I am having this problem now. Hours and hours spent on trying to unclog the blue only. Replaced the maintenance box which led to the cost of resetting the printer and tons of ink and still can’t get the blue clear. Any suggestions? The printer is the ET-2803 and only a few months old.
I have an Epson 2720. This tip does the trick since I have had my printer clogged, since I didn’t use it for 6 months! Now it is working great!

Thanks Jennifer! It's my dad's printer and when he asked for help there was NO Cyan and NO Magenta. Ooooo... Ok... I really didn't think it would work. But it did! It took 3 days of 3x/day of Print Head Cleaning but back up and running. Thanks so much for the video!!

Jennifer you are a legend! I watched several videos and followed them and then your video really stood out. I did the nozzle clean and head clean and unfortunately i had to do the 11min power wash. I went online and got my password from your site and went to your library and ran the file 588 for your PDF files for the Purge Sheets. I waited 12 hours overnight, got up this morning and ran the YELLOW Purge sheet and CMYB Purge Sheets! .......and its FIXED!! Yipee. I was sceptical at first about letting your printer 'rest' as i have never heard of that and this was also my first time to have a problem with our ecotank (we have ET-2820 her in Australia) Our problem was that last week after the kids printed an A4 page of a copy of a photo that the Yellow and Cian were not coming through in colour printing. It was for of all pinky looking. I ended up doing 5 x head cleans and only 1 power wash. It took a 3rd of my ink whilst doing that so now i can see via the process that you dont want to do that very much and it would be much better to run a purge weekly than go through all this again. A big thank you for your expertise.!!!!

and even after following this video on 2 different epson 2720 and 2800, my nozzel checks where still horrible but someone told me to change print settings to high quality and photo paper ink - and omg my prints no longer have lines thru them... what a difference. and now i know i need to get a new maintenance box for my 2720 and i'm close on the 2800 so i ordered them. thank you so much for your video.!!!

Thank you, Jennifer Maker, for your calm and detailed explanation to fix a problem that gives us so much stress. Our ET-2760 decided to stop printing cyan in the middle of a print job today. I had 0 cyan lines in the nozzle check and the purge file was no help. After 3 head cleanings the tiniest bit of a blue line showed up on the nozzle check, so I figured the 4th time was the charm. So happy to report that it was!

Oh my goodness thanks. I had a very challenging week last week and to top it off, you guessed it my printer clogged. I searched how to fix it and did eventually do a power clean after a few steps and 12 hour waits. I would have loved to have tried the purge sheets and now I have them as a fabulous resource. Lesson learned. I have something I print weekly and have missed it maybe 2 times this is so helpful. Printing weekly is a must you are so right. 😂

I bought an Epson 4800 for a regular printer because my HP was getting too expensive. I don't print every day and sometimes I go a week without printing but then I print a lot. This video came out just as I was dreading unclogging my 4800. It was a wonderful step by step process that saved me hours of needless printing and calling it a lot of really bad names and threatening throwing it out the window. I LOVED our Epson ET-2850 when we bought it - it uses very little ink when printing. After having it for a year, the cyan quit working. After watching a few other videos for help, I came across this one! I didn't even know about the Maintenance Box! (now i do!). I replaced the full Maintenance Box and ran a few purge sheets (no luck), then ran a couple of head-cleans and VOILA! Thank you SO much for your help!!

I printed out your subliflower and it’s beautiful. My regular printer printed it out beautifully and so did my Epson 2850. So I had to put it on something so I could see the gorgeous colors. Wow! Super impressed!

Thank you SO MUCH for this tutorial! For some reason my yellow was not printing, but all other colors were. I don't think I had a clogged line because I changed one setting in my printer settings and all of a sudden the yellow started printing! Thanks so much for your awesome explanation on unclogging printer. My Epson 2750 clogged about a year ago, and after going through the basic cleaning, I gave in and did the power cleaning. That was a mistake because quite a bit of ink leaked out the back of printer. After doing some research on this, I ran across the suggestion of printing out a page of each color, much like your idea to do this. I didn’t feel like the Epson website was very helpful in solving my problem. Thanks so much for your very helpful tips on this. The 2720 is a work horse. I've had it for over 7 years. Got it before my mom passed. Haven't printed in color for a few weeks so yellow stopped working. Glad I saw this. I've tried everything, including power cleaning, but haven't checked the print since doing it yesterday. I wish I had known about a purge print first. Wish me luck.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. I had left both my printer sitting for too long and it was not printing cyan on one and the black on the other at all now they are both back working after many cycles of purging, nozzle cleaning and head cleaning.

Hi Jennifer. Thank you for your help. I had trouble with all 4 colors. Now all but black works. The purge file is ok. The nozzle check is not. I suspected that the black was made by using the other colors instead. I made myself a black purge file in Word using the color code 000000. When I printed that file no black was printing. Is there a setting in Adobe Reader that forces the printer to only use the black cartridge? Thanks and greatings from Sweden.

Epson 2800 - the first nozzle check showed that I was missing all the cyan as well as a few magenta segments. I tried printing the purge files and nothing changed so I did the head cleaning 3 times and the nozzle check after the 3rd one was perfect. Thank goodness!! Hopefully I didn't fill up the maintenance box too much. I'm definitely going to set up a weekly email to the printer with all the colors! Thanks for the help!

I was unable to use my Epson Ecotank 2760 for over a year due to family health issues. I tried several times to get it to print but nothing. After watching these steps and using the files from Jennifer, I decided to try it again. On day 1 and 2, I was getting blank pages. Today (day 3) I was able to get all colors printing with the exception of cyan. This color is not printing anything. I am going to try for a day 4 tomorrow since waiting 24 hours seemed to help with the other colors. Thanks Jennifer!

I have the Epson ET 2800 and I live in Florida - I have had to run a power print twice now - once last summer when it really got hot and again just a few weeks ago when we had a cold spell - I think I need to buy a printer heating blanket for when it gets cold and a cold printer blanket when it gets hot - now that would be quite the business to get into - LOL

I have had this Epson 3850 for less than three months and I see that my lines could be possibly clogged.
This is basically a brand new printer. Does this happen within a few months? I used the printer maybe twice a week to print letters in black to people that I correspond with. I also use the color when I would print from my phone.
It's difficult to understand why a brand new printer would need so much maintenance. But I thank you for the time that you spent to tell us what to do. I'm going to try your ideas here.

Banding was solved when i updated my printer drivers. When i first set up my laptop to wireless print, i didn't know to install specific drivers

I remembered seeing a mention of this tutorial in an email I got from you, but went ahead and did all the wrong steps before watching it (*sigh). My ET-8550 automatically does head cleaning, and power cleanings if you say the lines are not right in the head nozzle check. Luckily it was only once for both before I watched your video. My printer has six colors, and the only one left with a problem is grey. I Googled purge files and found a grey one but it looks like it is using other colors to create it and not improving that line at all. Do you know if there is any way I can target that ink line specifically? I'm excited for Avance! I got on the waiting list as soon as I heard about it. Thanks for all you do, Jennifer! 🥰

Your tutorial couldn't have come at a better time. My printer has laid unused for over a year. The nozzle check sheet came out completely blank. I'm using the Epson 2720 converted to sublimation. I've tried all the steps in your tutorial except for the cleaning of the rollers as I need two hands for that and currently have one in a sling. Do you think that cleaning the rollers might resolve the problem? (I have tried the purge sheets a few times to no avail).

Brand new 15000. Literally only printed 56 sheets so far and yellow and magenta are clogged. It started with the vertical bands. Up until now, I was printing something everyday. It went south when I needed to print 10 pages in a row. I'm disappointed I've encountered clogs so early on in owning this printer. I just did the first power clean and it is off, resting. Fingers crossed I have good results tomorrow. Hippo ink and Asub paper.

Is it better to do test prints with sublimation paper versus regular printer paper? If I remember, choosing the matte paper setting pushes more ink out. Will that make a difference in whether or not your printer develops a clog over time?
You can use plain paper for your testing for sure!

My yellow is still clog in my effort 7710. Purchase it that way unknowingly. Came 9 boxes of unopened ink for $400. She said she hadn’t used it in 2 months
Hi Jennifer I have a question is photo blk. & blk the same ? if not do you have a photo blk purge file ?
It is different. A regular black ink cartridge uses pigment based ink, and is typically used to print black and white text. A photo black ink cartridge is designed specifically for photo printing. It uses a dye based ink, which helps produce more defined shades of black when printing a photo.
I do have a Epson ET-L3150 EcoTank, it is from the showroom, I dont think that it ever had ink in. My problem is to fill the ink into the Eco tank. It does not flow in. Could it be that the tank is dry? Is it possible to take the tank out and clean it? Thank You in Advance, Wolfgang from Switzerland

Hi! I have an Epson ET-2800, and made the mistake of putting in the ink that came w it. I removed the ink from the printer by you tube videos I found. After nearly all ink was removed I refilled with Hiipo subli ink. The 1st printer purge sheet I printed showed missing pink and yellow, but as I continued to print more purge sheets, all colors are now not printing. i ran several cycles of purge sheets, with no improvement. I did one printhead cycle and repeated printing of purge sheets with no success. I will let it sit for 12-24 hours to see if it helps but am very worried! I checked the ink pad, there was no ink in it. Do you think Im going to have to do a power cleaning?
You may need to do a print head alignment and a power clean if that doesn't work. Good luck!🥰
Should you leave your printer on when it's not in use? I read/heard that you should turn it off when it's not in use or is it ok to leave on?
You should not leave your inkjet sublimation printer sit for an extended period of time without printing. Run at least a nozzle check periodically to move fresh ink through your print heads.
If you've let your printer sit without using it, this gives the ink a chance to dry, which, can cause blockages and further issues. Sawgrass recommends that the printer be used often to ensure the print head nozzles do not become clogged. Sawgrass also recommends keeping the printer powered on at all times. This will allow the printer to run automatic maintenance utilities for optimal performance. Epsom EcoTanks need to run often for the same reason.

also why does it make a faint whistling noise when pulling paper into the machine I did a nozzle check no missing segments and also cleaned the print head still prints fine just having a hard time grabbing paper

I have the Epson 2800 and the black was printing but the cmy colors were not. I done all the steps finally had to do a power clean and that fixed it the colors print beautifully but now the problem is I have horizontal lines in the black. What happens if you can't print green ? My nozzle check is perfect, I went ahead and cleaned the heads as well. My cyan is very dark and my Magenta is more red. Where it's supposed to be green. It ends up being a dark blue

My nozzle check sheet doesnt look like yours all i got is 5 blue lines in the corner and nothing else other than the lines its a blank sheet and my ink is full but it keeps saying my ink is low please help!

Hello, I was setting up a brand new Epson Ecotank 2800 and trying to get it ready for sublimation. Soon as I reached the step after preparing, it mentioned it would take 11 minutes but before it could finish I received a message that there's an E2 scanning error.😭 All the website says is to shut off and turn back on, but it's been wasting my sublimation ink. Can you please help me or if anyone knows what I can do, kindly let me know, since I had a project deadline for tonight, but I'll just have to accept that it won't be met. However, I still need to resolve this issue, because it's causing me to waste value time and money.
I really appreciate you taking the time to make videos to help others starting out, and appreciate any help I can receive pertaining to trying to get my ecotank up and running correctly.
The latest is that when I try to turn it on, it skips the initiation step, but when I try to do anything it says printer busy, and then the same error message happens. I'm not sure if it's the way I'm loading the paper, because it doesn't seem to smoothly be able to be pushed to line up with the arrow where the printer tray is, since it's a rear tray. I also was in the middle of setting up the wifi network to connect to it, but I couldn't finish setting up because of the scan error. I finished trying to set it up on my cell which is android, and my laptop I'm using is a MacBook Air. Additionally, I was using brand new A sub sublimation paper and Hippo Sublimation Ink that mentioned it would work for an ET 2800.😔 I don't know if it's a printer problem, or a problem with the sublimation ink, paper being loaded, or air in the line, since I can't get passed this error code to even attempt to print anything.

My problem is with Epson 3830. No clogs that I could see after the tests; but, my printer just stops printing before it is finished. Usually I get 1/3 of sheet printed and then the printer stops printing and pushes the paper like it was finished.

It's really crazy that they do not let you clean the print head for JUST THE ONE COLOR.
Every time I have to do this it blocks other lines and you have to clean it two or three times.

I have done all of these steps and everything prints out fine with the purge. However, when I go to print anything teal it comes out blue.

my printer is absolute garbage now .. please help me! I did the nozzle cleaning and then a print head clean and at first it was just missing the one portion but now its literally not printing black at all

Im on my second EP2800 due to clogs that never got resolved. Im ready to throw out my 2nd one now and have printed each week but didnt stop the clogging. Rescue me! LOL Lines through the prints just leave me wanting to give up. its been sad.
Hi, keep in mind that humidity (or lack thereof), a dusty environment etc may also add to your troubles. Also the ink brand used/quality will contribute greatly. If it's clogging after just one week, that doesn't bid well for the quality thereof. After 20 years in the ink industry, I definitely have my favourite brands for stability.

@@mindsurf2010 Sure, didn't want to step on any toes re: brands etc. My current favourite is from InkTec S Korea called Sublinova Smart. Really stable for small business / crafter's who print infrequently using Epson or Brother Ink tank models.

My artisan printer think is too old. I tried these methods so many times that no ink comes out on the paper anymore. Time for an eco tank
