I filled up my Epson EcoTank 2862 with a sublimation ink from Hiipoo but my printer ink status LED blinks as there is no ink in the tanks. I get a pop-up message telling me that the printer might be damaged if there is no ink in the tanks. Can the ET2862 printer be converted to a sublimation printer? I bought this printer solely for the purpose of sublimation print therefore voiding the warrant is not an issue. In your experience, does ET-2862 work/print with Hiipoo sublimation ink? thanks
These are FeltRight wall tiles. You can customize the color and style for any space. I have a more details here www.creativeramblingsblog.com/craft-room-wall-update-with-felt-right/
Thank you for the video. 2 questions after almost a year. Does the printer still work for sublimation? I know you have to use it like once a week from what I’ve seen so that it doesn’t get clogged but how’s the longevity. Also has there been any updates to the software/firmware that does something stupid like make this not possible in 2024. Thank you
I still use this often but not so much that I've had to buy new ink. I have also updated the firmware a couple times when prompted and everything is working great!
Hi, can this be done with any tank printers. I have HP and Samsung laptops and prefer to use the "compatible " printers. Also your vids are great some if not yhe best on here. Explained extremely clear and very helpful. I want the marry it all up with an explore three and a heat press. Mostly for a hobby /small side job. Thank you.
Not all tank printers will work for sublimation, if the ink jet printer uses heat to print like a Canon then it won't work with sublimation ink. Epson for sure doesn't use heat with it's ecotank series. I'm so glad you found this helpful! That's always my goal. You combo of an Explore 3 and heat press will be great for sublimation.
Hello, Do you have any advice for converting a used printer to sublimation? I currently have a printer that I would like to convert but it currently has regular ink.
If it has tanks like this one you can convert it. You will need to clean the tanks really well and try to flush out the existing dye ink. You could do this by using up all the ink then running the cleaning process on the printer. I'm not sure that will work completely but it might be worth a try.
I have heard that too but personally I haven't had any issues. I run the clean cycle whenever I'm prompted and use it regularly so the ink doesn't sit.
@@SarahVanderkooy thank you so much for that fast reply, doing it right now , but this is à brand new printer, i fill it with the ink provide with the printer thinking it was for sublimation , when inrealize the mistake i buy sublimation ink, empty the original ink and fill with the sublimation one , my problem of color is with the sublimation ink

Do you do updates to the printer when it shows up ready for update?
Yes I have been and everything has been working smoothly.
Love the backdrop you have for the video. Was that done using circuit? Do you have a video on it?

I've heard the printer heads differ between inkjet and sublimation printers. Have you had any problems with the ink plugging the print heads?

I put the sublimation ink but the colors does not come out , and the black ... barely
You may need to run a clean cycle on the machine, it will work to unclog the nozzles.
