all.
Use the defence and attack bonus of your units. Example - elephants have huge att/def bonus against camillas. Every different unit has such bonus against other type of unit. Whit this you can beat all 3 levels
You can just use archers , 2 camps, and you will beat the first 2 fights pretty easily.

Look at the bonus of your units and then pick that one where you are in advantage...

how fast u do this settlement is dependent on how well you are at fighting, if u can do easy and medium fight every day u be able to finish it on time. Hard fight not needed.

If you want to do at least SOME of the thinking for yourself, or you want to learn HOW to play this settlement, this video will bore you and not be useful.

I can't stand this settlement! The buildings all look the same and the impediments are so frustrating. Definitely made to tempt one to purchase diamonds.
I just started getting back into my settlement after almost 6 months of inactivity. Have I completely missed the Egyptian settlement? I have the Viking. Is there a way to get this if I missed it?
Click on that boat as for vikings, but then select Egypt.
FoEhints I tried that but no option comes up. It just takes me to my Viking Settlement...

The first battle when you have 5 fighters or can you fight sooner ?
Having played this settlement for a while now, I really have grown to hate it. Whyyyy make roads cost Egyptian coins rather than regular coins and supplies (like everything else in the settlement, and like everything in previous settlements)? As there still is no edit tool in settlements, and as impediments are everywhere and I can't earn any of the pickaxes besides the first free one, this is starting to feel like an impossible task. I really am not enjoying this settlement and probably won't play it again (holding out on hope that this channel might save me with a more detailed video). I still have the Vikings settlement left, so I will probably play that one instead once (or if) I finish this first one..

Where is it ?
Click on that tiny vessel in that pond in the northeast of your city. There you can decide between the 3 different cultural settlements
How do I switch between settlements?
Mary Lou Roberto first you have to abandon it. When abandoned it will take you to a screen to where you can select what settlement you want. But you can’t play any till the next day. When you come back after 24 hours you can select the settlement you want.
In this case the modders sayed that you can contact at the support for not wait 1 day
they dropped the ball on this one, too difficult and time consuming for a reward that is trash.
The timed rewards are trash, the main reward isn't terrible. And before you say "I already have a Traz" it works differently than a Traz and can actually improve your Traz.
